  1. Does anyone know if this storm will hit Thailand, or will it die when it crosses Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao's land mass's ?

The past two broke up and died. Some local flooding is guaranteed, depending on the path. These things scatter once they cross land, especially rough terrain. Keep an eye on the path...Looks so far to angle north once it hits Thailand. Laos might be more prone to the brunt of it.

  2. G'day Restin peace

Ye problem with many people, but a lot depends on what you drink, I used to get bad with whiskey, beer and wine I am nice. Look at what you are drinking.

    Totally false.

Alcohol is alcohol. Quantity consumed per hour and body weight has more to do with it. Throw in some chemical inbalances that some people have..and that adds to the problem

Anyone who has attended AA or a remedial driver class knows the following formula...

    1 shot of whiskey = 1 glass of wine = 1 beer

    pretty much true.

drink 5 cocktails that contain 1 oz (shot of) whiskey and you are just as bad off as 5 twelve oz beers or 5 glasses of wine .

  3. Those boys are lucky that the llama was so amenable. Llamas are known to be bad-tempered animals prone to spitting, head-butting and biting.

True, but the same goes for the girls there. (Come to think of it...here too).

    How much for the barfine?

Leave it to the French to bugger some innocent, underaged llama.

  4. A good reason not to put all both eggs in the Thai Basket. You might be the smartest, trusting person in the world, but remember to look out for yourself. Avoid compulsions to withdraw your entire retirement nestegg and move it all here. Also, do yourself another favor, buy the smaller house and cheaper car for your first layover. Better to rent for a few years before making that leap. Take one half of your "entertainment allowance" and put that in a bank bank in the homeland (for an emergency return). Never mind all the hype about stashing all your savings in a bank here for a retirement visa.... go ahead and fly out a few times a year, just for perspective and the fun of it. Make that a happy habit. Call it a business trip or whatever.....but set up a pattern of escape. That way, it will be easier to leave it you ever have to. Leave your options open. There is a big retirement world out there. There are countries with no Sin Sot..and places where you still look wealthy without the new Camry and huge home.

  5. Two black eyes IMO is worth the price, I could never ever stand by and film a woman being hit, that to me is just wrong.

Not sure what America has to do with the story.

Oh come on...America is always at fault...according to ThaiVisa. Must have had something to do when we built all those nightclubs in Pattaya during Vietnam. Yeah...thats it.

  6. Time to quit blaming the entire country for the sex industry, Pattaya only became such during the Vietnam war. in the 1960-1970's

Oh come on. I mean, really? So what ! That was fifty years ago, man. Lets get up to date. How many Americans own girlie bars "Today"??? Is it your parents fault that you are now writing comments here on ThaiVisa?

  7. I asked a bar girl if she ever got 'sore" when she returned to the bar having serviced her seventh customer that evening. Of course I do she said 'my feet are killing me walking to and from different hotels'!!

On Pattaya Beach Road I asked a little cutie how much for sex with her? She said 250 baht against the nearby tree or 500 baht back at my hotel. I gave her 500 baht and she started walking off in the direction of my hotel. Where the hell are you going I shouted I want it twice up against that tree!!

What do you call a prostitute with a runny nose? FULL!!

What is the best definition of ETERNITY? The time between your orgasm and the working girl leaving your room!

I asked a working girl how much she'd earned that night? 1005 baht she said. Who on earth gave you five baht I asked? THEY ALL DID she answered!!

The reason that many Thai girls ending up working as prostitutes is because they wouldn't understand any of the above jokes(and Americans I find are not far behind)

and you are a moron for posting stupid bargirl jokes....

  8. I keep hearing 15 and 30 day border crossings. Every time I work it out, it really turns out to be 14 and 29 days. If you come in on the 1st day of the month, and are forced to leave on 30th day, the math shows 29 days, for example.

This is in contrast to an extension on a 30 day travel visa. The extension starts the "day after" the 60th day.

A small point, I know. Just saying.

not 30 day tourist visa.......meant 60 day tourist visa

  10. In my experience the girls enter the sex industry for nothing more than pure unudulterated greed.

Their greedy families are not content to work themselves so they send their "asset" off to work in bar.

Their fathers cease working when the girls are old enough to work the bar, and use the lame excuse that they will take care of the children for them, at a substantial fee.

After the girl pays off the family, I have heard of 10 - 14 thousand baht per month for the parents to care for a toddler, then there is the drug and alcohol addiction to contend with.

The family knows all about the girl, as no girl would dare disobey her father, but with their lack of morality they turn a blind eye as long as the money comes each month to maintain the families lifestyle.

I have heard it said by parents that the girl has to work in the sex industry because she has a p**ssy.

They learn all the tricks from the other girls, including drug use, in the end they return home with nothing, the lucky ones latch onto a punter and get out of the business, but soon return if the money stops and the families greed returns.

Or they become "brokers" for dating websites, taking in 30-60 thousand when the "target" shows up for the big "date" . Where is that Sin Sod honey...it's a tradition.

  11. I've learned more wisdom from the mouths and minds of Thai bar girls than I ever learned in school.

Really? Jing jing? ... Or are you just being melodramatic?

    Me 2....I learned,

    Hide Your Wallet

    Put the Condom on First

No, she is not really sleeping...

Girls look better when you are drunk

    ]

Oh...and the real important one..... Check it first and make sure before you do the barfine.

...and you learned all that from "the bargirl's mind" ?

    Ummmmmmmmm "The bargirl's ...mind"!!!!!!!cheesy.gif

  13. I always find it humorous when all of the ignorant, uninformed want to put down that which they have no clue about. It is a combination of motivations. Many, if not most, of the girls who resort to the "entertainment" industry initially do it due to the allure of, a) providing for their families, and, cool.png being able to make a very good income for not much work. They get to party every night, sleep until 2, then do it all over again, all the while being able to look "HiSo". They can afford those things which the "legitimate" girls can only dream about. And yes, there's always the possibility of finding that "rich" farang who will take them away from all of this, lol. But again, most, if not all, are sending home a pretty decent amount of cash every month, and that suits Mom and Dad just fine, so the story is spun about how she has a high paying job with a farang company in Bangkok/Pattaya/ChiangMai, and the neighbors and relations just smile and nod, and don't contradict. It's the way Thai culture deals with it. It's their culture. Who are we to judge?

You pretty much got it down.

  14. Thanks for that, I know while it happens in Thailand the whole country is not involved in those activities

Time to quit blaming the entire country for the sex industry, Pattaya only became such during the Vietnam war. in the 1960-1970's

    Cheers

Gosh... you really are saying girls just learned this from Americans?

The legacy goes on..... I expect thank you notes in the mail from all you other men from countries that have no prostitution.

Thailand.....the hub of girls who learned from American Men how to make money.

  15. wow, this is a huge change and I wonder why they did it? it benefits so many and hurts no one ( but the visa run companies) seems to logical for Thailand

will they soon extend the 30 day fly in to 45 or ( dreaming) 60 days which would eliminate the need for visas for most tourists and lose them tons of $$$$$

It makes working illegally on visa exempt status easier, which is exactly the reason why this rule was introduced in December 2008.

The simple fix is to limit stays to 180 days for visas such as this. Anything more than than 180 days is an unlikely tourist and one should of course get a proper tourist visa if staying that long

Huh? Did you say what I think you just said? Unlikely tourists need proper tourist visas? What about those guys like me that love taking 9 months out of the year running around to Cambodia, Laos, Burma (Ranong) and Malaysia. What could be more like a tourist than that ???

Perhaps you are refering to the people that retire here and never leave...trying to do short runs across the same border> Then I would agree. Many people take a year off at a time to travel..... That would sure put a damper on tourism here in Thailand ! They would lose tons of money on people like me.
