something weird about people who feel they have to have dogs stinking the house out, making a racket and drooling all over the place, cats I can understand but dogs are just disgusting animals.

I was waiting for your negative comment, I knew it would come sooner rather than later. I honestly feel sorry for you, I really do.

    No they can't.

If you have evidence they can, please post a link to the court case.

I never said they have, I said they can.

Please post me a link to say they can't.

This really does go around in a never ending circle!

I'm due my full UK state pension in 2 years time and I'll not disclose that I live in Thailand. Am I committing fraud? Yes.

Will I still sleep soundly at night? Yes

  3. Can you be prosecuted for receiving the UK pension annual increases when you claim to live in the UK when you actually live in Thailand? Yes (It is fraud)

Will you be prosecuted? Highly unlikely but likely to issue you with a penalty payment.

Can the DWP impose that penalty on your state pension? No but can make make deductions from it only if you agree.

In most cases, if you do fraudulently claim the state pension increases, they impose a penalty that sits on your record and would be deducted from any other benefits you might claim unless you agree to a fixed amount deducted from your state pension until the penalty and the amount that has been falsely paid to you is fully recovered.

The State Pension is described in legislation as a “benefit” in order to root it within the existing social security framework as a statutory scheme paid out of monies in the National Insurance Fund.

Can the DWP look at my bank account?

The DWP can look at your bank account and social media if it has reasonable grounds to suspect you might be involved in benefit fraud. For example, they can request information from your bank if they suspect that you didn’t disclose all the capital you held in your bank account.

  4. Making a will is quite easy if that is what you want to do for peace of mind and if you want to be specific on who gets what, especially if you are not married. This is where the problems can occur and it is illegal for someone to touch a deceased foreign persons assets without probate.

Now if you are married and are happy with your spouse to get all then the law of succession covers the wife and there is no need to make a will if that is your wish. As said previously, marriage and death certificate will suffice.

  5. I really can't see what the problem is concerning writing a will to protect your assets for whoever.
    Either you use a lawyer who knows about this and pay the fees or;

Write the will yourself (plenty of basic templates for terminology available on the web)
Get it translated into Thai and certified.
Register the will at the local amphur.

To me, this is the most easiest and secure way in Thailand.

Don't forget to name the executor.

Writing a will is a necessary evil if you want your assets to go to the person/s you deem deserve them.

If you don't then watch the vultures from above descend in their various forms to have a pick at the cherry.

AFAIK, In Thailand a court order has to be obtained to withdraw money from an account of a deceased foreigner, even if a nominee has been given the right to do it.

  6. I've got a 120 bar Zinsano pressure washer. Works great!

Funny enough, I removed the black/green slime build-up outside on my concrete drive this morning ... No problem!

Make sure the washer you buy has the correct attachments, some haven't got the rotating circular attachment that is specifically for cleaning hard surfaces etc.

Haven't seen or noticed much increases in costs apart from fuel and bread.

    Vegetarian are we? ????
Pork and chicken have seen huge increases in the last few months especially chicken in the last 3 months. I cook most of the meals for my family, whether it be Thai or Western cuisine as they're out working so I buy the food! Within the last year chicken breasts have gone from about B45 kg to over B100 kg in Big C yesterday.
