  1. I have a Blue plastic tank and the algee was bad until I put a roof over it. Now OK.

I recently cleaned a guy's plastic tank with my pressure washer which was caked with algee, I could actualy peel the algee off.

Regard to a stainless tank;- I read somewhere that they are prone to pin holes.

  2. That's quite interesting to me. Just today I noticed that on my computer. I have no idea how it got there. I went to control panel and it was listed in the programs, both a program and a tool bar. I uninstalled them both and ran both Spy Bot, and my antivirus program. Neither found anything. So far, so good.

I had this with windows XP two weeks ago. I draged the internet Explorer Icon from the start menu onto desktop page then deleted the Icon with V9.

Might not work for you but it did for me.

  3. You have probably downloaded an extension or some crap which is overriding your browser settings. Look at your addons..

Thanks for your help, I've tried what you suggested with no luck, still got it.

  4. 300 Baht a day in a factory then they will have tax and social security deducted which is about 15%.

I pay 250 Baht a day and if they do a good job they get a little bonus. Had no complaints so far but remember no matter what the task they will say ''I do, I do, no problem''. Most are just chancers trying to con you..

  5. We have a small guest room at the back of our house, two nights ago the TV went on fire.

The Safety-Cut did not trip. Can someone explain what would cause it not to trip as I thought this is what these things were installed for.

  6. I just did a Price check on the BA Website London-Bangkok Return THB55k Bangkok-London Return THB49K its all about availability & Fuel Prices as much as anything there was much higher demand for flights leaving Bangkok for Europe than the other way around In Thailand the schools have just gone back after their main Summer Holiday whereas in Europe people are planning their Summer getaway

.I go back and forth to the Uk on a three month cycle and have aways bought my ticket in Thailand. This time I have bought a return ticket in the "Uk", Glasgow to Bangkok for £730.00 with Emirates. My travel agent in BKK told me that he could get me the same ticket for 43,800 Baht. (At the rate I looked at it was £903.). He told me I could put the money into his "Uk" account. I opted to pay on line and saved myself nearly £200. I can't understand why flights from Thailand are so expensive

  7. Never heard of this and my house which was built by a local builder has buried wires through conduit. I didn’t put the wire in the loft through conduit but I wish we had as we were bothered with rats a couple of years ago. I’m going to say your friend is wrong but I’ll keep watching this thread for comments from other members.

  8. Usually it will be in Mbps (Mega bits per second - note the lower case "b"). MBps would be Mega bytes per second, upper case "B". Some speedtest sites will display in kbps and do believe I've seen some that do MBps also so depends on which site is being used. Example from my Thailand university connection, two different test sites. The first is in Mbps (Mega bits per second) the 2nd in kbps (kilobits per second).

  9. I’ve just had the technicians from 3BB at the house as my internet speed is slow but my question is this;

When doing a speed check on my computer I get the answer in Mbps. When the guys who came to fix the internet tested the speed on their computer it showed the result in Megabytes. Why is mine showing Mbps? They couldn’t understand this and neither can I. Can someone explain this in layman’s terms please?

    Thanks.

  10. Whilst on the subject of Dream boxes my picture seams to be seizing up a lot lately. Maybe some of you guys who are knowledgeable with this system could give me an explanation as to why this occurs.

    Thanks.

Was told years ago to unplug the DM box for 2 mins when this happens, something to do with static build up...

The DM box CPU get hot..... There are topics on the web about fitting a fan to the DM box CPU.... mostly found that unplugging works for me.

Also find I need to switch off the Internet Router sometimes, appear to reset something and both DM boxes and PC run faster/better after.

    Maybe help ?

    Thanks I'll try that.

  11. There's a wee Off Licence shop opposite side of the rd from the big shop with the Toshiba sign on Phosi rd which all the bars use. It's on a corner. If you can't get it there you chances of getting anywhere are very slim.

  12. Last year we installed a 2000 litre fibre glass water storage tank as the village water was not dependable.

I had a look in the tank yesterday and I see it has green algae on the inner walls.

Is there any chemical that I can add to remove the algae which would not harm us?

The water is only used for showering and washing.

We are new to this system of storing water and any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
