what are you on about, if it is against the will of the people she wont be re-elected
Democracy could be a wonderful form of society ...
.... If the majority of people would be well educated, well informed and well intended
but what if the majority is not ?
(Btw I am far from apologizing dictatorship, tyranny or their likes)
-
a lonely voice of wisdom in the EU
-
a politician reigning against the will of the people dares to intend being reelected
- unbelievable
and probably she will be reelected
- even more unbelievable
if this is democracy ...

You should not tell lies, because you are quite clearly trying to rewrite history, no one believes this.
you mean:
no one with a fixed biased opinion without any realtionship to reality

I am positive some Shin haters were talking about the rice pledging scheme bankrupting the country. I hope this put the matter to bed. Debt to GDP at 42.73% is still relatively low and the rice scheme only represent a mere 6.7% of the public debt.
That's bad enough isn't it?
Youi need not be a "Shin hater" to understand that they caused big damage to the country

The opposition, there is no opposition currently. As to pointing fingers, at least he didn't stage a coup with some lame excuse...
lame excuse?
without that coup Thailand would be down the drain already. It was about time to remove that criminal mafia government.
I'm not a friend of coupes btw. In particular when they hit a democratic government (I mean real democratic, not just by the name). But at that time, with that puppet government an the crime against the rice farmers and in that situation, I couldn't think of a better solution. I think it was the duty of people who intended good for the country.

hit by their own guns

Merkel to stand for fourth term as German Chancellor
An insult to the intelligence of the people
-
Oh yes, it's good to hear her voice.
Her government showed such an outstanding performance - and she was a perfect example of helping the rice farmers
-
leaving the scene probably not ok, but more than understandable knowing what can happen in Thailand.
Covering the costs for the boy? No reason.
It was his (and his parent's) fault for not taking care of him - they should cover the costs for the damage of her car
and the father "graciously" .... Screwed idiot. Of cause it was an accident, caused by him and his son. He should apologize with a wai to her.
While this is my opinion I am happy that the boy recovered. The accident was caused by him - but he is not guilty.
-
good news - more of this please aren't there some other guys still on bail undeserved?
-
Be fair to us, don't damage our image ...
I am sure everybody will be fair to the Thai police,
if they find out the Thai police is fair to the people

There's a lot of people there to wish her well. It took her 10 minutes to wade through the crowd to the front door of the court house.
must have cost her a bunch of money

It's a sad commentary on Thailand and its police force that it takes the Army to step in and (hopefully) bring some law and order to one of many lawless places.
sad but true

This comment will probably go to the history as one of the most peculiar and sad ones.
Did you really make that one up yourself, or did someone help you?If you are the owner or caretaker of someone or something that can cause a danger to other people or other peoples belongings then you are responsible for every damage caused by that.
No matter if guilty or not.
This is called liability regardless of fault. In my country we have a law of that kind. Probably in other countries as well. Get real. The parents would be liable even if they could not have avoided the accident. But - they could by taking care of the boy and teaching him of traffic danges.
Same as you let your dog roam free - it causes an accdident - you are liable.

Really?
Yes it may not good parenting but driver also travelling to fast to stop thus avoiding child being knocked down AND then leaving the scene of the collision (NOT accident) without assistance to the child.
A cowardly act by uncaring driver!
too fast to stop?
You mean 5 miles an hour?
You serious?

kids make mistakes all the time. watching him before the hit, it is clear he is excited with the rain and probably going some place with his brother ... normal ... healthy kid stuff. it is heartbreaking to see him run out into the rain and get hit by a car. but he ran into the middle of the road from behind a parked car. why? it does not matter now.
the car hit a child and the driver knew it happened. then did not do the right thing and stop to help, regardless of culpability. the humane thing to do is to stop and help. this matters. if they lied about it, then this matters.
as a parent, we know how kids are. their excitement and enthusiasm is what keeps the world turning, for christsake. sometimes, I think kids and dogs are the most spiritually whole embodiment of GOOD there is in the world. sometimes. they cannot control themselves with excitement. or sadness. they do not filter. innocent.
"... they cannot control themselves with excitement. or sadness. they do not filter. innocent. "
That 's why the parents should show responsibility and teach them about how to avoid dangers and take care of them and watch and protect them in potentially dangerous situations.
