  1. Mmmm, viewing the clip a few times it appears that just before the bike hit the child, the pushcart was pulled back with high force causing the child being ejected from the cart ann then the bike hit the child.

For me the parents are totally at fault and for the rider fleeing the scene......he stopped a few meters passed the accident spot, he walked to the spot and then he moved on......question is just....why did he move on?

  2. Officially it's called KEHA Condo and it's a former social housing project which was built approx. 30 years ago.

Most of the units have been sold now and are being occupied by foreigners or Bangkokian weekend-dwellers.

Yes, a 24-26m2 studio will go for 3,500 baht, but there are a lot more opportunities in Pattaya for that amount.

An indication/example of a recent sales of a 52m2 condo in building B THB 1.2mn

  3. "The KCG Company prides itself on creating pleasure for your taste, but it certainly wasn’t creating any pleasure for motorists and the incident caused huge pile ups from all sides of the intersection outside of Tony’s Gym."

Yeah yeah blame KCG.........why not blame the freakin' cityhall and its incompetent contractors.

Amazingly enough the hole has disappeared, problably without solving the problem (waterleak?), so in a few months another "culprit" will fill up the hole.

  4. One of the many examples of greedy landlords......PoR probably started with a low rent due to the state of the building; spent millions in upgrading and operations and after 3 years of being successful the landlord decides to increase the rent or the keymoney to an exorbitant height due to the perfect state of the building!!

    Not what I refer too.

These 4 stops were done as usual additionally to what I describe.

The bus that I rode did not go along HW7.

It instead drove along HW36 to Sukhumvit.

    So far so bad already,

BUT then I expected he would do the left turn south down to Pattaya (which I experienced on another ride).

No, he turned right to the north heading towards Banglamung.

Don't know exactly how far he went, a couple of kilometers.

The doing a U-turn, dropping off a single lady at same intersection I never knew before.

Then down south and doing two more arbitrary stops before reaching Nuea.

I also used this bus more than once and this was exceptional.

    Almost 2.5 hours to Klang.

The stops at North, Central, South and Thepprasit are planned stops....every additional stop is a "bonus"

  6. From Jomtien to the airport is usually no problem; buy or pre-buy a ticket @THB 120, hop on and go.

From the airport to Jomtien is described as convenient, but extreme long waiting times (up to 2,5-3 hours) will be part of your trip.

I'm not sure whether you can buy a ticket for airport -> Pattaya at the Jomtien office.

Have you ever thought to go into McDonald's and ask the staff what the Thai is for Caramel Cream Frappe?   Surprised your wife (presuming she's Thai) doesn't know the Thai name.

Google translate give this - Khārā mel khrīm yĕn pĕn wûn

"Callamel ceam fapphea".......but in order to get what you want.......use one of your pointing fingers in combination with the pictured menu on the counter.

Let this finger rest on the picture of your choice and subsequently stick up the number of fingers corresponding the quantity you desire.

  8. In  Asian restaurants (it's not a typical Thai thing), you usually order a number of dishes, side-dishes, appetizers, soups/salads and they will be delivered in random order after being prepared.

At some point your table will be filled with dishes and it's very common that you have a plate of rice in front of you and "pick" from the side-dishes whatever you like.

If you are at a bigger more upscale Chinese restaurant (or Thai restaurant with Chinese owners), you will find those big round tables with a carroussel in the center. Serves the same purpose: sharing all the food on the table.

Having a meal is usually an 'event' that's shared with friends, business-partners and family. Sharing everything that's on the table is part of that event.

Although it's more or less a cultural thing, I still find it slightly annoying.

In Pattaya there are many restaurants who have good waiters and perfect food. They are owned by farang though. It's the only reason i like to go to Pattaya.

But even there things go wrong, was in a famous fishrestaurant on the beach in a group of Thai and we ordered a load of seafood. I ordered a deepfried seabass which came 1 hour after the rest...no fun. The waiters can't help that but the chefs/mangager can.

Slightly off topic, but serving food in the correct order is a common issue in Thai restaurants.

Orders are being prepared and first cooked is first served.

Pretty usual that dessert comes first and soup last and yes....a deep fried seabrass will arrive after you're about to 'check bill'.

And this can happen in upscale Thai resaurants as well.....once I ordered springrolls as an appetizer (I found them in the appetizer section of the menu).....guess what?
