If you think riding a baht bus makes you immune, enjoy the ride
Sir I have survived having the flu many many times already and no doubt I would survive it again....

Gee what a surprise .......If 100% of your income comes from tourist and then you ban the tourist then you have 100% less income.....
I figured the crying would start in a few months not a few weeks....
If they are smart they will stuff this no tourist thing pronto before it really gets ugly over there....

All the ones defending not carry passports where right before in normal circumstances , as i did to with a complete copy page by page (only 4) of my passport .
However now I take passport with me, as I don't wish to end up in police cell ,if meeting some very strict police ones in this lockdown , as before not pleasant even until someone bring the passport , but now I would not like to be closed in with all kind of arrested ones … even not for a very short period because corona contagion risk
And anyway the trip outside is now not to bar , but just to Tesco/Big C so less risk to loose it or get stolen in daytime …..no night crawling anymore allowed !
Are the police going to replace your passport if you lose it?....lol
Be smart don't give yourself the opportunity to lose your passport...Keep it at home...

Only a grade A fool.....Carries their passport with them at all times.....
To replace a lost passport now would be a nightmare of the highest order...
If a copy is not good enough and the Police want to see my passport they can come to my room to see it....

Jingthing I dont know why you have such a hard-on for Conrona and baht buses....Do we really need more threads on the subject?
Even if someone believes in Corona just the way its presented in the press , the baht buses are open air and not a threat to anyone.....
And just to fill you in there are hardly enough riders left in Pattaya to even have 5 people riding at once any more....Many many people depend on the baht buses 100% me included....

i don't understand why all those measures are neccasary, when Thailand
coronavirus cases are not growing exponentialy and there are not many
death cases.
it's only 100-150 cases a day, steady for allready few weeks.
the total number of confirmed cases, after three months since the first
case was discovered, are only 2000+ cases.
seems like a huge victory over the virus, if the infection rate was high we would
only see photos of packed hospitals and bodies lying in the street (happans
in new york daily).
so maybe better relax, the way thai knows so well, and just keep it cool and distant,
sweden style. and indeed in may it will all go away.
And miss the opportunity to finally put all those expensive tanks to use?.....This is a golden opportunity to showcase the big boy toys....lol

How do you know this? A good friend is a logistics officer in the Thai Marines. She told us yesterday that we should prepare for a total 24 hour lockdown. Stock up on food, drinking water, etc.
I agree....

Between 4 and 5 AM is a time reserved for ladyboys to prowl the streets on motorbikes looking for customers......has been for years....

Went to Makro today no shortages of anything or any panic buying......I changed my mind about stocking up on things...I dont like the ever more restrictive direction things are going....So bought 4,000 worth of storable food incase madness ever takes over and they close the grocery stores.....

Actually I am a little concerned about future food supply. The nearest town to us is an hour's drive. The nearest Makro/BigC is almost 3 hours drive.
We normally shop at Makro/BigC once a month and last went about 2 weeks ago, so have plenty of frozen provisions for now. We didn't buy any more than normal. Now been at home for 12 days as of today.
Now in the village the local markets (Sunday, Monday and Thursday) are shut since 2 weeks. Local shops are open randomly, but there are only 4 or 5 of them and they don't sell everything you need and rely on stock from the nearest town or deliveries. So far the pork shops are still opening about 5 AM and I guess unless they run out of pigs, this should be ok.
Wife is now terrified of buying anything. One or two of the market vendors are going around selling from their motorbikes/pickups but if they have no mask she says 'not clean, not buy'.
Village had a run on eggs for week but normality seems to have returned. Now I see people buying a tray at a time, as we always do, but prior most locals would buy 5 or 6 eggs at a time.
I just hope it stays this way and doesn't escalate.
Stay Safe.
Stock up it will escalate....

Are some of you guys going to just keep egging on ever more restrictions......Maybe when we are all chained in prison cells 23 hours a day you will finally be happy,I am not sure if even this would even be enough....

My TM6 is from my last entry, which was back in 2011. I've had a new passport since then and as the Immigration databases appear not to be synchronised, I would need to exit and re-enter before the app would work.
If I try it now, I just get the 'Go to your local Immigration Office' message.
Just go to the Jomtien immigration office I think there is a super short line for 90 day reporting, and if this does not work pay some one in the print shop to do it for you..........Your right online 90 day is a turd....

I wonder how they are going to check the age of every customer. For Thai, it is not a problem because they have their ID card.
But for foreigners who don't have driving licence, do they need to bring their bulky passport when they go shopping?
Just take a zimmer frame and you should be ok...
