  1. Moving the boats from the pier in bad weather I can understand. Not guarding them I can't. Inside job?
  2. Have they been remanded or their passports confiscated? If they are indeed gangsters, they'll probably just run back to China and others will take their place in Thailand.
  3. He shouldn't give up his day job to become a comedian as it's not remotely amusing.
  4. As this is obviously more than just resurfacing and a major project, surely deadlines and penalties would have been built into the contract Statement of Work. I've lost count of how many Pattaya road projects go wrong. Why isn't a Civil Engineering team closely supervising this?
  5. Interesting, I'm English and have travelled the world for 40+ years without problems, I must have something wrong with me in your opinion as you count us all the same. I've seen plenty of foreigners cause trouble, but I don't blame their nationality.
  6. Sadly, that's true. I dragged a non swimmer in trouble from Jomtien beach and all he did was thank Buddha. His wife thanked me though. Maybe Buddha made me go to the beach that day and not my wife, as if!
  7. As a farang in the village. I have excellent Internet and access to all news channels including Asean Now. Why would I or the other farang in their villages not know about this? Unless they have chosen to go totally without Internet.
  8. I suppose you could arrive and get 60 days, do a border bounce for another 60 and then extend at immigration for a further 30. Total 150 days. How many times immigration would let you do that is another story!
  9. Not a bad idea, transport and businesses will adapt. Quite a few busy cities in the UK have adopted this or something similar.
  10. First, the majority of power is fossil fuel generated. The engines are more efficient, charging them isn't, it's grossly inefficient, the more so over the distance to the charging source. Not from some oil propaganda I've read but from various scientific papers. Also I'm a highly qualified and experienced electrical/electronic engineer.
  11. Is it really green? To my knowledge, almost all electricity in Thailand is generated using fossil fuel. All this does is shift the pollution from the vehicles back to the power station. Cleaner for Pattaya, a little, for Thailand, not really.
  12. The seat belts sign means passengers are free to move around, however the pilots always recommend keeping the seat belts fastened when sitting, precisely because of the possibility of turbulence.
  13. Not the place you'd expect to find a tiger normally. Can't say the response sounded too professional either.
  14. And how long ago was that written? I don't believe the gulags have changed much either.
  15. What is appropriate clothing for selling fruit in Thailand this year? She is not doing anything wrong and good luck to her.
  16. I love wine, but very rarely with Thai food I find beer better.
  17. I don't believe it's intended to specifically help the poor. More like an investment targeting tourists and wealthier Thai.
  18. Two amazing places, Moscow is worth it too. I'm not sure now is the best time though.
  19. I can't see this happening, especially when the EU are actually strengthening their borders. Trade deal yes, open visa access, no.
  20. Exactly, I wonder where these hapless tourists were from?
  21. That is advanced recycling. In our village they are not separating it at all, plus they prefer burning it themselves.
  22. Amazing that it has taken so long, considering Thailand has always been accepting LGBT as long as I have been visiting, which is over 40 years.
  23. To be fair the ratings are odd. Hanoi above Singapore and Qatar etc. The only real issue in Thai airports is immigration and they are trying to improve that.
