After a few mishaps with these boogie sellers (Lazada, Shopee, etc.), I've decided to buy everything at a shop where I can see the quality and, if needed, test it before buying. Saved me already a lot of money and no complaints about my purchase.

Road safety Here is how it could be done in Thailand
Confuscious replied to norbra's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I simply don't understand why some people come to Thailand because they are supposed to love this country but want to turn Thailand into a copy of their own miserable country. Would you like if your country would adhere tomorrow to Sharia law and Islam rules? Stop showing your "Superiority behavior" and go with the flow. -
Bank insists I wear a mask
Confuscious replied to happydays's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If 99.99% of the people in a place wear a mask, then put on a mask as well. Stop being the unwanted foreigner in Thailand who shows his superiority. Otherwise, use your tiny brains and stay away from Thailand. And, keep your stupid replies to yourself. They have no value for me or anyone living in Thailand. -
Government Highlights Road Safety Ahead of Upcoming Holiday Weekends
Confuscious replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
by Natthaphon Sangpolsit BANGKOK (NNT) - Authorities are urging holidaymakers to exercise caution and follow traffic regulations throughout the month’s long weekends. According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Traisuree Taisaranakul, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed concern about public safety during the three long weekends throughout this month. He also instructed the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Interior, the Royal Thai Police and other state agencies to ensure public convenience while strictly enforcing traffic laws and regulations in order to minimize accidents during the holidays. The premier encouraged holiday motorists to be extra cautious and make all necessary preparations, as well as prepare themselves physically for driving. He added that drivers and motorists should strictly obey traffic laws to avoid road accidents, which are a major cause of severe and fatal accidents in Thailand. According to the Accident Data Center of Thailand, 13,042 accident-related deaths were reported this year between January 1 and November 23, with over 834,130 people injured and 145 people disabled. Source: https://thainews.prd.go.th/en/news/detail/TCATG221204170139012 -- © Copyright NNT 2022-12-05 The same BS as every year. Thai and foreigner traffic deaths/injured equally high the WHOLE YEAR around!!!! If the Prime Ministers and his croony government would be serious in tackling this situation, he would order the destruction of these air-conditionned boxes where a few cops are sleeping the whole day or looking at sex movie on their phones and order the lousy cops to go moniter the traffic on the streets. But, this being Thailand, that will never happen. A half hour ago, while driving home. a bus driving on the speeding lane at 60 km/hr and causing a traffic jam, suffered an engine failure and came suddenly to a full stop. Luckely, the traffic was already in a jam and the cars behind the bus could stop in time. Otherwise it would have been a big disaster again. Get the lousy cops out of their AC-boxes and send them on the streets where they belong !!!!!. -
Red Bull case: Former senior prosecutor discharged from service
Confuscious replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The "Red Bull Case" will go into Thai history as the case which pointed all the greedy and <deleted> of the Thai Lawmakers. That will be 1 good merit point about the case. -
That's exactly the same for every embassy. That is not the task from the Embassy.

Over 130 cars sold illegally by “car for cash” dealer seized by police
Confuscious replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Surprised that they have named the dealer "Car for Cash". Wonder if the "Car for Cash (Chonburi)" company will launch a defamation suit to get their money back. -
Food delivery rider crushed to death by a truck in Chonburi
Confuscious replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
The food delivery company should be made to pay all the damages. This way they may learn to hire ONLY delivery drivers who abide the traffic laws and not the cowboy drivers who makes the traffic a hell for everybody. I know that these drivers are trying to make a living, but this should not be at the risk of other road users. -
Thailand going cashless. Are you for or against it?
Confuscious replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I have nothing against Thailand going "cashless". But I fear the way it is done to be a major burden for expats and tourists. Every day, applications are changing to be only accepted with a Thai ID-Card, and thus unavailable for expats. Even ATM's are being equipped with an ID-Card reader. Although not functional at this moment, one can foresee that in the near future they will be only available for Thai citizens who have a Thai ID-Card (like PayPal). Also, I see that many stores (even bars) use "Thai Pay" for a bill as low as 35 Baht. But "Thai Pay" is only available for Thai people. PayPal is already ONLY for Thai people. Wait and see for the near future .... -
I have at home a tree that need to be removed. I browsed for "tree (stump) removal" and found at Lazada the product "Tordon" which claims to remove trees/stumps. Does anybody have used this product before and what were the results? Does anybody know about other similar products? TIA

Confuscious replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Years ago, my daughter was showing signs of depression. I asked everybody, including the school and the hospital, if they knew of a Psycholog/Psychiater and their answer was that there was not such thing in Thailand. -
Citrus Extract Spray Prevents Covid, influenza
Confuscious replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Are you the foreigner who is walking around without mask while 99% of the people are wearing a mask? What a pityful sight of an obnoxious foreigner not respecting the mask wearing of the other 99%. -
Not in the UK, but I guess it was a "developed nation. The People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson was a criminal trial in Los Angeles County Superior Court in which former National Football League player, broadcaster and actor O. J. Simpson was tried and acquitted for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. Wikipedia

"She called on the Thai justice system to get more serious about DUI like in many countries abroad. " Don't know in what cloud she is living, but these kind of sentences are STANDARD all the world over. A movie "A shroud has no pockets" was made after a famous football player under DUI killed a pedestrian and went free (France).
