WE know monitoring goes on everywhere and in Britain it's getting as childish as here.
I had a call from a great pal in Cardiff yesterday and he said there's concern over a situation where a woman sent a message to her friend in which she said if PM David Cameron visited her area she would throw an egg at him.
Two days later she was visited by the police.

There is free speech here as long as it meets with approval from the government and the reds.

Maybe after Nigeria he could fly up to Egypt and give them the benefit of the Thai experience personally, it would look at the Security Council.

He's going overseas without YL ? That could get him fired.

I count 10 of the BIB in or trying to get into the picture. If they had only crushed they might have managed another 10.
Do they realise how ridiculous it looks ?

I've seen two articles on this and although his function as journalist and editor is highlighted there's no suggestion what political line, if any, his paper follows. I'm guessing they criticise the government.

PTT Chemical Group chemical engineers no where in the article even as an assist of resources. Showing a little concern for the environment, the people, and the country.
In addition no government agency or official has criticised or is seen to be putting the arm on them.
All pals together and vested intrests ?

The initial denial said there would be accommodation and expenses but no fee for taking part in the actual forum which with his track record is impossible to believe.
What i am waiting for is the truth of come out accidentally as Thai officialdom loves to be seen involved in the action and they can't keep their mouths shut.

Wow, she actually attended official duties in Thailand

They are up against some pretty stiff competition and given their problems that the US (Permanent seat holder) have been urging them to fix for years I don't think they have a chance in Hell. They have a lot of work to do first like getting their house in order, corruption at the highest levels people trafficking, Freedom of speech and the ivory trade just to name a few.
Australia spent tens of millions of dollars over 4 years to get a temporary place. Thailand would have more chance in hosting the Olympics and that is a stupid dream.
Yes many countries have been staking a claim for decades and the Security Council club is never easily persuaded but aahh they have not seen the benefit of Thainess.
Copying his PM the permanent rep probably wouldn't turn up to meetings as he would have to take the wife, mia noi or whoever " chopping " in Manhattan

Of course he's being paid....his regular fee would be in the vicinity of $500K for a talk....$8900/hour as reported in the int. press last night....
If the media here have the nerve to ask him about it he will dodge the issue or completely deny it but as soon as he opens his mouth ... !

I have no idea how the prisons work here other than being highly suspect but the prison's officials claim he was denied access to the lawyers.
Nothing is ever clear cut here but I suppose since the lawyers are not actually representing the suspect there could be grounds for denying access unless they make special application rather than a routine interview BUT nothing it ever what it seems.

Ordinary people take on officialdom and win, who do they think they are ? Too much face involved but the courts and the system have their part to play and not allow frivolous appeals to drag on.
Courts issue orders that are ignored, what's wrong with people going behind bars for contempt ?

Was his driver tracking the train in case it all too much for him ?
It doesn't say how he returned to Bkk but not by train I bet, free air travel is available.

Many arrive and get a job in a " hole in the wall " language school, get a couple of months salary and move on to other parts of the region without telling the school they are going.
To be fair some work in more reputable schools and do hang around but for those intent in getting the best out of their gap year Thailand is only a jumping off point because it's easy to get to on cheap flights.

This country really does live in its own world, advice to Egypt and now membership of the Security Council. They are unlikely to be top dogs in the AEC but want a part in the really big world that for most Thais doesn't exist.

I wouldn't put it past Blair trying to charge that kind of money, he wrecked the country then wandered out the door to make himself a multi millionaire leaving the rest of us with the bills.
He and his horrible grasping wife were a blight on Britain, I can't believe anyone takes him seriously.
When he left office the Americans pushed for his appointment as the Middle East Envoy as a thank you for being George W's lapdog. He makes a pretty penny on lecture tours in the US as they are about the only ones who will listen to him.
The government are claiming only one invited guest wants paid and the other will give their time for free, certainly doesn't sound like Tony and this government happily throws money they don't have around.

When the spill first happened there was the usual stampede of officials denying there was a problem and pulling that stupid seafood eating stunt. They were claiming no problems before really exhaustive tests could have been made and now the truth is coming out but how long will they keep it up ?
I note to that PTT have gone very quiet.

What a load of BS....Everyone knows that in Thailand students are strongly discouraged from having ideas
and unless you are an absolute nobody with no family name and no funds for tea money it's almost impossible to fail an exam or fail to graduate.

He was often absent from duty and might have been doing drugs yet nothing much was done apart from a transfer. A television report quoted a colleague as saying he was good man but did have bad temper. As usual the BIB do nothing until it's too late.
Thai BIBs are... Thai, first and foremost.
TSK, TSK, TSK!!! Farang cannot understand Thainess.
From Thai manual of procedures

5- Law and order officers are first and foremost chroniclers of events.
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

The actual investigating / arresting officers were probably doing something more important than to be allowed to pose, maybe out in the compound washing the boss' car.
