  1. Anyone who goes to Pattaya, especially around areas like walking street, can expect to be harassed. Besides that, the article was referring to Thai people, culture and infrastructure. That so many Indian tourists are ignorant ill mannered POS's is a reflection on them, not Thailand and Thai people.
  2. judging from the photo, why would anyone want to come to that crush of humanity?
  3. Now that current US administration has given the green light for US businesses to bribe overseas, I see smooth sailing for the project
  4. try again: there is no income, rather there is expense, if she follows this line. Hit men aren't free and if you do a balcony dive she loses a future customer or someone to blackmail. It's all about the money
  5. Always shake my head when it is the backdoor man who gets shot and not the wife. The victim made no vows of fidelity to the shooter... many times the male doesn't even know the woman is married, or she lies about status... oh well, different culture, different targets I suppose add: oh yeah, the adage "you don't sh*t where you eat" applies as dead man worked for shooter
  6. How an msg tax just to cover the waterfront?
  7. As anyone clearly knows. "86" refers to an acceptable positioning between unmarried men and women in Amish communities. Everyone who has gone to more than 3 years of grade school should know this
  8. Chinese, the Tai who invaded Thailand from S China and suppressed the natives, who had darker skin. It is typical of conquered people to try to emulate their new rulers. For once it can't be blamed on Europeans I think....
  9. And thanks to defamation laws, we can't be told the name of the company, which would forewarn us to this sort of scam. Thank you, Thailand. How about some hints? maybe "rhymes with..."? "First letter is same as governor of Trat...?"
  10. "...focusing on reading, writing, and maths skills..." AKA "the 3 R's" What were they teaching before, or maybe were they teaching before? Vital skills like never asking questions (those students seen as "trouble makers". Seriously. How to assemble and stand in formation for no good reason (future police officers?). Learning that competency has no relationship to life outcomes (It's who you know, not what you know) This radical view that students might learn something useful is bound to upset apple cart of Thai culture
  11. "Surprise raid?" "Uncover" it is no surprise it took the cops so long to get off their backsides and face some public... Uncover? Something as loud as a 747 is hardly hidden "...nightly parties had disrupted their lives for over a month. Locals reported that the music made it impossible to sleep, prompting swift and decisive action from the district office." somehow those two don't quite mesh, unless you consider one month to respond as "swift". In a sane country, a cop on the beat would stop by and tell the party goers to turn the music down and keep it down. Do this on day one, not day 30. Don't need a whole raid and all that
  12. Headline says "Chaos in Pattaya Condo" yet the story tells us "...diligent efforts saw residents ushered to safety with no casualties reported" Is this an example of click bait or?
  13. "Is this a private war or can anyone join in?" I thought bars were supposed to be closed at 3 am. Silly me
  14. where do they plug in? half million pounds of lithium-ion batteries... seems airlines are putting restrictions on lithium-ion battery packs... what to do? they catch fire and are hard to put out Will they have electric life boats on this ship?
  15. Thinking of those two German women who were sucked in by ICE, even tho totally legit tourists, perhaps Trump & Co see no difference between prisoners and tourists.... "..the prison gained even more notoriety through films like Birdman of Alcatraz..." Does the AI that writes this trash know definition of "notoriety"? "the state of being famous or well known for some bad quality or deed." Or do they have zero knowledge regarding the real "bird man of Alcatraz"? Violent, yes, but why famous? Why was a very good film about him starring Burt Lancaster made? "Robert Stroud, famously known as the Birdman of Alcatraz, made significant contributions to ornithology despite serving a long prison sentence, primarily through his studies of canaries while incarcerated at Leavenworth and later at Alcatraz. He became a self-taught expert on avian pathology, publishing research and developing cures for bird diseases, most notably a cure for the hemorrhagic septicemia family of diseases"
  16. After the 10 year ban is up, the ruling class will find another way to neutralize him. By hook or by crook
  17. Vietnamese culture is based on Confucian ideals of hard work, education, civic pride. Thailand isn't. Thailand had a long stretch of time when they were one of the few destinations in Asia. Vietnam had the war and recovery, same and worse for Cambodia, Laos is xenophobic Marxist, Burma... you know Thailand squandered that enviable position thru sloth and greed and are now just finding out the cost
  18. "The platform falsely presented itself as a site for finding romantic partners, companions, or massage services, but was in fact facilitating the commercial sex trade." I fail to see much distinction here in the land of smiles....
  19. "...must fund a gender-affirming surgery for a non-binary individual who seeks to construct a vagina while retaining a fully functional penis." So now if someone tells he/her/whatever to go F***! themself, response could be along the lines of "what a nice suggestion... I think I will. Eat your heart out." Seems one sex organ per customer is not an outrageous standard... "gender affirming care", okay... but plural? GenderS affirming care?
  20. Nah... Trump is too fat... He'd have to rolled in flour so you could find and hit it in the wet spot
  21. Trump fired them. You must have missed that in Trump's "Flood the zone" strategy to destroy representative gov in USA
  22. Possible, but who the heck packs around 300,000 baht on them? Money in carry on? doubt it.... what sort of wallets do these guys pack?
  23. That article looks like the sort of in depth analysis one might see on NewMax. Lead should have pointed out "4 or 5 supporters weigh progress, etc" but to leave it vague "supporters" is false. Pre Trump the US Economy was "the envy of the world" per the Economist. Trump has managed to sabotage that, along with alliances, partners, etc in just under 100 days. He and his econ101 flunkies lack the most basic understanding of trade and tariffs. He is a Putin puppet.... I could go on for pages, but he is a sick man, narcissist, lacking in any shred of human decency, low IQ easily manipulated. His only "plus" is that he is smarter than his supporters, about 1/3 of US population I live here in Thailand, and do not support Trump: worst thing that has happened to US since Civil War If you only know Trump supporters, broaden your circle. I have a couple of US friends who support Trump. The rest see him as the disaster he is
