  1. A soi cat regularly comes to my house to deposit her kittens. On many occasions, on looking under the bonnet before starting, I have found up to 4 kittens cuddled up together inside.
  2. I used to work seasonally for Royal Mail at a sorting office. Many compaies (icluding DWP) outsource their mail to computerised companies. This mail is then run through a Postcode reading machine which checks the amount of postage paid against the destination and, if they do not match rejects the item. At the end of the shift these rejects are collected, sorted and returned to sender, Many of the company computers were not programmed to put any more than UK 2nd class postage on all and could not distinguish the need for extra postage on overseas items. What happened to those returns, I do not know, but I would be surprised to find that there was any mechanism to send them out again with the correct postege.
  3. Coming from the west of Scotland overlooking the Atlantic Ocean the lack of wind.
  4. I have used Firefox as my prefered browser for many years. Today, I tried to stream several videos from Youtube without success. All would immediately go into buffering mode instead of starting. I tried videos from other sources with the same result. I then switched to Opera and they all worked perfectly. What is happening and how can I correct it?
  5. This will only last until the net brown envelope.
  6. I did several jumps in the early 197s. It was forcefully drummed into us IF THE MAIN SHUTE FAILS TO OPEN PULL THE RESERVE IMMEDIATELY DO NOT FART ABOUT TRING TO OPEN THE MAIN. I never had a shute failure but this man did exactly as he had been trained to do.
  7. Is it a prime opportunity for the Army?
  8. Thank you Dr Jack , your entry is to the point. I would still like an actual report from somebody who has successfully used that method.
  9. My Krungthai bank record my transfers from UK as XISDT alongside the entry.
  10. The USA tried very hard to keep out of it while enriching its arms industry by billions. At the end of the war only the USA emerged with its economy enhanced. In fact the arms sales to Europe finally dragged the USA out of the lingering legacy of the great depression. Europe, especially the UK bankrupted itself holding off German aggression and the first US troops did not arrive until 1943 when the tide in Europe had turned.
  11. The options offered are irrelevant thank you. I am enquiring about about what will be accepted as proof of income. My bank can supply a print out of one years entries showing pension from UK arriving every month, I can also get a printout from Wise.com showing monthly transfers, and my pension administrators supply a yearly statement including tax deductions and a foercast of what they intend to pay to me each month. also UK Tax authorities supply an annual report of the income and tax for the tax year just ended and an estimate for the coming year. I can supply all these. But I do not want to go to Immigration with a lot of unnecessary paper. Immigration themselves have only given vague and evasive answers so far. A report from a member who has obtained an extension by this method recently is what i need.
  12. In Europe, regulations require that power through a cable is cut off as soon as a break is detected. Why not here?
  13. Due to the flood last year I am unlikely to have the ฿400K in account when my extension for Marriage to a Thai citizen expires in a few months. I will therefore have to try using the income method. The proof of income requirement does not state what constitutes proof. Has any member obtained an extension recently using this method? What documents were required and accepted? I am aware that different each clerk may have her own criteria, Therefore as many many recent experiences as possible are welcome. Please note this applies specifically to Chiangmai Immigration.
  14. These 100 Baht fines all add up.
  15. Why do you want to know?
  16. What has this to do with Thailand?
  17. Some regional elections taking place this weekend, is there a ban on Alcohol sales? I have not seen any official notices.
  18. Hence the reason I have insisted that all my grandchildren learn to swim.
  19. My 7 year old Brother printer is refusing now to print any colours, only black and white. I only use it intermittently and the local repair shop says it is not worth repairing. I am contemplating buying a new one Would expert members recommend a reasonably priced and reliable one. I do not want a cartridge fed device.
  20. I grew potatoes successfully in Scotland for 30 years, but they always seemed to sprout better if exposed to a period cool temperatures before laying out. I suggest you put them in the bottom drawer of you refrigerator for at least a week. Do not freeze.
