  1. Since I'm leaving Thailand I had to change my Thai assets into Euro.

You may think: "No phomphem!", but it's a real pain to exchange currencies, especially buying foreign currency is a disaster.

First I tried a few exchange booths.........."No have Mrrrr", maybe in the evening but then not more than a few hundred Euro.

A few days before D-Day (day of leaving) I went to a major sub-branch of Kasikorn along Jomtien Beach Road.

Upon my request of changing THB into Euro..........."Sorry Misterrr, no have! You go to Kasikorn South Pattaya na!!"

Next stop Kasikorn South Pattaya.....Pattaya's Kasikorn head office with currency exchage booth. I was pretty sure that I'd succeed there.

"No have Misterr, sorry!! Go to Kasikorn at Central......they have sure!"

I demanded that they'd make a call to verifiy and so they did.

Upon arrival at KBank Central I asked for Euro's and that they were just called by KBank South Pattaya.

    "Sorry, no have sir!"

My fuse was close to ignition, so I started to ask for the manager (I rarely ask for managers) and suddenly people start to act.

Instead of using the available exhange booth I was directed to the regular teller-counter and from a stack of 100 Euro bills my desired amount was taken.

Moral: As with many other things, buying foreign currency isn't very obvious. Take your time and be prepared for a walk around.

BTW.........If you have a foreign currency account there's no problem in getting a pay out in the corresponding currency.

  2. Any ATM in a busy area will do.

ATM's outside convenience stores are regularly safe due to cctv system (if they work).

Just beware for stand-alone ATM's in remote areas.

  3. I don't you're wanna go with a motorbike taxi; it's still about 40 km.

A taxi to Utapao from Pattaya cost around 600 baht o/w

    Try this one....

The company is called Kitittron Transport and they operate for Airasia.

is it because every suicide is reported here in Thailand or what?

It seems a daily occurrence these days foreign or Thai, something to 'worry ' about or just numbers?

    Every human counts (alive!!)

    RIP

In our tranquil Western society suicides are hardly ever reported.

A few months ago there was a report on TV that the number of suicides in Western Europe was increasing dramatically.

Matter of "Sea no evil, hear no evil..........?"

I've got 3bb fiber on Siam Country Club Rd/Pornpranimit 13, (Wanisin farm area) I pay for 100 down/50 up, screenshot is what I get on wireless on my phone. Fiber is into the house into a 3bb router then hardwired into a Linksys router so I can use 5Ghz. Seems alright, I've had a few different companies out here; 3bb seems to be the best so far. Saying that, none of them were that great, always had connection issues.

    Wow....you're freakin' lucky!!!!

Our 3BB Fiber Optic "hi-speed" usually offers somewhat like 3.8-4.5Mbps

This massage shop owner is obviously unaware of the power of social media.

Silly bugger should have just paid up for the ladies treatment, and that would have been the end of the matter.

Now after not paying up, he risks losing his business and livelihood, silly man.

You don't wanna know how many masochists there are around......this could be booming business.

  7. OP needed an extension and this has nothing to do with a TM30 or any way to report a foreigner staying somewhere.

Same as the fact that the famous arrival/departure card is NOT connected to a TM30.

If you would like to extend your stay by extending a tourist visa or visa-exempt you need a proof of address.

That can be a rental contract with a clear end-date not going beyond the end date of your extension or a standard document from your hotel stating that you are a guest with a check in and check out date.

One of the shops next to immigration can produce such a document for you and even create some kind of passphoto. Think it totals  baht.

Please don't think that a possible previous report by hotel or landlord using a TM30 will cover you while applying for an extension, that's NOT the case. At least not in Jomtien

  8. Mityon has a wide range of 2nd hand bikes.

South Pattaya Road, approx. 2km from Sukhumvit on your left.

Don't know about warranty, but they're quite willing to repair small issues.

As soon as it's getting more expensive you'll have a dispute, but that's with any other dealer/shop.

DO NOT answer if you do not have the answer to my question, I wish to hear.

My answer doesn't help you either (completely).

Posting a question like yours invites a number of people to give all possible opinions and solutions.

Actually, the answer to your question is IN your post. Since the key to your issue lies at the security system or juristic office in your village, you should go there.

Whatever happens, it will be usefull to know how this works out.

How about controlling the officers in charge not to take anymore bribes?! You want only good and honest foreigners, how about start being honest yourself?

Only crooks can catch crooks, but you're right.

It's about time that the new chief is going to investigate his 3 crack down teams who do have a main business in receiving bribes and a side-business in supplying all kind of visa's: "I can take care Mister. Cheaper than most agents"
