  1. "Sudarat Urges Thaksin to Target Beneficiaries of Transnational Crime Networks" wouldn't that be like shooting himself in the foot?
  2. "The government is also intensifying its efforts to tackle fake news." Perhaps if the government put out half as many news bulletins, the amount of fake news could be cut by 50%....
  3. This incident clear wasn't "over easy".... hope you don't mind my poaching your lines
  4. Insipid 1005 of the murders happen in districts that have 7/11 stores. A fine example of non sequitur conspiracy lunacy
  5. Biden's eulogy was just fine and he wasn't lost Gee, why wasn't former President Trump asked to say a few words? Perhaps because he is a maundering hateful liar of the first order?
  6. and she earned the money to buy all of those watches from babysitting gigs when she was a teenager
  7. The submarine races are the most eagerly sought tickets of the entire celebration!
  8. No need to import plastic waste: Thailand has reached it's pollution target via domestic trashing ahead of schedule. Around pandemic time Thailand banned plastic bags usage at 7/11s and similar store. That lasted about 3 months. Was the law ever repealed? Rare to see people bringing their own bags. I guess rationale of government is that Thais have saved enough of the earth so now back to trashing as usual
  9. All crypto is a scam: they are backed by nothing tangible; there is no "there" there.
  10. To her credit her chants and prayers are no less effective than those of "mainstream" religions
  11. Happens every year about this time, or so I have heard. Not what one might call "sustainable growth"....
  12. She should order all government employees to exhale only, leaving more air to inhale for average citizens to process
  13. Thailand can have all the "White Lotus" type resorts it wants, but at some point the rich have to leave the grounds of the resort and face the chaotic, ramshackle mess called reality here in Thailand.. the trash, the dangerous roads/drivers, the fraught with peril happenings.... I suppose they could travel by helicopter, but even the rich have problems with them at times
  14. I suppose a bit better than taking ya ba to stay awake....
  15. Some years back (forget how many...) recall a new law requiring inter city buses to have seat belts and enforce that with threat of X thousand Thai baht for non compliance. That enforcement lasted a few months, like most laws. The seat belts are there & now it's up to passengers to use or skip at own peril. Problem may also be unbelted passengers flying about the inside of bus: wouldn't want to be hit by 100 kilo Russian auntie
  16. 38,000 for 3 days? You could get "Thailand's finest" (hint: not police) for more than 3 days for that sum...
  17. Hardly "shifting tone": grifter that he is, his promises were swallowed hook line and sinker by the delusional rubes that see him as the second coming. "Trump and his team argue that the adjustments reflect a realistic approach to governing" in other words, lie as much as you want during campaign, then perhaps tell a bit of truth later when it doesn't matter.
  18. If a driver loses control, he might run into a power pole If an air taxi loses control/power, it can drop anywhere on anyone without warning
  19. Sadly he was a tuna in a shark tank while he was president
  20. I suppose artificial intelligence better than none at all...
  21. No sprinkler system? No fire extinguishers? Doesn't look like a low rent corner cutting dive Looks can be deceptive
  22. Legit to ask for ID etc from those in auto. A car with diplomatic plates could be stolen.... I have read about the amazing hassle NY cops have what with UN being there, as scads of diplo's use immunity with impunity.... park anywhere, drive any way Then there was that incident in UK where wife of US diplomat killed a bicyclist (I think) due to bad driving and was scooted out of the country ASAP to avoid legal consequences... Here in Thailand seems the rich and/or powerful have a local equivalent to diplomatic immunity... see Red Bull, van crash, etc
  23. Answering the age old question here "How stupid can you be?"
  24. F. Scott Fitzgerald is credited with the quote, "At the heart of every great fortune lies a great crime".
