  1. I have not been to these Southern Provinces, but it would seem by now the Army/Police should know everybody living in this area. They should give these people 72 hours to leave Thailand and then do a hand to hand of the whole area arrest and/or kill everybody that has an AK47 or unlicensed weapon, anyone with explosives should be killed on the spot !!

There is a culture in this World, including Thailand, that has no respect for human life, especially if they have a different religion or belief. They should be treated the same way. It is not going to get better, only worse because they want World domination and every living being to conform to their belief !!

  2. There are some drinks like Vodka which do not very much odor and the Office was correct to request. The Chief should have an attitude adjustment by the good General/PM.

If he knew anything about Leadership he would have taken the test as requested and commend the officer as Drunk Driving is a contagion in Thailand and cost many lives every year !!

  3. All these post are assuming he even went through normal clearing procedures on his departure, I think not, hence the problem. Have you ever been in the departure/arrival area when some of these "Hot Shots" come through. I have, and you would think a Royal was coming through. On arrival at the Baggage Claim area they hold up every bodies luggage until the "Hot Shots" get theirs and usually someone carries their passports through immigration. As a Business Travel it annoys the hell out of me, because I pay and I bet they do not..

If he had any sense he would have left the unregistered gun in Japan before boarding the aircraft, but I note that the announcement of the planned charge (whatever it may be) wasn't made until after his flight had departed.

Wasn't this guy a pre-coup police chief. If so, probably politically motivated.

Also, if the AOT's employees or contractors would have been doing their jobs properly, surely the gun would have been found and confiscated at Swampy?!

Sounds like the AOT (forgive the pun) is shooting itself in the foot on this one!

  4. There may be or have been more corrupt people in Thailand, but when you are corrupt while holding a high office you betray the whole nation. He may not have been corrupt I do not know personally. However, to give someone two years from milking billions while in office seems to fly in the face or reality. They give 8 to 10 years for stealing mushrooms or selling Knock-off DVDs, what is that ?

I wondered how long it would take for the coup makers to start writing anti-Thaksin laws.

Further, this is the second retroactive law they wrote, which runs against the rule of domestic law, international law, and any law anywhere.

  5. Corruption is a very dangerous Cancer and it has been allowed to exist in Thailand so long the people expect it as a normal way of doing business. We have seen people in high places arrested, even the head of the criminal investigation division.

There is no cure for cancer, you just kill it and hope it is under control and will not come back, but it does so you kill it again. Then you go back and try to kill it again.

If they have a death sentence and escape you try extradition, if that fails you get a bounty hunter who is willing to find them and kill them where they find them or bring them back.

I believe one of the biggest corruption schemes is the extremely big VAT Tax on new cars. I wonder where goes and I did not even see it listed on my wife's car invoice. I could have bought two Honda Civics in the USA exactly like it for what I paid here.

  6. Two words; "Russian Mafia" !!

yes,, its really brave of him,,, but also very risky!!!
he has just sent some bad guys to jail !!!! surely the future is now dangerous for this french guy. (unless of course he is planning to go back to France).
if he is to stay in Pattaya, then now he has to spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.
its good what he did, but it comes with scary consequences.

The reason stand over people get away with what they do is because no one will stand up to them, good on him for doing this and I hope the community of Pattaya get behind him and support him, and yes also offer him protection but at no cost.
  7. I agree about Guantanamo Bay, there should be no prisoners there. They should have killed them where they found them and let God sort them out !!

That is exactly what Muslim Terrorist due and make videos to prove it !!

Can't wait for the Thai governments announcement that they don't understand why they are ranked so low on the human rights list of the US, or any other country in the world for that matter.

So where is the US on his own list bearing in mind they kidnapp people all over the world, throw them in secrets jails, torture them and send them to Quantanamo without ever seen a lawer or judge?

Hey man...when you have the world's largest "pseudo" economy...maintain currency control through the US dollar...export covert operations on countries who have denounced US aggression...then you feel exceptional and privileged to speak with authority on other countries problems...wai2.gif

  8. From a Defense stand point the PM issuing any such statement prejudiced the entire Judicial System. I like him but he should have kept his mouth shut.

These men should be taken to the bounder, released and then the Police will find the real killer/killers.

We have suspects and we will be presented with evidence in court. If they are not good enough the "boys" will be set free,

No they will never be set free.

The judges will decide if guilty. Not a public jury. The PM has publicly declared that he has looked at the evidence and that they are guilty.

It's done, finished, over, before it has even begun. This is just for show so Thailand can show and say that there was a fair trial and they were found guilty fairly. What actually happens in the trial doesn't matter a jot to the outcome that is already decided.

  9. This happiness "Bovine Fertilizer" is not what I would like to see. To straighten out the corruption as well as the Taxi, Tuk Tuk ripe offs would be nice.

There are way too many taxis to start with and they do block up lanes on the streets, Soi 11 was cited earlier, Soi 3 is as bad.

I noticed after the last change/increase that included the adjustment for distance and traffic some of the taxis can not find their way or go extra distance. They think most expats/farangs do not know the difference. Well I have lived here over 11 years and as soon as one starts his round about routing I just get out a pay the meter and get another taxi.

  10. Hardback; I do not believe you have a clue what "Tyrannical Rule" is. Except for those cronies who want status quo from before you can hardly tell there was a coup !! I have lived here for over 11 years and I see many things changing for the good. This Country did not get this screwed up in two years and it will take much longer than that to make the changes.

As for these students, at their age I doubt they have a clue what the real world is about. Whatever, the rules are the rules, if you do not like them make change when the chance comes.

Dear General/PM keep flushing the device as the water is not clear yet !!

You would have to be brainwashed to go against tyrannical rule. Now lets find out who these brainwashers are and boot them out of the country! They'll be telling people they have human rights next - what an outrage

  11. I do not think it is a good image !! When I worked for the airlines as a Mechanic, Foreman and Manager if you went into a bar in uniform, whether on duty or not, you would be given time off and if caught again it was bye bye !!

I drank with a cop father of one of my students in the middle of the afternoon once. We had quite a few shots Of whisky. My Thai wasn't so great back then and his English not great so I never did know If he was still on duty Or done for the day (He was In full uniform). After about 20 mins He jumped on His bike and was off.

    Nothing surprises me here anymore.

  12. It is my understanding that, "the truth" is a good defense against libel and defamation charges/suits.

By the way, a completely unbridled media leads to what we have in the US today, one sided non-transparent reporting. I particularly hate these reports that are leaked from an unauthorized source. Rumor mongers !!

  13. Yes, When I was in Law School our Dean explained the following: If you want the Law you go to a Court House, if you want Justice you go to a Whore House !!

their crimes were real and they were horrific.

I think another disgusting crime is that these are the only two that they seem to be able to bring to justice after 40 years.

Almost as bad as the Nazi's that the Americans have been paying millions of dollars in pensions to.

Is there really any justice in this world?
