The army will hesitate to move in until there's really no longer another option. A coup(as we know it from here in the past) is not possible - it will be a hard fight.

this afternoon I popped into a rice-mill near Bangkok. It was abandoned, no gate guards and completely empty with 2 old trucks being parked there. No people around at all. It looked like someone was fleeing in a hurry. The place is otherwise in good condition, but so empty now.

a friend of mine observed an alleged recruitment event in an open restaurant about 9 days ago. Even the stuff was very inconvenient with their presence.
