  1. Amazon has no issues sending stuff, the prices for shipping are a little bit more expensive than they used to be pre-covid but there is one main difference

I bought several things from Amazon in the past and normally if the value was under 1500 baht with shipping there were no Thai import taxes or duties but since they shut it down (international shipping was down for a bit and then put back)

it is not the case anymore, now every single little thing comes with a tax+duty charge, I even contacted support and asked about it they acted like it was normal even when i showed them the customs site

it's not all that much and not a major problem if you don't order a lot of things but it adds up quite quickly and shouldn't even be there.

I bought this before for $27.58 and now the same thing costs $40.29

  2. I would leave, do your best regarding the kids but you shouldn't be in an unhappy relationship just because of kids, they pick up on that and you usually end up ruining their life and views of relationships too.

I got a vasectomy a few years ago cause my son is going on 20 years old and I didn't want to deal with this kind of stuff and more responsibilities.

I met a few girls who flat out won't date me if I tell them that I can't have kids but the fact is that even if I could, I wouldn't.

I always told myself one thing, if me or the girlfriend is not happy.. it's time for one of us to leave and I have no problem being the person to leave.

I would rather leave and have my girlfriend happy with someone else than unhappy with me.

I'm assuming that you were unable to do online reporting simply because it has been disabled during the amnesty period.  My own report was due about one week AFTER amnesty started.  I was unaware of the amnesty and I tried to renew my 90 day report online (in the specified 7-15 days prior to expiration) and got that same message as you did.  The error message you get if you are outside of the 7-15 day period is different.

At least I hope that is the case because IF reporting is required on July 31, doing it online (7-15 days prior to that date is what I would want to do, rather than having to do it in person with what is sure to be a HUGE crowd.

In other words, I'm hoping that online reporting will not be disabled for the July 31 date (assuming amnesty is not extended) because all of our present reports have technically expired (even though amnesty is the reason).  Anybody have any thoughts on this?

nah it never worked on all the browsers I tried, the app never worked (same error) and my information is quite straightforward to enter.

asking them at the desk doesn't make sense because #1 they shrug and just want to process it and #2 it's past the window you can use it usually when I go (to not change the dates earlier)

to get them to try, I would have to go between 15 and 7 days before my 90 days is needed with a Thai person and that would leave #1, + I am sure they don't even know how to "fix" it even if they confirm it doesn't work by trying

can't be bothered to be honest, it's usually quick but still a 20 minutes drive and a few minutes in office. wish internet reporting worked but for me it doesn't

Over the years, I've tried a few different tablets, powders, injections and sprays to try to keep my dogs tick-free, with varying degrees of success. I am currently using a powder, sold in sachets and is supposed to keep a dog up to 15Kg free of ticks, fleas, various mites & heart worms for 1 month. My dogs are larger than 15Kg, so I administer one sachet to each dog every fortnight and they are relatively tick-free. NB It should not be used on collies, old English sheepdogs or Shetland sheepdogs (stated on sachet). Costs 40 baht per sachet at local shop.

If it says not to use on collies it's probably Ivermectin.. not sure the dosage of what you have but it doesn't seem to be on the side that you showed.

  5. If you can calculate how much drinking/cooking water you have and you find it falls under 8 liters then you'd probably want something like the one i linked before

I bought 2 extra filters so technically I am good for 3 years, at the time it cost me 8100 baht total I believe

I am pretty sure the 3 (or more) undersink filters ones do a better job but replacing the filters was my main concern.

  6. I wouldn't be surprised if they were put in "permanently"

here I have the same system and one of the two window for some reason looks impossible to remove (right side) , not unlike yours.. it just doesn't go high enough compared to the left one

and they put the mosquito screen on the inside of the room which is baffling to me..

when it rains heavily, Ialways have to open the screen, close the window, close the screen (or leave it open I guess) and then redo same thing

  7. well, mine is due for July 12th, I did go in last time cause I needed a certificate of residence  to transfer a motorbike to me but not really that interested in driving there if it's not needed until July 31st

I just  tried to do mine online and I am within the 7 days period but keep getting this error message (always the same)

    image.png.1797f2824c120d61a9eaf9d4cfa98fcd.png

contacting them about it does absolutely nothing, they just want to process it in 2 minutes and be done with, they don't care about fixing it and I would have to go now to them and get THEM to try it online but I am sure that is useless to even try

but yes, for me.. waiting is better for the following reason:

I have 1 year extensions from November 27th and you would think 3 90 days report would bring me to next extension but far from it.

If I did my report today it would bring my next 90 days report to the 30th of September which means it forces a 4th 90 days report for 1.5 month

wouldn't be bothered by it if online worked but it never did for me

  8. I own the 3M Counter Top water purifier

    this one:

    https://www.lazada.co.th/products/3m-counter-top-i100220924-s100262309.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.13.f1a76ff06V0jws&search=1

and it works pretty well but it's slow for me because I have very low water pressure. the filter included is good for 3000 liters (or roughly one year)

I only use mine for drinking, cooking and water for my dogs and it's pretty good but I haven't had the water tested.. I just know it was bad before.

when I was looking into water purification my first choice was one of those below sink ones with 3+ filters but I had always seen the systems and not the replacement filters and this made me not buy them (not saying they don't exist)

3M has a similar setup with under sink i believe and they had a little secondary faucet you could magnet or glue near the first one.. probably a cleaner install

I was tempted to get both the 3 filter things from another company and the 3M one above but so far for my usage it's enough..

I couldn't tell you if the flow is good or not with main floor or proper water pressure cause i never tried it other places than my weak pressure 4th story place

    but it should be okay.

No difference, I did then say that according to posts here, he needed to go in to Registry and make some changes there ( I had tried myself but failed ) Then again I am no computer technician.

He did so and eventually re established connection.

I had to ask how long he had been fixing/working on computers to which he replied 10 years but had never used WIN 10.

Not really impressed, with his service, perhaps I am being harsh.

Problem solved for now and at least I have learned a little.

    Thanks again

not sure who said anything about registry (much more advanced stuff) but hey.

certainly if he's been in the business for "10 years" he would know Windows 10 like the back of his hand.

it's 5 years old by now and I've had it installed from day one on all of my computers.

I'd suggest you try someone else than this dunce if you have other issues. certainly not that harsh

  10. I have an account with Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn, neither required a work permit (I never had a work permit)

for Bangkok Bank at least (and maybe others), you can have a Thai national vouch for you,

all I had was my passport and my friend who signed some paperwork and they copied her ID

Kasikorn, same deal but the paperwork was sent to me via Thai Elite (it was a thing they offered to help with), the only difference in that one was that I needed to do a 20,000 baht deposit which I wasn't told about and didn't have cash on me.

made me return once I had the money, I just called my friend, got her to transfer into my BKK bank, cashed it out, brought it to Kasikorn, made account, took the 20,000 baht and then transferred the money back to my friend 15 minutes later

without the 20,000? hard no. they wouldn't budge. so a bit of red tape but otherwise not really difficult.

It's a grey area for me, see what people say from experience. I think, police usually turn up and you agree on fault and who pays and how much, many Thais on bikes have the same no insurance and often can't afford to pay so many people just forget minor accidents. Big accidents all bets are off

it's about that except police don't technically need to be called as it's a not a criminal offense.. you call your insurance if you have one and they show up.. you deal with the other person.

except, more than likely someone else WILL call the police but once they show up they usually want a tip and create more problems than otherwise.

I've had two still got 1. Not much to go wrong really. Engine is tried and tested. Suzuki Caribean et al. Nice gearbox. Spares cheap. I'm surprised the one shown doesn't have LPG most of them are converted. They have the aerodynamics of a brick so not super fuel efficient at speeds over 105 kph. But 1.8 to 2 Baht/km on LPG regardless of speed. The one shown has a bed liner or has been sprayed so sides won't fold down. It is also missing the metal frame that protects the cab from loads. (Won't really but it should be there?)

Get a rear bumper fitted save the rear light cluster although 250 baht is not much for new lenses if you stop too quickly.

The one shown has been touched up as they didn't replace the small rubber corner pucks when they finished. All 6 of them.

Google luck with the Googling suggestion. The author of that didn't try it first?

yeah I hadn't thought about the Aeroklas liner that they have in there..

the second one I was mostly interested in was about 2 years newer and had a metal frame bolted on top of the bed (which removes the chance to fold down the sides too) but it seems to be removable (not sure how much damage that would do to be honest)

I'm not 100% sure if it bothers me that I can't open the sides but it certainly is something to consider

for my use, I will use it to move which very rarely happens but so far all is a big fold-able table, my scooter and a few bins and boxes of assorted stuff

rest of the time only used as a car, very lightly.

if the choice was between those three: bi-fuel, just gasoline or just LPGwould you  have preference over an other?

I was kind of wanting to get gasoline because where I want to move LPG isn't all that easy to find but.. if bi-fuel works on only gasoline without issues drawbacks i might consider the ones bi-fuel with the switch.

are rubber pucks those little things that look like door stoppers that are on the outside of the bed corners near doors and back end (sorry if my terms are wrong)

  13. I think he might mean this one

the reason why it's confusing is that 70mai is not Xiaomi itself but as far as i understand it might be an off-brand of some sort.

I've seen a lot of items on Lazada and Shopee and they have absolutely nothing to do with Xiaomi as far as I can tell but people keep putting that

here's an example or two, you can find hundreds:

" Before Order Please Note ・ It is Xiaomi ecological chain products ,there is no any Xiaomi LOGO on it, Thanks for your understanding! "

it happens so much that I'm beginning to think it's some kind of BS to make people buy their stuff by putting the name of a popular company on it

This has kinda confused me too !!

The only 70Mai dash cam set I can find is this:

    https://www.70mai.com/en/70mai-rearview-mirror-dash-cam/

I bought the same as you ordered, 70mai dash cam pro , and don’t see any way to add a rear camera too it .

yeah, I actually have a backwards camera with a little screen but the whole setup is kind of janky (not to mention a separate setup) so a all in one system might make more sense.

saw that rearview thing as well and also 2 different back up cameras, not sure if it's one of those (or the one you linked)..

Get yourself a Carry on Petrol AND LPG.

Very economical, rather clean burning and the engine needs no alterations to burn LPG.

Very reliable also, cheap to repair.

seen a few/lot of those.. is it possible to run on only one fuel without issues?

asking because where I might be living LPG stations are far between and i would likely only have it on petrol

also not sure if its a good idea  to keep a full LPG tank without using it for months?

  16. Okay so I am about to get myself a used Suzuki Carry, I know next to nothing about mechanic stuff even tho my dad is a mechanic by trade. (he left when I was young, hah)

looking at something similar to this: https://www.one2car.com/en/for-sale/suzuki-carry-mini-truck-bangkok-metropolitan-sukhaphiban1-2-3/6880402

I will go look at some of them in a week or so. so far, all the ones that I selected look great externally and inside including the box but I've also seen the rusty and damaged ones, the ones with the big boxes and "carry boys" etc.

    not sure i'm a fan.

is there anyone with mechanical knowledge that would be able to tell me what to look at/for?

I am likely bringing a Thai guy with just so he can have a look at paperwork to make sure everything is kosher but idk how much he knows about it.

I was thinking maybe an idea would be to ask them to come with us to a Suzuki dealership and ask them to check it out? I'm not sure if that's something they do (assume yes)

also, I am interested in what tools I should own so I can possibly do my own maintenance after, changing oil, extra wheel and whatnot..

what parts to upgrade (if any), what kind of stuff to buy to clean the dash, you know .. stuff like that.

I also seen that there is a bunch of those trucks that have been converted to LPG only, some have bi-fuel, gasoline and LPG and the originals are gasoline.

I understand that you can switch fuel with a little switch if it's bi-fuel on the right side near the steering wheel but I'm not sure if being bi-fuel is a positive thing or should be avoided.

I am sure we would be doing fine alone but any help is appreciated so I go in there knowing more.
