It seems to me that the majority of those that have successfully obtained a 'yellow book' and 'pink' Thailand I.D. card find them useful.

Those that haven't or have been unsuccessful find it a waste of time and effort.

Different offices have different stipulations. TiT. Sometimes it's just luck on who you are dealing with.

IMHO, both documents are useful to have but not a life breaker if you haven't.

Not sure what you're eating but it sure isn't meat ...... I believe you said the same thing a few months ago on another thread. Oh well.  

With my old LG tv I have to select HDMI 2 using the input button on the remote control.

AFAIK, No UK bank will open a new account for non-residents, I totally agree. 

I've had a Nationwide account for over 40 years and have had no UK address for over 15 years. They have always had my current address on record in whatever country I have lived in, Spain, China and now Thailand. Debit cards have always been automatically sent to my current address and card readers on request. I am not on any electoral role in the UK. I think Nationwide B/S is an exception in that they are willing to keep an account open if the customer maintains a positive balance.

I believe interest on accounts is now paid in full regardless of status, not deducted at source. It is up to the individual to declare it for tax purposes.

It's been over 6 months now since my dogs and others were poisoned and I still think of them daily. I miss them both so much.

The neighbours that weren't 'dog friendly' now realise that it was my dog Ben, who kept the soi 'stray free', he was definitely the alpha male around here. We are now inundated with strays chasing up and down looking for bitches on heat!

As for those on here, and the one who poisoned your dogs,  who hate soi dogs and just want to kill them off, I hope that there is a special hell for morons like that.    

About 2 months ago, a dog similar to my Ben came running into my yard one evening seeking refuge from a pack of dogs trying to mate with her, obviously she was on heat. She was in such a sorry state, battle scarred and malnourished so I gave her some left-overs to eat and some fresh water. After about an hour, she wandered off into the night. The following few nights I did have a look around the area to see if I could find her but to no avail.

Then 5 weeks ago, she just appeared from nowhere on my balcony one evening. Tail wagging, hungry and thirsty but so friendly. She didn't want to leave so when I went to bed I left the gate slightly ajar. The next morning she was still here. It was almost as this was her home .... It is now!

Fully vaccinated, spayed (along with 5 unborn pups) and up to a normal weight, I can't believe how much she looks and behaves like Ben. Also she is liked by the surrounding neighbours because she has the same traits as Ben, she's becoming the soi custodian! According to more than one local, she's the daughter of Ben!

I don't live in a tourist area but certain places expect a tip from foreigners because it's what they have got used to, especially the 2-3 bars that the foreigners frequent in the local area. I don't understand why people tip in these places, over-priced beer and food with lousy service, even the lazy waitresses look like an advert for Michelin tyres! 

Now I will often say keep the change after eating out (if under B40) if I've had decent service, normally it's gratefully received. Poor service then definitely no tip.

I know a guy who is a generous 'tipper' who thinks he will get special attention next time by tipping. If it makes him feel fuzzy good inside then good for him, I'd rather save it up for a donation to the local school for the blind. A good family friend told me that excess tipping by anyone is considered a character weakness and is frowned upon (but obviously accepted!)
