Do you actually think they will be issued live ammo? Come on. Get a grip. I've no idea what MARINES are there. National Guard should be adequate. I've been in communication with a police officer in the LA area who welcomes the Guard as they handle a lot of tasks they haven't the man power for. Most of the actual confrontation is police trained to interact with the public. Marines will probably also be background manpower. These fevered dreams that it is a fascist armed force trampling innocent civilians peacefully protesting is a fantasy.

I think it depends. How long was she in the business? Are you willing to give up playing the game? Will you treat her as a normal human or throw her past in her face? Did she really LIKE heavy drinking and partying?

In my experience on the open road it isn't as bad as OP paints it. Not as rigidly controlled by drivers who passed a German license test but mostly safe and adequate. WHere I spend most o my time in Pattaya - OP is spot on. I swear some of them are suicidal. Or homicidal. Whatever. I am on edge when ever traveling within 30 k of Pattaya. I hear some of the middle eastern nations are much worse.

Watching the riots in LA and it's sad. Sad that one side feels justified to assault police officers (using Jan 6 as an excuse for now) and the other side (some) would like to kill the protestors. Clearly, these protests are identical to the BLM protests early on. Started by people (perhaps misguided) against perceived police brutality but infiltrated by thugs and paid instigators. I don't want to harm ANY peaceful protestors but would love to see those blocking freeways, destroying property and committing violence arrested and prosecuted. And I have mixed feelings about the massive ICE raids. Yeah, the ones going after criminal gang members I am all for. And I don't care if they get shipped to some foreign nation whose prison facilities aren't so nice. But, I feel for the ones who are in fact here illegally trying to keep their heads down, earn a living and send some cash home. I wish the issue wasn't so politicized. I do know I watched a team of about 8 guys work in my yard the last two days in 100 degree weather installing a new irrigation system and planting some cacti and an orange tree. Nary a one except the main dude could speak English. I'd bet they don't have papers and Id' bet my costs would have been double if I had to hire American born labor. Sucks that our politicians haven't been better at legally vetting decent people who want to come here and work. Instead, 4 years of an open border flooded us with criminal elements forcing draconian raids and sweeps to clean up the mess. Whatever. Rambling I guess. Good scotch does that. Wish the decent ones could be left alone along with the decent protestors. And I wish the gang bangers and paid violent rioters would all be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.

Problem with that is there is too much money invested by powerful people in the weed business. They have influence with politicians. So that genie isn't going back in the bottle. Just my opinion.

Well a lot of true geeks do use Apple. Certainly enough that measure actual CPU performance etc. All that stuff is tested by computer geeks who share their findings.

I've had my suspicions about their computers. But I think there are enough geeks in the world that would expose it if true and Apple has too much to lose. I recently (well a year) upgraded from an Intel based Apple laptop to an Apple CPU M2 Pro CPU based laptop. Combined with SSD storage replacing the old spinning disc hard drive it is incredible. I have large music and photo libraries. On the old machine it would take a while to load them. Now it is almost instant. Everything is faster. In short it is AWESOME. Now on phones I have always suspected they do something to make the battery less efficient in the old models. Probably not but that's my conspiracy and I'm sticking to it.

Looks like a high end Samsung is about the same as a new iPhone 16 pro max. Whatever. I'm not really into different phones or comparing them. I am kinda locked into apple with ipads, Macbooks, apple watch, all that <deleted> so it all integrates. Seems like the price delta between Apple and alternate OS systems isn't as great as it once was.

I think a higher end smartphone is well worth the money. I use mine every single day in multiple ways and it proves very useful. But they don't need replacement or upgrade often. I have an iPhone Pro 11 which is now 6 years old. The newer ones are faster and have better cameras and I guess a few features mine doesn't but I don't seem to miss any of that yet. Only feature I'd like that I know of is ESIM versus physical SIM. Certainly not important enough to upgrade for me. I mean if I do buy another one it would be state of the art which would cost me (looking on Apple right now) $1200. Yeah, over 5-6 years only $200 a year still no reason yet to buy.

The personal adoration of Trump the individual will end in 2028. But he isn't the root cause of the movement. He tapped into a frustration shared by millions with the direction the left was pushing the nation. My opinion of him has changed a bit but certainly not because of the constant retarded attacks on him here. I voted for him because the DEM party positions on too many issues is way out there and destructive to the future of the US and world. And because they ran a complete idiot DEI candidate. Trump I have been wary of both times he was elected. Recently I am somewhat concerned by his scattershot announcements. Maybe there is method to the madness but if so it's above my pay grade and intellect. Still, DEMs/Kamala or Trump? I'd still have to vote Trump. It would be nice if both parties actually presented really good stable candidates and ran on fixing the national spending/debt problem long term as a priority instead of pandering to fringe groups. But at my age I now just hold out hope that the world economy stays stable until I'm gone.
