  1. Pretty unusual way to top yourself, even if method up.
  2. A few years ago my wife, Thai, got bitten and scratched by a cat. She took no chances and had the rabies jabs. If you believe you're at risk of rabies get the jabs, no matter what the cost it's better than contracting the disease.
  3. That's true, but it took the EU 50 years and European countries had less issues than Asean. Laos and Cambodia are effectively vassal states of China and Myanmar is a total mess.
  4. Well they're cancelling the flights to Beijing so this maybe their way of making the money back. Hopefully it'll be from Heathrow. It may also put pressure on Thai to reduce price.
  5. Educate the people what to look for in online scams. Also make them understand that if it's too good to be true, leave well alone.
  6. If the kids live in any of the cities in Thailand they will be subject to far more pollution in the air from the unregulated trucks, cars and motorbikes etc spewing out exhaust fumes.
  7. Thailand doesn't have the infrastructure to deal with that many tourists, 80 mil, they haven't got the infrastructure for the current numbers. As for the joint visa idea, that will take ages before they can get all asean to agree.
  8. Odd that The Pattaya Indian Community Association reported these shops, when all I hear is that it is Indians or SE Asians selling the stuff on the street. Competition?
  9. With that charging down the beach I'd be straight in the sea.
  10. Good point, as he was in a car I didn't think about that, but TIT.
  11. Good for her, that's a huge achievement.
  12. I think the man in the car was unresponsive, they had to gain access from outside.
  13. We carry an emergency hammer in our car so we can smash a window if necessary. Also useful if Satnav directs us into a lake. Seriously though, just gain access to the battery and jump it.
  14. One thing the Internet has given us is the ability to research things. How difficult would it be to google whether doing a cave tour in the rainy season was dangerous or not? People leave their brains at home when they go on holiday.
  15. Of course that would be serious. That wasn't what you stated though or what I replied about.
  16. That probably sums it up. Been on a night out and rides back on the road the wrong way drunk. If he's injured they can still do a blood test for alcohol.
  17. Typical Thai attitude, he thought people should be warned so he stormed off to Facebook. Go directly to the police ffs.
  18. It's hardly breaking bad is it, a picnic gas burner and a steel bowl. He's more likely to kill himself than produce any serious quantity.
  19. True, it was a cold July in London. However, having been effectively held captive in an aeroplane previously it can be very oppressive, especially with a duff air-conditioning. Then to have to sort out your own accommodation for the night is appalling service, Thai has really gone down hill.
  20. If they had diplomatic passports, which would have been highly unlikely, they would have used them when they got nicked. They're just young thugs that are used to getting away with this sort of stuff. Fine, deport and ban them from returning and it sends a message to others.
  21. I don't know, my wife is in full time employment. She hasn't a clue what the exact requirements are. She thinks we won't qualify due to savings etc.
  22. All Thai fines are ridiculously low. You're right of course, no way will the 3 years happen.
  23. I would suspect he saw the body. He wouldn't notice any impact in a train.
  24. I doubt they care what a lone US senator thinks, they regularly get rid of political parties when they don't please the elite.
  25. Going by the list of materials and equipment it's less of a drugs lab and more like a schoolboy chemistry set. He'll get hammered and serve some serious time, rightly so, but it's hardly a major drugs bust.
