  1. I must be an incredibly lucky, proficient & highly skilled individual [emoji846]
31 years in Thailand, always paid cash, never had any money stolen - further - never lost my wallet! - Impressive eh! I really don't understand what the big deal is against using cash - its easy, off course "government" & CC companies will/do push for a cashless society, more data for them to add into their algorithms, but hey we know they can be trusted [emoji23]

In your opinion, what will the government do with the “algorithms?

  2. Smart phones are unbelievably un-secure devices.  They were designed to harvest personal information.  You couldn't pay me to use a smartphone to conduct financial transactions.  "But they are convenient."  Right.  They are dandy if you don't mind being hacked.  And when the grid goes down.  Good luck.

  3. Is any body surprised?

Barring the hard core Trump supporters who see him, complete with all his troubles and idiosyncratic faults, through rose tinted glasses, I don't think too many people expected anything much to come from this second meeting.

Trump has met his match, twice now in a month. Outsmarted by a match on home turf and outsmarted in Asia. And in both cases, "the-art-of-the-deal-man" lost.

The OP report contains many fine and telling phrases but I think this one speaks volumes.

"The collapse of the talks raised questions about the Trump administration's preparations and about what some critics see as his cavalier style of personal diplomacy."

"Cavalier style of personal diplomacy .... ". This bares repeating.

As does “What some critics see”

  4. Lets see actual results first before getting overly excited. Sure testing has stopped but word is they didn't really need to do much more testing. I still think it's obvious Kim is never going to denuke and 45 is certainly not going to force him. What 45 obviously wants is the optics that he solved the problem that he somewhat amplified with his earlier insane rhetoric. Then Nobel prize, no impeachment, reelection, and no prison. Or so he hopes.

Fact - testing has stopped. The remainder of your post is pure opinion and speculation. But then, perhaps the facts do not fit your agenda?.

  5. I was informed that pools with diving boards are required to have a lifeguard on duty while the pool is in use. This could be confirmed by a reputable pool construction company

  6. "Advised them to wear long-sleeved shirts."

Maybe these officers should practice what they preach?

The Aedes mosquito which transmits dengue fever is active approximately 2 hours after sunrise and several hours after sunset. So if these personnel were attending during normal business hours, there would be minimal need for them to wear long sleeves. But nice of you to have the first post as a bash.

  7. Taiwan, which has a substantial threat, end conscription late last year.  They will have only volunteer troops.  Why can Taiwan survive while Thailand can't?  Thought the military party was way ahead anyway.

Money taken from the military black hole to be used to help the economy.  The people over the military?  Chaos will ensue.  Financial independence will lead to better education and a desire for competition.  How will the military rule ?

    What s
“Substantial threat” could Taiwan conceivably repel?

  8. Factor in the rip off theivery, con artistry, conniving Island mafia and under cover gangsters, corrupt BiB/officialdom, not to mention many of the opposite gender waiting to prey on naive farang men mis-judging the “come on” smiles as welcoming friendliness, get feet under table and pay heavy price, with all of these somewhat intangibles, Thailand is not as rosy as some of the other countries in the survey.

Sorry to be negative to those obviously happy in the LoS, not intended to take away from your good luck, but there are costable dangers that need factoring when doing the DD on this subject.

All you have stated applies equally to all countries on the list.
