  1. hmm, at this time on 1,000,000 baht to buy you would "lose" 1600 baht or so

1m baht would get you 4.71601902 Bitcoin which equals 998,402.01 Thai Baht as of now

changing to USDT and back on Binance would get you for 0.1% (not 1%, 0.1%) each way (so 1000 baht to buy USDT, 1000 to buy BTC back)

and then getting it out through multiple transfers should be roughly the same cost as getting it in

however, you can get your USDT when bitcoin is higher and then buy BTC when it's low IE: sell btc at 6600 rebuy at 6500 is a 1.5% gain on ANY amount. (ok, 1.499%) which would give you +10,000 thb every time you do it

but sure, it's about 5000 baht all in. not exactly cheap but you can also try your luck with the bank or big bags of cash.

    edited in:

just so it's clear, the "fees" mentioned above are:

    1. difference in price between current price and price they are selling at
    2. 0.1% fee from Binance to trade into USDT

    3. 0.1% fee from Binance to trade back to BTC

    4. difference in price from buyer wanting to buy and current price

and if anyone is interested, total length of this process is:

about 5-10 minutes per transaction to acquire it
1 hour to get it to Binance. (btc transaction time)
    instant trade to USDT

+ (uncertain amount of time before you need it back)

    instant trade to BTC

1 hour to get it to localbitcoins (btc transaction time)
    5-10 minutes each transactions

however, if anyone decides to do this with very large amounts, say 100,000 USD then you might not WANT people to send you 100 transactions of 1000 as that might trigger some kind of spanish inquisition via the bank
for that amount of money, i would travel to a major city and meet someone that trades large amount in person and has 100% feedback on the site

if you bought Bitcoin through a broker here, then I assume that if you wanted to change your coins for UK pounds, then you'd have to register with a broker in UK? I can envisage all sorts of problems with them wanting local address, bank etc. I could be wrong, but interesting to know for future reference.

    none of this

you make a transfer or cash deposit (or even cash delivery) to the seller. you get the BTC. it's in Escrow on the site till then

then you can do the same way but you are the seller and people send you money through bank transfers back home, cash deposits or just cash the same way

    nothing to do with brokers

And watch it's value relative to what you want to buy go up and down quicker than a Soi 6 girls underwear ????

rubbish. but if you worry about the value to dollar, you can just sell your BTC into USDT (or TUSD) and it will be worth exactly the same amount (1$ per)

if you have 100,000k USD in USDT, in 10 days, it will still be 100,000 USD. doesn't matter if bitcoin went to down to 5000 or up to 15,000

Reward!!!!!     Village  Kids Reward 20B for every Dog or Cat You catch and turn In........ Thai Goverment notice, I read it somewhere..........

    i've been saying this forever.

someone brings in dogs, registers with ID - gets paid.

charge owners small fee (say 200 baht to reclaim) and FORCE registration of claimed dogs (maybe record their Thai owner ID, a picture of them and their dog on computer and give them a small engraved metal tag to be worn on collar)

if dog not claimed within say 14 days, get rid of them.

and penalize owner if dog caught more than once

if they did this, the problem would disappear very quickly but there would be public outrage.

On my morning bicycle ride I encountered a pack of dogs blocking the small road near a temple all looking ( hungrily) in my direction ! It was easy enough to go another route and avoid them.
This happened several days in a row until one day as I approached the temple a guy on a mc passed me with a plastic bucket ( 18 ltrs?) full of rice , he then proceeded to feed the dogs.
I now go on my bike ride 30 minutes later and pass the 20 or so pack all laid out sleeping emoji99.png.

The guy obviously thinks he is doing a great job, a good deed indeed !!
But does he know the danger he is creating ?, of course not, it would take a local kid to be mauled ( like the unfortunate 4 year old, god forbid) before he realises his error.

Gonna need some alarming advertising on TV to make the population aware of their wrong doings.

Maybe Big Joke make this his next campaign ??

feeding rice to dogs makes them sick and diseased..

house owner here mixed cooking leftovers with rice for her pit bull forever.. that dog is about 5 years old but looks 12.. blood problems, renal problems and full of diseases and now that the dog is sick practically 24/7, the vet bills are sometimes 5000 baht per month. so she decided to "start" to give it proper food, went for Royal Canin which is a horrible choice (not grain free, trash ingredients) and now after hearing her complain for the 100th time, I tell her she should buy proper food which is cheaper than RC

she did.. but then when I walk down I see a bowl with 50/50 trash and good food.

    can't get them to understand

For the last couple months, I haven't had to be paying close attention to the PM2.5 readings every day in BKK, because they've been consistently low and nothing to worry about, this having been the off-season for pollution.

But the last couple days in BKK that's changed, and I don't know if it means the return of an early air pollution season that doesn't normally come till November, or simply a temporary weather-related situation. At any rate, today, I was wondering why my air purifier was suddenly having a harder time keeping the PM2.5 levels inside my home down at a good levels.

So then I checked the outside readings for BKK, and found out why. And this is even after it had a pretty good rain earlier this morning. Not good!!!  Hope it's temporary and not back to the facemasks season already...

my understanding of it (and it might be wrong) is that they are calculating it wrong here

it should be a number made out of PM2.5 AND PM10 together somehow (possibly not just added)

I am too lazy to look it up, but I know for a fact that this is how it USED to be calculated up north near chiang mai until one day the meter went from 200+ to about 40 because they took out the PM2.5 from the equation (opposite of what is happening here)

149 is exactly the PM2.5, PM10 is 68, if the numbers are to be added it's 217

I think you maybe part of the problem, my post was about my personal experience, nothing made up just all true but I'm not giving in to mongrel dogs, never and I use my real name in my posts...yes hundreds of stray Soi dogs all over Cha-am and Thailand with no training or discipline.

I live in Cha-am too and can confirm the hundreds of dogs on the beach. they are all split in little gangs but they are there

the packs at the intersection of Narathip and Chao Lai are particularly vicious late at night, they chase motorcycles too

15,000bht/mo, and that's with an education. Kids who quit school know their destiny, but still at age 15 they quit school. A 7-11 job is even out of reach.

I agree, my friend makes 20,000 doing a government office job after 3 years of university.

the problem here is that most poor people are poor because they can't handle money.

if you would give that lady 25,000 a month she would likely go buy an iphone 10, get another loan for X and Y and give more money away to family who would just sit and wait for it

and then she would be exactly as miserable

here's a story, lol: that same lady who makes 20,000 a month had a Honda Airblade motorbike that she was rented per month to make some extra cash.. the long term renter had to go home so the bike came back to her

so she decided to sell that bike for 20,000 baht and to give that money to her mom that is poor as can be.

her mom took the money and gave it away to monks, my friend was absolutely furious but could do nothing about it.

Problem would be so easy to fix, send of some RTP officers with their guns to have an early morning run. I'll tip them 100 Bahts per dog head they bring back. I am not kidding, but I am afraid there isn't any RTP officer prepared to break a sweat..

it would take much less than that, i'm sure if they started giving 25-50 baht for each roaming dog brought alive and make it evident to everyone via news that if the dogs are not claimed within 10 days, they will be lost.

within a month the problem would be fixed.

i bet you that a lot of Somchais would turn up with possibly 10-100 of dogs just for the paycheck.

  10. best thing about this update is that you can use Dark mode with Windows Explorer.

in Settings, write "color settings" in the search, click that and then scroll all the way down for the option

now I just wish it would apply to task manager as well but oh well!

many of the pole dancers in thailand are already quite plump in case you havnt noticed

haven't, been here for years but I don't do bars so I never seen a live pole dancer here (or anywhere)

I want to see even less  now that you mentioned that!

  12. I'll be honest I haven't read much of the article beyond that he mistreated or insulted Canada.

I heard from a friend about how he treated Trudeau, I was laughing. I didn't expect Trump to respect the sack of dung.

when America was trying to stop the floodgates of immigrants and refusing them, Trudeau was telling them to come to Canada.

    this was the result:

I don't keep track of the additional headlines but i knew of these ones because it's close to home.

Sadly, that house does not exist. It is a computer generated 3D image that can be purchased from Shutterstock:

says right on the page that it's a house from a suburb in Vancouver.

I google looked up his image of the girl, couldn't find anything but hopefully he found her on Romance Tale website, otherwise that watermark is strange.

No misunderstanding on my part. I would say either a large minority or maybe the majority in the Pattaya section are prostitutes and also quite a few in the Bangkok section.

Those seeking women for genuine relationships that I guess is meant to be the purpose of these on-line Thai dating sites, the lack of details given on profiles and communication problems make reaching a point of actually meeting these women an extremely difficult task, plus for the older guys the competition is immense.

no doubt, I am not old and out Bangkok, near Hua Hin. Even if I was to add on Line 20 women who sent me messages/interest, I would likely be able to meet one.. they talk for a day or two and then you never hear from them again, I tend to hide them on Line until I get a whole lot of them and just delete 90% of the girls, most of them have absolutely nothing to talk about apart from asking if I ate breakfast or had a shower, lol.

  15. this sort of thing happens to me once in a while, I use the French Canada layout and the US one moves my @ and accents like é that are on the bottom next to the right shift button

anyways, what i have found to fix this is to add another language, say add french canada, remove the english us

put back english us, remove french canada.

technically, that should sort it out, even if it totally doesn't make sense.

if you registered multiple computers with ONE Microsoft account it will match the language settings on all of them, my gf was under mine and when she added thai it would show up on my computer, i removed it and it removed it on her.. so she just put it back a minute later and that's how i figured that out.

i am curious to know if this is a joke post or not.. my friend up north kept buying the spinner mops and they would always break.. I could go for something like this but while I was gone for a few months some genius handyman decided to PAINT the floor here using gray wall paint and I within an hour of moving back in I had already pieces of it flaking off.

wonder what that steamer thing would do to it.

  17. here's a little interesting bit about dating websites in general:

I had a friend ask me to delete her account on Thaicupid (not Thaifriendly) and when I logged in it popped up a page with about 21 men (3 lines of 3) that she could all message with one click..

not only this, every 2-4 seconds there would be a popup on the left corner saying "this person is new to the website" and popping up notifications with pictures for them to click on.

she had a FREE account, I have a gold account (platinum upgrade is rubbish) and trust me I don't have access to these features, not that I would want them

they already getting flooded by messages so why offer them that (only on women side)

being in mid 30s and fit I do get quite a bit of messages on there but never hundreds per week, maybe 10-15 at most and most of the women that message me are overweight

the rest of the average-beautiful ones are too busy fending off hundreds of useless men per week to care about messaging me

back home I remember registering on a site website, then I'd delete it after meeting someone.. maybe a year or two later registered again and the same exact women who were online 24/7 were still online, just reaping the free dinners and basking in interests.

I think most of those would have been deemed attractive but most of them were single moms as well, smoking cigarettes and had a bunch of pictures in bars.

    TL;DR:

women on there once they are messaged by literally hundreds and thousands of men offering them gifts, money, attention and all that, it gets to their head. once they are used to it, I don't think there is a way out of that.

I would probably be a similar person if I looked like Brad Pitt and received hundreds of messages a week, I would be as shitty.

And I think that while  te visa is still valid for the 5 years or so, but you still have to pay like 1900 baht each year for an extension.

1 year visa, 90 days reports. can be extended for 1900 baht up to 5 years or if you got the 20 years option you get 4x 5 years visa

going out of country at any point will give you back one year on arrival

not 100% sure if its easy to get the one year at ANY land borders to be honest but it should be.

  19.

I was able to login and upload some PDF from online banking, hopefully that is acceptable.

looks like it will work so far but there is up to 5 days wait for document verification so unless I get rejected on document verification should be fine.

I'll do a test next week and see how the fees and whatnot compare to stuff like straight up ATM, crypto (which I can do within an hour) and if its acceptable then i'll use transferwise

Bangkok Bank used to take about 3-7 days depending on how much you paid ($3 for "3 days", $7 for "1 day") but they are more like 3 to 7 days.

They want some type of address verification (utility bills, bank statement or similar) without this it's impossible.

If you put your address in Thailand they also want this verification, the easiest thing to get this (it has to be in english, they won't accept your address written in Thai) is to go to your Thai bank and request and bank statement in english, will cost something like 200THB (does of course depend on your bank) and Transferwise will accept it.

would you reckon it makes a difference it the Transferwise account is made as of back home or Thailand?

what i'm trying to do is transfer the funds from my US account to their US account and then ultimately to me (doesn't have to be Bangkok Bank)

I have been doing that with the Bangkok Bank ACH thing but that's going away.
