Did you hear the term gronk?
No, but there were probably lots of other Ozzie slang words that I never heard too.
Australian Slang, (noun) A person that is totally lacking in fashion sense, motor skills and/or social skills. Usually a total moron, an extremely unpleasant person or an unwanted guest.
Sometimes: A likeable idiot or Bogan (especially in Queensland)1. No wonder he can't get a girlfriend, he is such a gronk!
2. Why would you "steal my car for the weekend," you gronk!- 1

Looks like a surname.
It must be a very common surname. Maybe it's a regional thing?

no one has died i think it the thing you are always told. put down the reefer step away from the grinder.
I would never smoke it, although I have a few times in the past (I gave up smoking tobacco 3 years ago). One good thing to be said for it is that it makes me sleep. It would have to be eaten in the future.
I've often heard people say such things when they're trying to make a case for it's legalisation. They're all peace-loving hippies, apparently!- 1

Gronk? Never heard of it
I look at a page on Facebook called "S*** Towns Of Australia", quite often there will be a report of a "Gronk" doing unspeakable things in public in Port Pirie (Which usually heads the list of the most s*** towns). Some of it is quite funny too!????

He can't possibly have been smoking that stuff?! We're told that in the history of humanity no person has ever caused any problem whatsoever after smoking pot!

There have been very few death sentences carried within the past decade. So, why are they now discussing this, but only for foreigners?
I happen to support the death sentence, when the crime is heinous, and when there are witnesses and sufficient evidence. Why keep them alive? Certain crimes are essentially a self revocation of the right to consume oxygen. But, can DNA evidence and the courts be trusted here?
In fact, Thailand does allow the death penalty, but it is rarely applied.
The federation said the kingdom would have achieved the status of "de facto abolitionist" had it not carried out any executions before August 24, 2019 — which would have represented 10 years after the last death sentences were carried out.

Thailand has never executed a farang anyway. It will be commuted to life imprisonment, then they serve 8 years in a Thai prison, before being transferred to a prison in their home country.

As grisly as it was dumb.
He might as well have dropped the bag off at the police station instead of the dump.
Everyone here knows that their Thai garbage is picked over many times for recyclables, and anything of value by scavengers before being burned.
Well, at least he'll have the rest of his life to think about it cooking inside a sweltering Thai prison.
Apparently The Mob used to dump bodies in the garbage dump just outside NYC?
Just guessing that there was a money-angle to this crime? -

Yes. Maybe 3 years ago. Another dismemberment as well. Stuffed the victim into a freezer.
I think it was 7 years ago, 2016, when I still lived there.

Yes, he got the death penalty from the 2016 Chao Praya body parts murder, but got commuted to life by royal pardon on the 68th b/day of the King.
Yes, thanks, I thought it was around that time.

That's only 3 weeks plus public holidays, in Germany I got 6 weeks plus public holidays. Standards vary according to where you live.
That's actually 4 weeks and 1 day of holiday, if you take into account that a working week is 5 days.
I worked in Germany for a short while. One thing I noticed was that there was NO WAY that you were gonna get (most) Germans working on a Sunday.
-
Many years ago I had a Thai girlfriend who was a hotel receptionist. Besides public holidays she was only given 6 days per annum as holiday days to take whenever she wanted. (In my current job in the UK I get public holidays + 21 days when I want them).

Can someone explain to me how you can tell they are Russian, or any nationality unless in conversation with them.
We were on Phuket this year, and I saw/met one couple. Only knew they was Russian, as the Aussie at the pool asked him where he was from.
Although, with that observation, I can honestly say, more than 33% of the int'l tourist I met on Phuket were Russian.
Talked with 1 Iranian, 1 Aussie couple, and 1 Russian couple.
Since I'm an expat, wife/Thai, we don't count as int'l tourist.
So I can honestly say Phuket is being overrun with Iranians, Aussies & Russians ????
My old Swedish friend and I used to try guessing where farang were from, just by looking (and listening) Socks & sandals "probably British" ????
I found the hardest to be eastern Europeans due to their unintelligible languages! ????????

No sour grapes at all when the libido has been disappearing anyway. For the last 5 years that I lived in Thailand I never bothered with that stuff.
