  1. Greece got themselves into this mess !! Like most of the airlines and other companies in the USA, they went bankrupt because no one bailed them out. France and Germany should have stayed out of it and let them go flop !! I guess Spain is next ?

Does everyone think this EU (Additional Welfare Organization) is working ?

With A Grexit, A Lot Of Politicians And Bankers Would Lose Their Job... So This Must Be Avoided By All Means

    http://www.talkmarkets.com/content/us-markets/with-a-grexit-a-lot-of-politicians-and-bankers-would-lose-their-job-so-this-must-be-avoided-by-all-means?post=66794&utm_source=outbrain&utm_medium=referral

    Echo's my own thoughts.

Another reason to speed up the Grexit.

I doubt it will be allowed to happen.

Germany and France have too much to lose.

  2. Does Thailand have an Extradition Agreement with Singapore ? If so why are they not using it, Oh, Damn I forgot he is a very rich heir !!

    >>52 vendors were earlier found overcharging buyers. Officials said, out of the 48 newly reported cases, 10 have been taken into custody<< Quote

Meanwhile the cop killing Red Bull heir is sniffing his coke in Singapore...............bah.gif

It is indeed a strange world, with one law for the rich and one for the poor!!

  3. I have personal experience with this issue, in that a Very Good friend of mine has lost her Father and Older Brother to the Fluke Worm caused Bile Duct Infection and Cancer from eating the raw fish. When you do not cook the fish the worm lives and finds a home in the person that eats them. They like the Bile Duct. My Oncology Doctor at Bumrungrad told me they have know about this for years and have tried to educate the Issan people about this.

Now she and her Mother must run the family farm. To make things worse is the history of crop failure in Issan Rice farms due to either too much raim or no rain. Hard place to make a living, so off to BKK.

  4. If you read my earlier Post you know how I feel about Drug Users and Drug Dealers.

Well, Guess what, I have even less use for Terrorist, I do not care what Religious or Political Cause they are supporting.

Why, Because they always kill more innocent people than the ones they are against.

I do not know why the Thai Army does not know ever square meter of land in the Southern Provinces by now as long as they have been fighting down there and as many local non-muslim recruits as they have.

  5. And so what is your e-mail address or you can call me or e-mail me <contact by PM>. I was a mamber in Sterling, Va. years back and the office in D.C. said I may use my old ID and renew. So I want to joint your Post. Retired USAF E-7 26 years.

Congratulations on forming your post. If I'm ever in the area I'll stop by. Now I just wish they could get a reserve unit out here... Korea and Japan are a bit of a hike.

If you are eligible, you are more than welcome to join our post. You don't have to live in the area nor do you have to attend meetings. Just keep your dues current and you are a member. We are new and still learning and can use all the help we can get.

How much are the dues, and how can one make the dues payments? I live in Surin, have my DD214 available (can scan a copy and send by e-mail if that is sufficient), and would like to help you in your endeavor to start an American Legion Post in the area. Is there a life time member option, and what does that cost? I likely wouldn't be able to make many meetings, but would try when I could.

    Mike

Hello Mike, First of all thank you for your interest in our post and your service. Our dues are B1000 annually. The dues can be paid in cash or by deposit to my Bangkok Bank account. You may scan your 214 and email it to me. There is a life membership feature but you must apply for regular membership first and then apply for a Life Member. This is because you have to have a membership number first. Would be nice to be able to apply for Life Membership from the start. PM/message me with your email address and I will send you a application form and answer any questions.

    Again, thank you.

  6. There is not any logic to that, I would bet they are on the Good Generals List !! If not should be. It will take a least two or more years to continue Flushing the Devise to clean upLOS !!

Ironic, they arrest a Thai lottery vendor for overcharging 10 baht, but taxi drivers, tuk-tuk's, jet-ski's ... who have been ripping off the public for years, go scot free. Where's the logic in that ?

  7. Since you have been to a Thai Female Prison, I have a question. I watched a TV show "Banged-up abroad" a few days back and the showed an alleged Thai Prison where 25 to 30 women were housed in a large cell with no beds, tables and chairs, is that a true picture of a Womans Prison in Thailand ?? If so it is a very inhumane way to treat even criminals !! In the case of the one Yaba Pill 40 hours of public service for a first time offender.

I have little feeling for a repeat offender and none for a dealer.

By treating drug use as a health problem rather than a crime would lessen the prison problem considerably. Last time I visited a Thai prison I was speaking to a woman who had received 12 months for the possession of a single yaba pill.

  8. Wow, pretty strong wording !! Were you perhaps born and raised in Georgia ? I think not, I was not born there but was raised from age 8 there. While there is room for improvement, as in any state in the USA Georgia is not too bad !!

In short, Don't eat too many bowls of "Bovine Fertilizer" for breakfast tomorrow !!

Is it really that surprising? This is Georgia, the US's equivalent to Baan Nock Isaan. Sadly they're just a bunch of country ignorant Chicken Farmers down there in a fiefdom ruled by Conservative politicos..

I don't understand why the US allows such ignorance, and poverty. They should send can international aid and send it to Georgia. Might as well send Peace Corps Volunteers too, although it might be too dangerous a place for them. biggrin.png

  9. What is the big hurry with this, people sat around for years while the previous government raped the public lining there pockets and enjoyed the little free handouts to buy the votes and stay in office.

All the other countries that are harassing Thailand have the same problems, maybe on a lower scale, but there just the same.

They have not even completed the campaign to eliminate, find and arrest all the corruption !!

Dear General/PM, Please keep flushing the devise on till the water is clear, then worry about the next election, God Speed !!

  10. You must lead a pretty sheltered live if you have never had to borrow money for food, rent or medical reasons. The problem here is there is usually on these Loan Sharks if you are from a poor family.

What ever the reason this man had no legal right to perform an Assault and Battery on this woman, and what is worse for people to just walk by. I am 80 years ole and I know for sure the ass he would have to whip would be mine. No man niot even a husband has the right to treat a woman this way. 5 to 10 years might be a good start on this guys next career !!

The Thai press says "a 31 year old man" instead of a Thai man. Ha it been a foreigner, the Thai press would have been quick to laud it over everyone by specifying which country he was from. Notice how the THai press refers to the extortionist respectfully by calling him "khun." We all know he is a Thai loan shark and now an accused an alleged assault an battery criminal. Depend on the Thai legerdemain here, that is who holds greater sway over the Thai police? The loan shark or the victim. We know how that will come out what with the Thai loan sharks already paying off the Thai police.

It is not practice for the news to say he was a Thai person while we are all in Thailand, and it is logical and normal to refer to someone giving their nationality if not Thai. if you were in the UK or US, the US, UK press would not refer to the perp. as an Englishman or American, however they would identify his nationality if he were an alien. BTW, it's not always easy to do, but I'm once more reminded of the saying, "Neither a borrower or lender be." Particularly don't borrow from loan sharks, she was asking for trouble. Not that what he did to her was justifiable, but you don't play with sharks if you don't want to get bitten.

  11. Good reply, These people only make up 13% to 16% of the population and want to wipe their ways in the face of the majority. I agree it is a States Rights Issue, and if one does not the laws of the State they live in they have the right to move.

This is another one of those cases that isn't what it appears to be about. It's not about gay marriage or gay rights. It's about States' Rights.

In the US, the Constitution clearly forbids the federal government from making laws it isn't authorized to make. The Tenth Amendment to The Constitution says this and only this:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

When the US was in its infancy many people, having fled a king in Europe didn't want a powerful central government. After the Constitution was ratified they quickly came together again and ratified all at once the first ten amendments which are called "The Bill of Rights". The is the reserved rights of the people and of the states against the federal government.

The argument is that marriage is regulated individually and sometimes differently by different states just as are many other important things. Again, laws can vary by state.

This debate comes down to whether the federal government has the constitutional authority to make any law on this subject which would bind any individual state, in this case meaning all of the states with one law. The thing then to watch is whether the Supreme Court which makes these rulings about what the Constitution says will come down on the side of states, or on the side of the federal government.

This is a Constitution debate and I have no idea what the outcome will be. The court has many times ruled in favor of the states and against the feds and if it does this time, the people in each state will have to take up the fight with the state legislatures. If it rules against the states then federal law will rule.

  12. Were you born in a Thai Hospital or in a home. If at home was there a Mid-Wife who could verify who your Mother is ?

The mods may regard this post as against the rules, but I consider it helpful and morally right. This is a time to research the best lawyer to handle your problem. You are morally entitled to Thai nationality, but will probably need a lawyer with contacts who can grease the wheels a bit to actually make it happen. Usually, corruption in Thailand is damaging,, but sometimes its presence can be helpful in correcting an unfair situation.

  13. The BKK Post said he had been out of work for three years, but drank with his friends at a near-by grocery store.

I will never understand some men. Out of work, but money to drink, I guess wife worked. This is very sad, but more typical of the way some deal with their problems. How can you be out of work when 7/11 hires all the time, construction laborers needed all the time. I would not feel sorry for him, but do for wife and children !! God Bless them or who ever they believed in, at any rate we are all God's creatures.

  14. Do not crush the motorcycles, take them to the rural areas were some can not afford a good motorcycle and have them issued out.

Make a public announcement that anyone caught racing will be arrested, their bike impounded and taken to a crusher immediately without recourse. Follow through on the announcement regardless if the parents are "hi-so" or not. The modification on some of these bikes cost tens of thousands of Baht. Let them know there are consequences for their actions. After a few hundred bikes have been crushed they might, just might start getting the message.

  15. Me thinks you are quite full of it, the politicians and corruption is what got us here, they are trying to finish the job from 2006 !!

Dear coronel, you said: "He added the government and the National Council for Peace and Order have been dedicating themselves to Thailand’s prosperity".

let us remind you clearly from the outset that THAT IS NOT THE SOLDIERS ROLE.=Shoemaker to your shoes!!!!

if you and your friends or adepts want "to dedicate to Thailand’s prosperity", do it as businessman or politician but NOT as soldier. let me use an example so you and your circle may understand well: i am a chef by profession (by cooking good quality food, I am provide good health to people). Therefore, if you can switch your role as soldiers, so I can also switch mine, so that I can work as a physician. Would you agree?

  16. If I did not read some of the Bovine Fertilizer in this blog I would not know there was a Junta running the place.

I expect it to take at least two more years to purge the corruption and educate the voters before a fair and impartial election could be had. If you had one today the same "Clowns" would be back to corruption/vote buying as before. It took many years for this all to happen and it will take a few years to straighten out.

Dear General/PM, keep flushing the devise until the water is clear, Thanks, from an eleven year Farang who thinks this a beautiful Country, but with a 18th or before century mind set !!

  17. Do they have a sign that advises the possibilty of Earth Quakes if caught naked on the Mountain, I think not !!

It is amazing how backward and superstitious some cultures are. One wpould believe none of the natives ever got naked and made out on the mountain, again I think so !!

Please understand I would personally never do that. My Mother taught me better !!

  18. You should never be able to raise above the Law. It is said he has done much for Thailand, which may be true, but if involved he did not do much for those hundreds buried, raped and tortured while imprisoned in the South. They may have had no route to be in Thailand, but they were/are humans and need to be treated correctly until deported.

Did I read where 40M THB went missing during a raid under his watch ??

  19. Many have little or no education or skills and expect to live off the government and taxpayers in their host country, all the while complaining about how unfair and intolerant the host country is. Simple, stay where you are born and make something of yourself and that country

Some Muslim Countries are more advanced and have good hard working people. Others, just make too many babies and have no infrastructure to develop into a second or first world country.

Another problem was the European countries colonizing the North African countries and exploiting them for years.
