  1. What sort of inane question is that....oh ok right you caught me, I masturbate to crime scene photos...I hate being outed.*insert mega eye roll here*

    Here ya go Francis, my general policy. Murderers should be caught, tried and punished in accordance with law which for me means innocent until proven guilty. So I try not to join the baying mob waving pitchforks heading to the Old Windmill chasing what they think is evil.

    In most countries where you are innocent until proven guilty, a confession can waive the right to a trial and go straight to the sentencing phase. In this case, the police have a confession. So no need to have any court trial to prove him guilty.

  2. Curious if car rental services In Thailand charge more (extra fees)
    for Farang with foreign license? Than a Farang with Thailand license?

    US charges substantially more and requires translation of drivers
    license.

    OP if you don’t have Thai drivers license you mist likely will need
    and International Drivers license

    While renting vehicles in the USA using a Thai driver license, I have not yet paid in excess of the published price. I have also never had to provide any translation of the license. The rental agency had a large “catalog” which they used to compare my actual license with a photograph in the book. This was all in southern states.

  3. The little people scraping by on 10k or 15k THB must be urged to donate - it's their civic duty;
    Those with multi-million THB watches can't be bothered.  Gotta make arrangement for the China Formula 1 Shanghai International Circuit and don't have time to worry about the suffocating Thai peasants.

    Isn’t it the little people scraping by on 10k or 15k who are burning fields, trash, etc?

  4. In some countries the law officers have the right to charge a driver with “impaired” driving, with penalties similar to driving under the influence of alcohol. People also have the right to refuse an alcohol test. It is the officers opinion then to give the impaired driving charge. End result is similar with loss of driving privileges, financial penalties, etc.

    I do not know if Thailand has similar laws.

  5.

    It's clearly a transnational issue, with much of the smoke appearing to be centered on both sides of the Thai-Myanmar border... But there also have been plenty of reports from Northern Thailand area locals here on the forum reporting plenty of local burning in the areas where they live.

    Absolutely agree. Is is an ASEAN issue that needs regional solutions. Rather than attempting to place all blame on Thailand’s government or citizens.

  6. Yes, there are numerous areas for improvement Too many to list here, and everyone has their pet peeves. Back to my point - there have been many improvements made to Pattaya city over the past few decades. It is incorrect to say there aren’t. But then, TVF. Can not give credit for improvements, can only identify shortfalls or criticize what doesn’t meet the personal approval of the poster.
