    You are constantly saying stupid things on this forum so my one off is inconsequential. I have also been riding bikes and driving cars in Thailand on and off for over 40 years and never had a serious accident. That I believe qualifies the statement I made.

    True if you are not very experienced. I have ridden and raced motorbikes for 50 years so I am confident that I will avoid 99% of accidents and the 1% will be minor. On a cycle, not so.

    Not a chance, I never let my baggage out of sight to make sure it's not tampered with. I'd never take someone else's baggage. Anyhow, all airlines ask if its your baggage on check in.

    At least nobody was seriously injured. Having been on loads of boats on the river and the sea, I wonder what actual qualifications these boat "captains" have. Collisions are commonplace.

    I have quite a few friends that cycle around Pattaya, I won't risk it. It's bad enough on a motorbike, but at least you have an engine to help you get out of trouble.

    They do carry guns, however they very rarely use them. Just a bit excessive for a traffic checkpoint.

    What they do in the west is have police cars 1-200m further up that can block the jumpers. They don't necessarily have to give chase.

    The police set up these checkpoints incorrectly, they should be impossible to just drive through. Worst case they should have chase vehicles at the ready to catch any checkpoint jumpers.

    Typical of the Internet age. Idiots. I will get my content if it kills me. Unfortunately a lot of the trains are old and it is possible to open doors and windows. Until that is corrected other idiots will do this with possibly worse results.

    When will they fix these substandard brakes? Seriously though, it will be due to the driver being asleep or looking at his phone.

    This is not just a Thailand problem, it happens worldwide. People with low income and low education are the target of these sites. Maybe educate the people better. If it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is. Also never buy electrical stuff, especially batteries, chargers etc from these sites.
