  1. Good news. I am yet to see a report of anyone getting a STV 'ordinary' extension after 30 Sept. following the scheme being continued. I am going to immigration for this next week. Will report back.
  2. Thanks guys. Neat and precise. All questions answered. Please feel free to close topic if you like.
  3. Apologies if I get the terms wrong, asking on behalf of a mate. He has a Non imm O 'work based' and is switching to marriage based with the requirement for 400k in the bank. 1. Is it 2 or 3 months that the money needs to be in the bank before application. 2. Does the money need to come from overseas? 3. When can the money be withdrawn? Thanks
  4. I am British. No background check but this was for the 'original' STV back in April. Not sure if the new one is any different. From memory I provided a one way flight, lease agreement, insurance, ASQ booking and a bank statement. All this is at the visa application stage, it could not wait until COE stage.
  5. I paid about £700 for 9 months cover including the 400,/40 requirement for STV and 100k USD covid including asymptomatic. I am 54 and British. AXA Thailand
  6. That is exactly the same requirement for an ordinary tourist visa and visa exempt entry. Not sure but it may apply to all new visas. 100,000 usd. Nothing different. Where the STV insurance differs is the need to have 400/40k Baht coverage sames as O/A. At least this was the case when I got mine in April
  7. I am on a STV. Proof of accommodation can be obtained via a booking that can be cancelled. Insurance is a bit more expensive but no big deal. You know when you sign up that it cannot be converted. For those who wish to spend 9 months here without commiting to a long term visa it works. Not for everyone obviously
  8. Hopefully this will apply to existing visas. The agent I use has always been hopeful that I will get my second extension after 30 Sept. Guess I will find out in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed. At least have the Covid extension to fall back on
  9. Just my personal experience. I have been travelling almost continually for the last 10 years. 3 months here, 3 months there. I am now 54 and English but the family live in Oz. My needs are simple and the rental money from the house in the UK covers it. I have no wish to settle anywhere yet. With other countries nearby closed I will continue to use the Covid extensions whilst available. I may not be the desired millionaire but I contribute in my own small way
  10. That is my understanding. If they extend again is anyone's guess. Wiser heads may be able to confirm
  11. Hope this is legit. Extended till end Nov. Source Chiang Mai news in English
  12. Spot on Crossy I reckon. Racket Tailed Drongo. Seen a fair few in CM.
  13. Scanning the QR code in to the Line app also gives you a digital record. Not sure how this compares to Mor Prom.
  14. Correct. I went with a couple of mates to collect their vaccine passport booklet. Asked about one for me as fully jabbed in UK. Got a polite No.
  15. Have trained the rub n tug lady to bring a carton of beer when she visits so all bases covered really????
  16. Agreed. I have my NHS records on line that shows both jabs. Probably as much use as a chocolate teapot here.
  17. I was enquiring if I could get a vaccine passport. I was double jabbed in the UK. Thought that was clear in my post but maybe not.
  18. After jab 2 you get a piece of paper with a QR code on it. You need that and your passport. I only know where to go in Chiang Mai. If you say you are not travelling yet no flight details needed. Collect one week later and pay 50 Baht. If you scan the same QR code in to line you will also get a digital copy of your jabs but not sure what this can be used for.
  19. Walk in. There is a car park to rear. Two desks open, you need the office directly facing the road. Think we only took passport and the bit of paper you get after second jab. Incidentally if you scan the QR code you get on the paper after the second jab in to Line you also get a snazzy version of your vaccination records
  20. I understand that their are others but we went to the health clinic directly opposite the Suriwong Book centre on Sridonchai Road. SE corner of the moat.
  21. Got ours in Chiang Mai. You do not need a flight ticket, just say you live here and want it for a later date.
  22. Plenty of my mates here in Chiang Mai have these and I have been with them when applying. Simple and took about 5 mins. You do have to do two visits. Apply day 1, collect in a weeks time 50 Baht. Has name, passport number and jabs received on it. Plenty of room for boosters.
  23. You can be old school and get a vaccine passport for 50 Baht. Nice little paper book with name, passport number and vaccination details on it. As it is issued by the govt. should be good enough for domestic check in. Most of my jabbed ferang mates have them.
  24. I went with a couple of mates who were collecting their 'vaccine passports' here in Chiang Mai. I asked if I could get one having been double jabbed in the UK. Got a polite No.
