I'm not one of those people that believes that everything back home is wonderful, but why don't the authorities here ask some of the Western governments to provide help in training their police? Police everywhere should know how to deal with these crimes and it shouldn't be left to "jackasses" as somebody wrote.

Congratulations. We sometimes forget that some famous people also do some very good work, besides entertaining us.

I'm a big fan of Elton John, but don't lets get carried away. It's true that many (rich) and famous people give to charity but they could do far more. The mega rich of our society could save millions of starving people instead of hoarding or squandering their billions.(Elton alone was reported to have spent a million pounds per day on flowers whilst on concert). I'm sure that there are many more deserving people around if we're going to give out awards for being charitable.

I think that the people on here making accusations of Thai bashing or asking us to understand Thai culture and so understand the MD's statement are missing the point. Thai airways is an international airline and needs to attract international customers and if I had anything to do with running this airline I would immediately replace the MD with someone that understands the business. The majority of us don't enjoy flying and I for one have a small list of airlines with whom I would rather not fly. Thai airways has just been added to that list.

I have an open mind as far as the supernatural is concerned, but please don't ask me to believe that evil spirits are making the wheels come off of your planes!

I have a multiple entry "O" visa, valid from the 10th July and I must exit Thailand by the 7th October. I deposited 800000 baht into my Thai bank account on the 12th July with the intention of applying for a retirement extension and I have a flight booked to travel to the UK on the 14th October.

My question is, do I have to make a visa run on the 7th October?

I have wondered for a while now why no one has invented something that can detect drivers falling asleep and warn them in time.

it was invented years ago. It's called common sense.
