Plenty of Indian restaurants left who have yet to take down the sign and clear out the furniture.......Almost none of them are doing take away.........Someone's still paying the rent or they would all be out of business .....

Apart from a full 24hr lockdown (which seems completely unnecessary given the numbers here) I am not too sure what other measures are possible.
How about banning grocery shopping.....Only home delivery....
How about limiting what you can buy from a grocery store...
How about needing permission to go anywhere.....
Come on get creative.....The possibilities are endless for more unnecessary restrictions...

Very likely that Pattaya will almost completely become a Chinese playground, and yes WS might be the first, but not the only, area to fall. For those who are skeptical of this, I point to Sihanoukville which within one year, two at the max, had become unrecognizable from its earlier state as a quiet seaside resort town catering to mostly Cambodian weekenders and a smattering of foreigners wishing to escape the hub-bub and heat of Phnom Penh. Substitute Pattaya, Thai, Bangkok in this last sentence and I think you get a pretty good idea of what Pattaya is to become. The writing is pretty much already on the wall.
Possibly.......But Pattaya will NEVER be quite the free-for-all that Sihanoukville was.....And Pattaya will not be sold for a song and a dance to the Chinese like Sihanoukville was....

Why would you think it will be extended beyond 20 April? The purpose of the ban is try and stop people partying over Songkran.
Songkran is only the excuse for the ban.....Banning alcohol is very much in fashion worldwide these days....

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the whole nation is subject to an alcohol ban within the next couple of days.
You read it here first. ????
You guys may want to stock up.....You can bet the ban will be extended beyond April 30 once it happens.....

To me a Freelancer is a hooker. Am I off on this one?
Sir the name hooker is very crude...
I think a better name would be a "therapeutic personal assistant stimulation provider"

This handout was for people who were OUTSIDE the social security system...
I would say most are qualified for being OUTSIDE the social security system...
This handout was for the people lowest on the totem pole who did not fit into any other hand out category.....
So how can so many not qualify for needing almost no qualifications?
I think what might be happening here is this payout might be structured like a public works construction project if you know what I mean..

Not all of us lives in fear and lets life live them. The world shutting down for a virus is bat<deleted> crazy. Each and every death around the world is a family tragedy...NOT international news or even newsworthy at all. There are plenty more likely causes of death each and every year that no one ever even gives a thought.
The outcome of shutting down Planet Earth may well prove way more damaging than losing a fraction of one percentage point of the global population.
There is no place for this kind of solid logical thinking during a hysteria...

Going out for no essential reason is pure selfishness..oh and the argument about catching it only harms yourself is BS, that then makes you a carrier hence infecting others and also a drain on already over stretched health services..Stay the f#@@ home...that's it, what's so hard to understand...fine them, lock them up, make an example...sooner people are sensible, sooner we get back to normality
Actually the sooner people start acting normal the sooner Corona goes away...

I haven't read through many of the posts and forgive me if this has been suggested, but another reason for closing off much of these stores may be to keep down on the amount of area that has to be regularly sanitized. The more area where people can roam around and touch things, the more area there is to be overlooked when trying to make the place safe.
Watch in the coming months...I bet more and more things in stores get restricted including food....

I guess you're in denial about the NEED for physical distancing. Change is hard, huh?
Change is not hard if you have no plans to change...

We could just relax and not make a big deal out of nothing and be happy if nothing changes because things are just fine how they are......

From the thread running in the news forum:
"People will need to have their documentation and IDs in order and some, particularly employees working in Pattaya will be urged to make special ID cards. Foreigners should carry their passports with them."

Not yesterday
Not today
Not tomorrow
Not in one year
Not in one decade
Not in one Century

It does not matter whether they are locals, tourists or expats. Selfish and recalcitrant trash like these are all over the world, not just in Thailand. Idiots like these make it more difficult for the rest of us who are trying to comply, cooperate and get rid of the pandemic soonest possible. No excuses should be entertained, no sympathies should be given. The authorities should just throw the book at them.
Well maybe if everybody broke the rules they would have to cancel the whole thing..
