    Thai drivers never learn to use a low gear when descending. I have had to teach several Thai relatives the technique. None of the had ever heard of it.

    Yesterday I went the local PEA office to pay my bill. It was closed before 2.30 pm. Therefore, this morning I tried to pay the bill in a nearby 7eleven .The till turned up a message translating as "No outstanding balance". I cannot understand this. Has PEA decided to give me a free month or is it a gremlin in the system? Suggestions please.

    I counted 6 tour buses, one after another, heading south on Hwy119 towards Doi Inthanon at 7am this morning.

    Just a bit of forward planning in case I cannot renew my extension for marriage at some time in the future. it would appear that with 2 border runs in a year, I could manage 240 days. Please confirm.

    While searching for my new Year treat, I found , in Rimping at Kat Farang, Old Pultney 12 years old at ฿2.600 per bottle. This is a very good price for a very good single malt. The price in a super market in Scotland is Gbp38, equivalent to ฿1600. Enjoy

    I was in UK at the time of the referendum. I cannot recall any reference to the ECJ.

    I agree but she is impatient. I have suggested she tries to take a gap year working in a hospital before applying again, But a 17 year old does listen to an old grandpa.

    I have not received any post in this forum for a long time, in fact, it appears to have been eliminated. Also, regular posts in the jokes forum have also stopped coming.

    My 17 year old granddaughter wants to study medicine at university. However, she just fails. marginally. to make the grades required. She is almost a year too young for her year at school so has time on her side. Are their any colleges in the Chiangmai area where she may study intensively to bring her up to the standard asked?

    I did a similar thing a few weeks ago. Bar staff at my favourite pub told me that' as usually happened, my sister-in-law's car had stopped outside to take me home. I toddled out, got into a silver Camry, to be confronted with a horrified strange woman. I apologized profusely, got out and spotted my s-i-l in her identical silver Camry just in front.

    Correct proper porridge is cooked from raw oatmeal, water, and a touch of salt, add milk or cream to taste.

    My daughter was dissatisfied withe her nose. Against my objection, in her early twenties she had silicon injections which lengthened her nose. 20 odd years later it all went wrong and she needed an extensive reconstruction which required cartilage to be taken from her ribs. LADIES, DO NOT DO IT!

    I am using Firefox browser on an old Windows OS. I used to have a Menu Bar at the top of the page. It contained File, View, Edit, etc. About a week ago it disappeared and I cannot find how to restore it. Advice requested from Firefox experts please.

    I recall "cheap housing" being built in Glasgow in the 1960s. Within 30 years they had to be demolished due to their dangerous state while the post war prefabs were still viable
