  1. I wanted to say that ;) had to double check my stuff (to make sure I wasn't wrong) and came up with

"The most relevant glutamine-producing tissue is the muscle mass, accounting for about 90% of all glutamine synthesized."

aka more muscles synthesizes more glutamine and not the other way around

  2. Creatine definitely works.

I haven't used the stuff in a while, mainly because where I live I don't have access to a gym and don't really exercise all that much (work work)

but I have to say that I remember the last time I kept with Creatine was the time I noticed the biggest gains in strength and size

It does take about a week to 10 days to kick in usually yes before you start feeling results but it's significant

I was on Creatine Monohydrate (cheap kind) and am actually importing some with me this time around when traveling, I have 2kg of it in my luggage already, which should last me for more than a year ;)

and I remember it being wayy overpriced when I stopped in a fitness shop in Chiang Mai last year too, this is why i'm bringing mine now.

  3. All the bikes on union were the small 125 cc types is there any place that auctions the big bikes the kawasaki Er6n's the SYM Max scooters bikes 250 to 650 cc in size!

I am interested in the answer to this for the big bikes

also which one would have mini trucks, if any ;)

been looking for a Daihatsu Hijet or a Suzuki Carry at good price (rare) and apart from the usual OLX and whatnot website not sure where to look

maybe those are not sold in auctions tho. too old?

  4. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

    Sweet Jesus,

In Chasing Mai and he wants to meet only western women, and everyone here is indulging him, without a full understanding of why his loving wife, who planned this with him for years, or was just going along silently, which is doubtful just suddenly decided to abandon it all, including the family dogs to return to what exactly?

Without hearing from the wife, I don't believe a word the OP states

BTW, the reason so many Thais think they will be sold into slavery is because that's a Thai specialist occupation and they go to the sam e villages every few months waiting for the girls to graduate 6th grade so they can select the new crop before the parents have any other ideas about backing out on their agreements when they took those loans from the loanshark

Thai selling Thai is a known fact, just ask the UN trafficking condemnation that Thailand cannot shake

This OP in Chiang Man is a sob story but has no hint of truth

You cannot be a single man in Chiang Mai and not be nearly assaulted by the throngs of women....even Tim Sharkey is surrounded by hordes of young girls

    Sorry OP.
Anyone in Chiang Kai for 24 hours knows better.
Western women are too smart for you

quoted for truth, as a 32 year old athletic man who has lived "mostly" in Cha-am, Phetchaburi but visited Chiang Mai once.

I went to Chiang Mai from Pai for dentist and my old farang friend needed to stay two nights (extensive work)

he pulled me in a club (Spicy), I definitely got some attention in Chiang Mai that I haven't felt back in Cha-am.. but then again, I don't usually go to night clubs..

I ended up meeting a girl who would pay EVERYTHING for me and want me to move in with her (right!).. I went to see her for two days again when i drove back to Phetchaburi from Pai.. learned the hard way she was an annoying drunk and I don't drink, I had to follow her everywhere and prevent her from hurting herself and others.. turns out she was some kind of freelance girl or something of the sort.

Plenty of women in their 30s available for you.

The older ones want just as much, and generally have less to offer.

ThaiCupid, you can fix up a different date for every night of the week in CM.

Can you be more specific on what they have less to offer? I find them to be more loyal.

I will concede your point if it is sex you are talking about. But I think the OP is looking for more than that.

regarding Thaicupid, I think that most of the women on there would be mostly Gaijin Hunters (Japanese term for foreigners hunters) and from my experience meeting a few of them, the older ones seem to be the ones that have had a "few" foreigner boyfriends and are quite westernized by then.. some of them with kids from those relationships and quite high expectations by then

nothing wrong with that, just saying wink.png it's not really the place to find genuine jai dee thai women i found.

  5. Not sure the price here. In the US it's 1300$ . That's very useful the specs you give. But is the computer as reliable if it's custom built by the shop like this?

    it should be as reliable

plus you would get warranties PER parts instead of one the machine,

invade.it is a good place to buy it from, they are in Hua Hin and do ship anywhere in Thailand

it's more than enough for Skyrim most likely by itself

but if you start adding 250 HD mods it might make the game much slower on the Erazon itself

I fully agree with the parts above.. i7 is overkill, over 8gb mostly same.

  6. I see that Lenovo Thailand has an Erazor/x510 PC desk top- would i be able to put a GTX 970 video card in there ?

    • 4th Generation Intel® Core™i7-4770K Processor (3.5GHz, up to 3.9GHz, 8MB Cache)
    • 16GB DDR3L/1600MHz (2x8GB)
    • SSHD 2TB (7200rpm)
    • nVidia® Geforce GTX760 2GB DDR5

    610W PSU

had to google that particular computer..

it's hard to say about the Erazer, they don't really show the inside of the case or which motherboard.. I'd assume the PSU should be enough tho.

I am curious.. how much would you pay for this computer, not sure where you found it but saw it listed at 49,770 baht?

seems quite a bit high? I built an equivalent system in July last year but with an i5-4460 and 8gb of ram instead of 16gb (don't really need 16gb or i7 for gaming tbh) for 27,460 baht.

it didn't include a video card (I brought my lifetime warrantied Radeon 7970 with me) and had 2 different hard drives instead of a hybrid one (my preference)

but if you add a GTX 970 for ±15,000 baht and only have it up to 42,460 baht or so.

now if my pricing is correct on the Erazer that would bring you over 64,000 baht not including monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, headphones and a nice mousepad.

  7. That's a mistake - It will be corrected tomorrow. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

That said - before you all bring me examples of how cheap you can buy all kinds of stuff, it is no surprise to anyone that you can find a good deal on equipment elsewhere and have it send to Thailand - and maybe even get it into the country as private goods.

BUT if you buy from a distributor, that pay taxes in this country by the way, you'll have your guarantee from a company in this country, which is able to get spare parts, handle complaints and repairs, do maintenance etc - and all that all costs money. So our company is the expensive alternative to doing the work of bringing your equipment into Thailand and to your home plus being on your own if the equipment is defective somehow - but compared to other serious distributors selling high standard equipment, we're not expensive.

I wouldn't be worried about buying the C2 though. The only problem I've experienced with them are the aluminium body that can break in the joint below the footplate after long intense use - especially if you weigh too much.

There's a guy in Chang mai, that wants to sell his C2 - but it has the PM4 monitor. Here's the link.

    http://classifieds.thaivisa.com/hobbies/sport-and-leisure/concept-2-rower-318975.html

oh, I wasn't having a go at you.

I am genuinely interested in getting a Black C2 with PM5 but quite unwilling to buy 2nd hand much, I'm just like that.

might get one sent directly from C2 as I reckon no one will have those in stock anywhere

    or

I'd bring it "new but opened" as oversized/excess baggages for ±200$ instead of shipping it there since Amazon Prime ships it free 2 days anywhere in US/Canada

it'll prob be coming in with me next time around

  8. Hi PP

    I just saw your post.

I'm the manager of Muang Thai Fitness in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima).

We started as a gym, but are now importers of fitness equipment because everything we needed was either of poor quality or too expensive.

You are welcome to contact me about anything for your homegym - I'll provide you with picture and prices. Some of the equipment, you can even test in Korat.

We have rubbercoated weightplates & rubbercoated dumbbells promotion at only 199.- / kilo...

You can see most of our products in picture and with prices on our facebookpage:

    https://www.facebook.com/muangthaifitnessequipment

You can also see the promotions that I'm referring to if you scroll down a bit on the page.

By the way, I'm Nik, Farang from denmark, been living and working in Korat for almost a year - but have been exercising and working with fitness most of my adult life smile.png

after checking your facebook page that had this "Powerful Rower - ONLY 143.880.- THB", I am curious about how much it would be for ya to get a Concept2 Rower Model D with PM5 here

I am interested in the C2, but remember they retail for 29,500 THB

  9. Lenovo desktop? aren't those all kind of smaller form factor cases nowadays?

you might have issues getting a newer full length video card in one of those small cases.. power supply would probably be another issue and also availability of PCI Express on those motherboards

I seen those small factor cases with no PCIX, not big enough for any good cards and lowest power supply ever.

  10. yep yep. I remember my questionnaire was filled with questions about driving tanks, I reckon some of them were even asked multiple times (same question, different wording).

that video is long, 3 hours seems about right. I failed the driving test first time because I was told to not drive faster than 10km/h on the line, I was told I'd fail if I went over and was looking too much at the odometer (which started at 20) and touched the ground

had to wait 7 days to redo it, when I went back the 2nd time there were other thais doing it. they went way over 10, I was annoyed and I did too and it was much easier not to worry about speed (if you aren't used to it, don't try that on first gear)

    everything worked that time..

  11. Welcome to Thailand and Welcome to a " Third World " I lived ( quite successfully may i add ) on 100 baht a day ( minus beers as i don't drink ) But if you like a beer now and again i think 12,000 baht a month " all in " is more than enough to cover nice accommodation ( with pool ) bills, visa, food drink and a few cool train trips and a fab life! ( * My pricing is based on a reasonable condo in Pattaya with pool from just 5,000 baht a month based on a years contract )

Farang Jaidee " Your Thai Visa friend "......wub.png

absolutely, I do it all the time and live much better for under 12,000 baht a month than I would live in Canada for any amount of money (stupid winters!)

  12. Why should a Thai be interested in your cultural norms?

Thailand is a rural agricultural country, most Thais were born and raised in rural areas, and Thais generally talk about subjects appropriate to that economy and environment.

Most western conversation is pointless, want to talk about politics? Why? you don't have any say in who gets elected.

    Ad infinitum ........

There's nothing to argue about here, I was agreeing with him and included my story about one particular lady.

I do think it's rather global that if you have no opinion on anything and nothing to talk about, no hobbies, etc.. People will attempt to initiate conversation a few times and then give up.

I have met plenty of other well educated and some not so educated Thai women that had plenty to say about hundreds of topics

and I have 0% interest in politics there or anywhere in the world.

  13. we went there alright ,we were the only two forangs rest I think Myrimar....we have multiple visa entry's but I was wondering why they charged us 910 baht each,is that normal....Nick

hey Nick, the reason why they are charging 910 baht now is that earlier last year you could go there without a visa and they were supposed to be charging 500 baht, yet they were charging 700 baht, pocketing 200 baht and giving the 500 to the Myanmar side

now, a few months back they said "no more kanchanaburi border runs" and that you needed a Myanmar Visa absolutely to cross..

now you had to get to Bangkok, pay something like 750 baht for a visa you could get in 3 days.. or 1300 for a same day visa.. wait in line forever to get this sorted and then come back (unless you lived in BKK)

for me, traveling to BKK was 2 minivans from Cha-am, 320 baht round trip.. some MRT train fees maybe 100 baht total, pay 750 baht.. waited 3 days in bangkok at my friends place and picked it up.

wasted time and paid 1170 baht or so just for the process and spent about 2 hours at the embassy

when I got to the Myanmar border, they didn't see my Myanmar visa and to my surprise told me "you come here before right? now 900 baht"

    I told them "I have a visa"

then I had to pay some old lady 200 baht for the 5 minutes drive to Myanmar and do stuff myself and it took way more time than the Myanmar dealing with them myself

total spent, 1370 baht for visa and wasted a LOT of time

the next time, I went without a Myanmar visa, paid the 910 baht.. they put me in a car, drove. 2 minutes inside and drove back and that's it.

  14. I've lived there for 2 months and walked around extensively.

not hard to be living a little bit off from the main center, it's like anywhere really.

I got brought by pickup to a beach once about maybe 20 minutes or so directly East of Mueang Phetchaburi, it was somewhat nice.. something akin to Cha-am I'd say but didn't have all them umbrellas and chairs

my favorite thing in Phetchaburi was the free fitness gym, you have to get a card and maybe pay 100 baht (can't even remember) but after that it's free no monthly fees.. they don't have everything a western gym would have but more than enough

the Big C is fair, the markets are nice (always prefer the Cha-am weekly market tho), I ate quite a bit at that central food market that opens daily near Tesco Lotus (one of those small ones).. something like "Pet Pai Boon" was the name my friend kept saying.

overall nice but I would not stay there a long time personally, I am too used to Cha-am I guess.

  15. The restaurant's still open.

well that settles that and confirms google maps. now need to find if the clinic is still going wink.png

You should have just called the number yourself. They speak English.

I tried calling a few other Thai businesses before and was always met with Thai only, sadly I am not in Thailand at the moment so I cannot inquire myself anymore

  16. If he can ride a motorcyc and is,nt a shit head give me a pm smile.png

he's a beginner in the motorcycle riding, we got him to ride on the foot board of a Fino (or Honda Click) and he jumped off once. I own a Honda Wave and I don't think he'd stay on the back of the seat too well. buddy is 26+kg after all, quite clumsy and "top heavy".

but, as an update on this:

there were my 3 immediate choices for this issue::

    1. come back to Thailand early and not be able to buy my truck I am saving for (still in a month)

    2. find someone else to get him meanwhile (didn't happen)

    3. get some food shipped to my other friend in Phetchaburi and send her to look at my dog (trimmed nails, no obvious mistreatments or wounds) and report back to me

I went with #3, cost me 7000 baht for food that should be good enough for 4 months (I'm back in 2.5 months now)

not quite what I wished but. after a total of 40000 baht spent.. It would have been much cheaper to just pay rent for a local to move in with my dog instead of dealing with my so called friends ;)

    I learned a lesson here.

  17. personnaly I am very attracted by Thai women but I know there are subjects I can discuss only with farangs, because Thai are not interested in them

I fully agree with this. I met a Thai woman in Mueang Phetchaburi which I thought to be quite normal and lovely

Alas, shortly later, I figured out that most questions were met by "I don't know", "up to you" or just plain no answer. (which I eventually found quite annoying)

    It quickly became quite boring..

now, I expect that most people would be thinking "well, language barrier".. not this one, her English was quite fine but she lacked interest in talking about anything, had no opinions on anything when asked and had nothing to talk about ever.

when I came back home for work for 4 months she kept asking me "what are you doing?" and "did you eat yet?" every single day even tho I had told her I work every day and mostly stay home in cold Canadian winter

I have read I think on this page something that was saying that the education system was a cause for this, because it relies more on rote learning and they are never quite thought critical thinking, to discuss or question anything

I have met Thai ladies with next to zero English skills that made 20x more efforts to try to talk to me.

  18. I have to say that I have been paying for the 599 baht I think DTAC package (6gb Internet and then 384 kbps after) with my American (and factory unlocked) Motorola Moto Gs (I have three of them, the LTE (4G), the 2013 Global GSM version and the update 2014 version) with no issues whatsoever

the only place I had issues with internet or service was when getting close to the Myanmar border in Kanchanburi (Phu Nam Ron?) and a few spots in between Chiang Mai and Pai.

DTAC served me well on my 10,000+ kilometers of driving all over Thailand with my Honda Wave, apart from those 2 specific places.

I am not against switching providers tho, especially if they seem to have better coverage.. but so far so good.

I might lose my number actually if they end up going with that registration for prepaid as I am not going to be there for another 2.x months (haven't been keeping track as to when it was supposed to happen really to be honest)

  19. I have not tried this but. I reckon that PAL and NTSC stuff usually matters for the output.

I reckon my friend had a NTSC ps2 and PAL games were just scrambled and stuff.

I haven't kept with those outdated and crap TV standards really but I'd assume that PAL and NTSC aren't really something to care about when you buy modern days LCD or HD TVs

maybe I am wrong tho, the best tip I could tell you is try to find someone that has a 360 in Thailand and bring your games over to try. If you can load the game then they should play find on an up to date TV.

I'd use HDMI or even get one of them cool VGA cables (that's what I used to connect mine to my monitor, it's totally fine for HD)

I got this from looking at a different website "NTSC and PAL output different video signals, but the HDMI cable itself shouldn't care what the signal is, as HDMI is a global standard capable of carring both standards."

the only problem that might arise is if the 360s hardware are made to reject other countries games .. which might be the case.

we're not exactly in the United States here where you can just buy a 360, try it and return it to Wal Mart if you aren't happy with it.

I'd bet you anything that if you went to a store that sold 360s they would definitely let you try your games right there at the shop if they have a TV there.

every time I buy something even remotely expensive in Thailand they always want to show me that it works out of the box before I even buy it without asking.

I am sure you would definitely get issues if you were to use a normal NTSC or PAL TV tho, so make sure they have a proper HD TV and use HDMI if you have that

and hopefully some of that rambling will make sense
