Points well made and taken. Thank you. I recall many years ago my father at the time 64 saying over dinner he should up his insurance as at his age if he gets sick it’s most likely to be serious! Well within 6 weeks of increasing his coverage he was diagnosed with lung cancer. His medical bill in a private hospital for the three months he hung on for was over £65,000. 30 years ago. Mea Culpa. I’m sorry I would like to ask advice on health insurance. I’ve spent the past four weeks trying to decide what company and type of policy is best to buy? What would be your opinion. I’m mid 60s in good health. Hardly drink don’t smoke exercise 5 days a week. I know the insurance companies set up to confuse and they’ve done a good job with me. I defy you to name a Thai lawyer with the following attributes; Honesty, a Clear Knowledge of Thai Law, Who will take positive legal action against another Thai Lawyer or Policeman and not be intimidated by an agent for the criminal, his lawyer or the Lawyers Council. Request a list of barred Thai Lawyers from the Lawyers Council and find a media outlet that will expose these cheats. You can find neither. It’s a toss up in a Thai court who is the bigger criminal the defendant or his lawyer. It’s a mugs game. I give you an eg. Ring a Thai lawyer and ask them to explain Section 46 or 357 of the criminal code. They will call you back when they have checked. I once asked the legal representative of AMLO this same question at a meeting. She looked at me bemused. I said do you know Section 46 and 357 she shook her head. I said your a qualified lawyer? She nodded again. I said if a client asks you about these sections what will you do? I will check online. That about sums it all up. Now you know why the judge commented; and you trust your Thai lawyer to the guy in court.

There lies the problem. Thailand has lawyers, but as I heard a Judge say in court to a man who carried out full diligence : ‘And you trusted a Thai lawyer? That was your second biggest mistake’There isn’t a document in Thailand that can’t have a forged signature on it and a Thai lawyer who will witness it. When you have a system and people operating it only to happy and willing to abuse it especially where a foreigner is involved.

My friend knew her very well. They spoke recently at a fashion shoot the girl told my friend that he was her first love and often beat her and put his gun to her head. He was insanely jealous. It’s apparently common knowledge in her friend circle. My friend advised her to leave him. She said she was scared to do so but reasoned that he loves me too much to kill me.
