Time to invest in a few tug boats.

RIP, Keith Richards.

Sadly, from living in Thailand for many years, I would say that many, if not most Thai men have the capability of such an attack (and subsequent fleeing) inside them.
-
or even a CB500 if you have work permit and willing to pay over 1-2 years payments, very easy for re-sell.
You must be joking!
-
You need a NOn O visa and a work permit and a work pemit or residencce certificate from immigration.
Incorrect.
Different officials may work by their own rules because they do not know them though, or perhaps just do not care about them and enjoy refusing a farang as it makes them feel a little bit of power over them, which may help with their Thai emotional issues.

When in sentencing?
When is sentencing?
He is still considered innocent!
Wonder if the bar girl was drunk by the time her BF came to pick her up at that time.

The benefits of a Thai driving licence?
You can velcro it to your forehead so everyone knows you're not a tourist.
Thus you get more respect.

Amazing how many people here have such little self-respect for themselves.
'You You. You give me money now.'
'Absolutely Sir, how much should I give you Sir?'
'Hehe, another idiot giving me money for nothing. These farangs are so stupid. Quick here comes another one. You you, you give me money now'.
Sad.

I just got back. Skip all the touts along the way and it's always 800 baht if you pay in baht. If you pay in dollars, they demand up to 200 baht extra AT the immigration window. Some of the corrupt police try to say things like: 'It' 300 baht if I stamp you out and you have to change 500 baht.' Just say, 'no I don't.' Then move on!!! They really don't care what you say or think. These corrupt police there have a very bad reputation, but no problems at the window when I've been there multiple times over the past several years.
Good to see they've dropped it from 1000b demands to 800b. I notice that as soon as they see you are not an idiot and you simply say no, they see your years of Non-Imm visas etc. all the nonsense is dropped and they just do their job.
I'll be buying a $20 note in one of the exchange places there and not paying a satang more than that to the corrupt officials.

Met a teacher once who said he was doing a 'My Alphabet Book' with his kids.
He went to the toilet and the Head of the EP, (M.A. TESOL) who was in there watched over them.
He came back and the board had been changed to 'My Alphabets Book'. He just laughed.
There is no hope for these people due to their mindset.

When you renew next time they will be valid for 5 years.
That's what the wifey said but apparently it's 1 year for farangs and 5 years for Thais.
I asked the wifey to go back and ask for sure and we were told the same. This is up in Sakon Nakhon (not that it makes any difference).
I actually thought I was part of the Thai society
Incorrect.
She's probably been fed xenophobic lies by people who haven't a clue.
I was told by a nice intelligent Thai woman that my motorbike is very nice, but it's a shame that such a nice expensive vehicle cannot be owned by me. (with a smirk)
What do you mean?
Because you cannot own anything here.
Oh right. (removes the pillion seat to show her the copy of the green book listing the motorbike in my name). I think somebody was joking with you. (with a smirk)
Thai woman gets angry, panics and walks away quickly.
After your 1 yr license is expired you simply renew it and are given a 5 yr one. If an idiot employee at the local DoLT says you as a foreigner cannot, take their name and number, and I'll PM you copies of both my 5 yr motorbike and car licenses.
-
That's dumb. Killing someone who owes you millions. Should just torture her to pay it back.
The debt is just passed on.
With the incentive to pay intensified.
-
If he was as clever as her, he'd still be PM. Poor little fella is just jealous.

I wonder what goes through a Thai English teacher's mind when they see a half farang kid sat in their English class.
Fear (of being corrected or challenged at a later point)
Resentment.
Jealousy.
What's for lunch, somtam gai yang or red ant eggs and leaves.

They wash and iron clothes for money.
Quite simple really.
Especially the ironing where there is really no overhead. Virtually all profit.
-
Getting insurance for a bike without a green-book is often no problem at all.
You need to give it them when it's time for them to pay out.
-
Ha!
Meanwhile what they are actually DOING is selecting the best English language students in each school and sending them to take the tests which rank the school (!!!). At least that is what is going on in the NE.
It happened with my daughter.
After letting the Thai system have there way with her for the past 4 years, I am taking her out and homeschooling her again. When I put her in, she tested 2 grades above her peers. Earlier this year, she tested 2 grades behind her peers. Now, she's back to level with her international peers, which is of course FAR above her local peers.
Good luck to those who depend on this FAIL education system. At least those kids will know how to sweep floors, sing songs, and cheat...but not much else.
I have a young daughter here. How do you do the testing of her and get the level of her international peers?

well don't then ha ha ,what a nugget ,,you are exactly the type of tool I was on about,,,why post?I personally wouldn't step foot in Pattaya or a village. Not an Isaan village anyway.
But hey, different folk.
Why respond calling someone a nugget because they have a different opinion to yourself.
Yup, seems Pattaya and an Isaan village are about your worth.

Said it before and I will say it again, I am scared to travel in Thailand anymore no matter the method of transport.
Must be what is keeping you here.

They're covering up the flag so that no one knows its a Thai plane!
I don't think I will EVER understand why Thais CARE SO MUCH about how other people view them, and what other people think of them. Face. I just don't get it.
Deep insecurity combined with nationalistic conditioning since birth and more than a dash of egotistical delicacy.
