Learn how to fight please!
I found a good strategy in south-east Asia, when confronted by an aggresive person is to point and scream "look out!! An elephant!!", then run like <deleted> as they turn around... This worked for me in Luang Prabang last year - no aggressive man but a boy with a humongous water gun during sonkran. He was all lined up to blast me off my scooter, but I shouted out in Lao "look out!! an elephant!". Since elephants on the streets of this town are not that unusual, he automatically swung round to look behind him and I was GONE.......

Any “ preppers “ here?
From years of living in Myanmar, I already have: - solar panels, solar controller, 12v DC/220v AC inverter, water filter, solar lights etc etc (just a normal part of everyday living in Myanmar lol!)

Terror At Bondi Beach As Gunmen Slaughter Festival Crowd
Are all Muslims potential terrorists? Of course not. But Islamic attacks in Europe are now an almost daily event. To minimise the risk of injury/death to innocent poeple, it's important to remove all Muslims from our community. because (unfortunately), the Muslim community has failed to 'police' itself, failed to police extremist imams, failed to police extremist Islamic teachers in their religious schools, failed to hand over those with extremist views to the police etc. Basically, the Muslim community has brought hatred/fear of Muslims upon themselves, and as a result, innocent Muslims will suffer. As for me, I wouldn't want to live within 10km of a Muslim, and I manage to do that by living in Laos 🙂

Amherst College Tuition(73K): Worth the free sex in Church?
... Don't go to Amherst if you want a first-class education, and are not a complete commie... Instead, go to Penn and get a top-flight education, maybe try The Moore School, The Natural Sciences, Medicine (Penn Medicine), and much more. ...
I went to University College, London (UCL), which seems to be ranked #22 worldwide. Amherst doesn't even appear on the list 🙂

Amherst College Tuition(73K): Worth the free sex in Church?
This is obviously an American thing.. As a Brit, I have to confess that I have never heard of Amherst College. Is it similar to Loughborough Technical College or something??

Banned for telling Muslim child Britain is a Christian country
No-one seems to have commented on the disgusting behavour of the students washing their feet in the basins. A school is for learning. If their religion requires them to wash their feet, then that and any other aspects of a non-Christian religion should be performed outside of school hours.

Do you like to travel?
Few for work, most just to visit! I can understand older folk not wanting to travel, (too much hassle etc). But if you have your health and a little money (you don't need much!), why not see the world? You might regret not traveling when you're physically unable to travel in later years...

Do you like to travel?
My mom and dad were reasonably well-off. In their retirement they could afford to travel throughout the UK and overseas. But they never did, preferring to grow old and die in the city of Leicester. My 2 older brothers are both considerably richer than me. Yet they too never travel outside the UK. No trips to sunny Spain. No long-haul trips to the dens of sin in Bangkok. They just stay at home and grow old. Me, I'm the 'black sheep' of the family, only managing a post grad from London University, not Cambridge like my brothers 🙂 I've travelled to maybe 50+ countries and of course live for many years in south-east Asia. Why don't people who have the finances and time to travel not do so? What is there to look back on when on one's deathbed?

US plans to start checking all tourists' social media
I agree. If you're a US citizen in the US, you can criticise your government etc. But a foreigner? No way. In any case, as a foreigner in Thailand, try publically criticising the government or 'another' person and see how far that gets you....

Some new names (for me at least) on the Epstein files
lol very good. Don't forget that Hawking was not always so severely disabled. I have videos that my brother made - he was a student of Hawking at Cambridge and acted as his 'translator' when his speech started to become difficult to understand. You can see the slow decline in Hawking's physical health in these videos.

Are you leaving Thailand for the burning season?
Lol, I'm years younger than FolkGuitar, but still probably also have just a few years left, thanks to my lung illness, which is not helped by the air pollution. Moving to the PI not only unfreezes my UK state pension, the air quality is better...

Any Good Reddit groups on Pattaya?
Yes! So they are just starting on the drooling, fat sex tourist with BO phase......

Are you leaving Thailand for the burning season?
I'm in Laos, having retired from in-class teaching in Myanmar. Next month I'll fly to stay in the Philippines for about 2 months, thus hopefully avoiding the worst of the burning season 🙂

British Woman, 75, Killed Crossing Road in Nonthaburi
Many years ago, after drinking too much red wine, I drove my car on the left side of the road all the way10km home on a dark mountain road in the foothills of the Pyrenees, not meeting any other car and only realising my mistake when I fell out of the car at home.....

New pension rules for UK expats (budget announcement)
During Covid times (priot to my retirement), I lived temporarily in sunny Turkey (index-linked UK pension applies but too cold in the winter for me), and also in Mauritius (again index-linked pension applies, sunny, hot but too many French!). Lol, that's a joke, sorry. I found Mauritius too 'safe' and boring for someone who has been living in the Wild west of Laos and Burma for too many years.

Most Somali people in America and Minnesota are citizens
Regardless of their original ethnicity. any person who has obtained citizenship of any country by fraud, deceit, bribery or lying etc, should lose that citizenship (regardless of how long they have held it), and they should be deported back to their home country.

King Ordered Nationwide Dry Ice Plants to Tackle PM2.5 Pollution
Yes, acid rain (caused by chemical reactions between water vapor and certain polluting gases such as sulphur dioxide), falls into your swimming pool, making the water slightly acidic which green algae love! Acid rain can rapidly turn a swimming pool bright green, but it takes much longer to kill the algae with alkaline chemicals. (I know, having run small hotels with pools that have turned green overnight!!!)

King Ordered Nationwide Dry Ice Plants to Tackle PM2.5 Pollution
I make no criticism, only a comment as a scientist. 'Dry Ice' is frozen carbon dioxide (CO2), which is the main cause of global warming, by trapping the electromagnetic solar radiation that has been reflected off the land and oceans, and which would normally pass harmlessly out into space. Instead it is re-reflected back down to the Earth, or absorbed by air gases molecules, thus leading to increased global warming. The issue of PM2.5 particles in the atmosphere is (IMHO), better tackled at source.
