Trapped Antarctic Scientists Plead for Rescue Amid Fear after Assault
simon43 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Kick him out into the cold to fight with the polar bears... oh wait a minute!! My globe was upside down... 🙂 -
I mentioned in another post that I start my reduced UK state pension in a couple of months, about 800 quid a month. I do have an online income as well, but I checked what I spend each month right now. - Rent a 35m2 studio condo in a clean building with pool, that's 300m from Jomtien Beach beach = 7,000 baht/month - rent a Thai traditional wooden house and large garden (1 rai) in the hills north of Chiang Mai = 4,000 baht/month - rent a newish Vios with full insurance provided = 8,000 baht/month - Have a $100,000 medical cover policy = 6,000 baht/month. That's 25,000 baht (2 properties, car and medical cover). My healthy food costs are minimal 🙂 I learnt from my mistakes that I made in Thailand, which were that Thai girlfriends/wives or boyfriends are a financial millstone, especially if there is family, previous kids etc. Relationships can also be very stressful. Smoking will probably kill you. Taking hard drugs will definitely shorten your life. Drinking more than 1 small bottle of beer/day is no good for your liver, smoking dope is something that hippy students do. I guess many on this forum do all of these activities, which maybe explains why there seem to be so many mentally ill people on this forum.... I have learnt to ignore most other foreigners, eat fresh Thai food/salads, socialise mostly with Thais, do charity work, enjoy my ham radio hobby, understand Thai language and culture, don't seek excessive material goods, don't be a dick. It works for me.

British Tourist Fights for Life After Tragic Accident in Phuket
...Ricky was unable to confirm his insurance status due to the extent of his injuries.
Why is his insurance details not kept with his passport? I carry my passport and private medical insurance details everywhere that I go, and have dog-tags around my neck with these and NoK details in English, Thai, Lao and Burmese! -
Thailand Offers Free HPV Vaccinations to Young Girls and Women
simon43 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Excellent news for the health of girls and women . Now will those men who self-identify as a woman be clamouring for this vaccination? 🙂 -

Bob, why do you keep changing your avatar? Nothing in the rules to say that you can't change it, but you seem to be somewhat obsessed... -
British Tourist Missing After Dive Boat Fire Near Koh Tao

I would have thought that rough seas would put a fire out! Anyway, as others have said, the sea was as flat as a millpond! -
I report many YT videos every day for failing to disclose AI
simon43 replied to simon43's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Not 'fake' but generated using AI. Having been involved in AI development some 25 years ago, I believe that use of AI should always be disclosed. Should we allow students to submit homework created by Chat GPT? -
Thais have a phrase for that: "You tink too mut" and I would agree with them, judging from most of your posts. Medicine won't help IMHO. You need to change your attitude....

Thailand Chooses Cities for Future Casino Complexes

Pattaya is in Chonburi province. I think they are simply trying to avoid using the word 'Pattaya'. Update: Others beat me to it! -
I report many YT videos every day for failing to disclose AI
simon43 replied to simon43's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I assume that the YT algorithm notes that I open many of these videos to check if the thumbnail/front image is AI without notification of that. Then the algorithm assumes that I love watching these videos and posts similar videos! Aah!! I can't win. I'm still not sure why YT posts many videos of gimp suits, but that's another matter 🙂 As to bare-chested men, I would complain about such lack of manners in whatever country I would be living in. Bare chests belong on the beach, not in a restaurant or shopping mall. It's quite amazing how many people (of all nationalities) seemed to have missed out on learning basic good manners. -
I report many YT videos every day for failing to disclose AI

Can you suggest some? For many years I have been a radio amateur, talking with other (mostly men) on the other side of the world about my huge erection (I mean my antenna erection of course). But mid-conversation I often fall asleep from sheer boredom when they get excited about the size of their erections... -
I report many YT videos every day for failing to disclose AI
simon43 replied to simon43's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It is! I can't win at this. But it gives me something to do between my other hobby of telling men to cover their bare-chests when walking in the street or mall and not actually at the beach. As for men wearing shorts in similar locations, don't get me started 🙂 -
These are the 'shorts' that appear on my YT page. Videos that depict a polar bear covered in honey bees and being rescued by a fisherman, or an old man on TV changing into a muscle man before our very eyes. It's obviously created by AI, but there is no statement at the start of the video clip that this is AI, and many might assume that this really is a real polar bear covered in bees. ... and that I find unacceptable. These clips have millions of views, and are obviously making money for their creators. But IMHO it's fraud, making money by misleading the gullible. I report any videos as they appearI. I have nothing against AI, but IMHO the use of AI should be disclosed to the viewer at the start of the video. YT does take down about 10% of the videos that I report, but clearly they are making attracting millions of viewers and I guess YT considers me as "Mr Complainer of Clapham"...

She has started asking for money
simon43 replied to Magpiefan1892's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Years ago, a bar-girl that I knew asked me for 50,000 baht for an urgent operation for her mum, who had been involved in a bad car accident and gone through the windscreen. I politely declined and she sadly said OK. 2 days later, I learnt from another foreign friend that he had visited her mom in hospital, but that she died due to lack of funds to pay for the required operation 😞 The 30 baht scheme is not universal. You need to be registered as a Thai person into that scheme. Her mum was hill-tribe, and therefore not covered under the scheme. -
There is no such thing as happiness.
simon43 replied to Robert_Smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Rich people striving to be richer usually are more stressed than poorer folk. High blood pressure, anger issues, diabetes from eating rich food etc... good luck to them. I'm relatively poor. Without the trappings of fast cars, fast women, consumer goods etc, I'm very happy with my life. Why do I need more than 2 pairs of shoes (one pair for running and one pair for everything else)? I only have 2 feet. Why do I need many shirts and trousers? I only have one body to clothe. Why do I need gold rings, bracelets and so on? I don't need to impress anyone and surely to my God no woman would love me without the $$$ (all 3 of my ex-wives were only in it for the $$$ from me). I'm not a Buddhist, but following a modest lifestyle without consumer goods has helped me to be stress-free and relatively healthy. (It also saves on checked-in luggage costs!) -
Using Peganum Harmala to improve BPH symptoms
simon43 replied to simon43's topic in Health and Medicine
1 - the human dosage mentioned in the medical research is1 gram of seeds per day. According to their research, this was the most effective dosage against ESBL E.coli. (Bear in mind that my research was into natural treatment of ESBL E.Coli, not into treatment for BPH) Please search again on Lazada. I will not post the Lazada link because I don't want to be accused of promoting something that medical professionals might claim is 'snake oil'. 2 - Yes, I take 1 gram daily. I have not experienced any negative side effects. I don't know if my ESBL E.Coli infection is still present because I would need another urine culture test. But my BPH symptoms are much-reduced, no need to take prescribed medication, no desperate urge to pee, no need to pee at night, fairly strong pee stream. All good stuff 🙂 -

It was my UK registered address, also registered with my UK GP and electoral register... I was not to know that the hotel manager was a thieving git. Prior to posting the second card to me Wise assured me that they would send it inactivated. Which they did not! -

@jori123, are you actually writing in English? I find it rather difficult to understand your posts!
