My pet hate is that the vendor gets your phone number when you make the order. They phone me and say "oh we dont have that colour/item/size but we can send you something similar"
happened to me too once or twice (the call) but once it was because they didn't have a bundled item (2 items one box) and asked me if it was fine to send 2 boxes
the other time was to cancel.
I haven't been attempted an upsell before tho, certainly sucks
I swear sometimes it feels like some people use popular items to just take your data (phone number, name and address)
there are some items i had to order like 5 times in a row cause they were all getting "cancelled, no stock"
then you ask them "why is there 10 items listed on your ad then?" and all you get is "???"

haven't read all the posts but as someone earlier said some of those websites do not allow people from certain countries/providers
for example, I can't access https://www.ebgames.ca/ with 3BB Fiber
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.ebgames.ca/" on this server.
Reference #18.c71da46e.1626084216.5f48f199
but I can access it with a VPN such as the one included in Opera browser

There is a Militarily and Police road back not 500 m from my house with a long line of traffic waiting to be checked. I would say that on a road like BKK to HH you will run a very great risk of being stopped.
similarly last year and after 2-3 days it was empty.. they have no problems putting rules but enforcing them 100% of the way is their problem every single time.
I had to go to BKK last year when they locked down hard and wasn't stopped anywhere from Cha-am to Bang Bon (barely in Bangkok, just after Samut Sakhon) and on the way back only stopped for a drug test and temp check a bit before Mueang Phetchaburi (popular place for diverting)..
all the other "roadblocks" they had was a few of them playing on their phones and others unmanned
do update us if its there the whole 14 days then, i'm curious

So from reading that, it seems that travelling out of Bangkok to anywhere during curfew hours (9pm-3am) is impossible, except in an emergency. What's not clear is whether travel out of Bangkok to places like Hua Hin, Pattaya and Rayong is possible outside curfew hours. Previous reports have implied that travel has to be "necessary", but I've yet to see that defined. It will be interesting to get some first-hand reports. Are checks even being made during the day?
I'm wondering this as well, not for my personal use but out of curiosity (I live in Phetchaburi)
the last 2-3 times they had "lockdowns" like this everyone kept telling me it was impossible to go in Bangkok and out but
the first time they claimed heavy lockdown like this. I had to go get my two puppies and they had locked down JUST before I could get there.. I traveled there with my motorbike from Phetchaburi all the way to Bang Bon (just after Samut Sakhon) and did not encounter a single roadblock or nothing.
on the way back, we were stopped a few km before Mueang Phetchaburi but it was a "drug pee test stop" (my third time in the years i been here) and they only checked my temperature and let us go without much questions.
If anyone does travel out, i'd love to know how it went either way

Nana Dental Clinic total western standard speaks english
quite a bit late for recommendations but yes, I went to this clinic and they were very professional
might I add that the range they gave for cleanup 800-1xxx (I can't remember) they actually charged me the lesser amount which is a thing that has not happened to me in several years.
I live in Cha-am and the one that I wanted was booked for 2-3 weeks, they always charge me the maximum price even tho they claim it starts at 600
I was glad that Nana didn't just flat out charge me the maximum amount like the regular one (and other ones) always do
so, I will go back there next time even if its a much longer drive.

So Diatomaceous earth is the only natural non poison one ?
I wouldn't call them poison (not a chemist) but, they are chemicals insecticide solutions
DE is just very fine sharp powder that screws little insects up.you aren't poisoning them you, it works mechanically by sticking to them, cutting and dessication

I confirm that, there was never any enforcement of this even through now what 3rd-5th lockdowns?
I have a few friends from Bangkok who were/are under the impression that no one was going in or out of Bangkok on every single of those so called lockdowns but every single week there were lots of minivans/buses with weekend tourists in them heading to Hua Hin.
the beach in Cha-am has also been at full parking capacity every single weekend with or without lockdowns and the only exception to that is when they shut down the beach last year (people still came but no one on the beach)

I went to test out of curiosity and pings for Oceania servers for me on 3BB fiber was 120ms average
I was too lazy to log into my American servers but was about 270-300ms easily if I remember correctly from the last time i did.
I gave up trying to play any kind of PVP multiplayer games a long time ago but I wasn't a big fan to begin with so it wasn't a big loss ????

bit of some rambling here but: yeah, sometimes I wonder how business in general works here.
my landlady here has been cranking the price nonstop for years and blaming it on "electric" every time but it's still cheap compared to back home and still 4 digits so there's not much to complain about but..
one day I got my lady friend to call the place across the street that has been renovated years ago and inquire how much they wanted for their unfurnished shophouse (4 floors, 4 rooms total, 1 very small and a medium one on 3rd floor and 2 small ones on top, plus the shophouse ground level.
they wanted 18,000 for it.. if it was 8,000-10,000 I might have taken them up on it (I'm sure the landlady here would have hated me forever tho)
I can walk 5 minutes close by and rent a very similar one for 6000 (but this one has better access)
as a result, it's been empty for over 2 years.
wouldn't take 10,000 per month, 0 per month is clearly better

The list from this site seems still up-to-date.
What I remember from other routers was the possibility to connect a wireless network adapter ("dongle") as an alternative connectivity (mobile network).
Just checked on my HG8145V5 and indeed there is some ftp server to be configured.
yeah, mine is similar, I wanted to use it as a file server/network share for Plex etc but it only worked as an FTP which was a pain and I gave up on it.

you and me both, I have never been able to get this system to work, it very instantly gives the message you got to me as well
If I show up to immigration and show them the page pre-entered (or the app) and ask why.. they don't care, they just shrug and want to process my 90 days report and be done with it.
in my case, yes I had a 90 days report before. I suspect it might be because my TM6 is very old and/or my entry is from about 4 years ago, I don't know

The car drives OR on petrol OR on LPG, not both at the same time.
It automatically switches or manual.
Did they put a LPG tank in the back of the car and therefor left the petrol tank as it was?
Then ok you can have a full tank of petrol, but did you see the gastank still in the car?
Or did they took it out and you only have some left overs from it, the switch?
So no gas installation what so ever, only a switch which indicates it was once there.
LPG is cheaper but you do less km to a liter then with petrol. Also power is less on LPG.
However that said, petrol nowadays is mixed with alcohol, so also brings down km/ltr and power.
I knew they don't run on both (at the same time), was asking if there was a tradeoff to having dual system.
those trucks are only 1600cc so not exactly strong to begin with, so a loss of power isn't all that great but then again I will only be moving my stuff in it once per few years (hopefully) and nothing heavy in between.
I don't know which one I am getting yet, still perusing FB Marketplace and will ask the proper questions when i make contact
I guess I learned that some years had dual system from factory installed but i'm not sure which year they were and if it was only an option
I'm just hoping I can find one that is in good shape, clean and either on petrol only or a switch system then
if dual systems run the "same" on petrol mode as a petrol only model then it's a non issue. i thought maybe it was modified and somehow reduced.
-
so i'm about to buy a little pickup, specifically a Suzuki Carry 2nd hand but noticed some of them are modified to run on LPG only then 50% of the rest are on a LPG/petrol switch of some sort.
I don't really like if the vehicle is "LPG only" because where I plan to be living soon there is a severe lack of LPG stations but is there any reason why I should avoid buying a vehicle with a switch?
like would the engine be less capable or anything like that?
would there be issues if i filled it once with LPG but not use it and only use petrol or vice versa?
I guess my choices is between petrol and petrol+lpg (via some switch).which one should i go for and why
any info on this is welcome, I tried to search for "LPG" and "LPG Conversion" but kept getting rubbish results, sorry if it's been asked 50 times

forgot to add:
I was told and read a few times that you can apparently refuse to take the vehicle from them (after paying) until they provide paperwork/plates to you but I don't know how useful that move is. -
red plates they give you are supposed to look like this (from wikipedia)
"Trade plates carry a significant number of restrictions. Drivers with red plates must seek permission from authorities if they want to use the vehicle at night. Cars with red plates cannot be driven out of the province where the vehicle was registered at purchase. Drivers must ask for permission each time they want to travel outside the specified area. Documents must be in order, with the destination and the dates of travel. Red-plated cars are not allowed to use expressways. Drivers of cars with red plates must have all car-related documents, a proper driving licence, and ID card ready for checks at all times. Police officers are authorized to stop any car with a red plate to examine the car and the driver's documents even if no traffic offence has occurred.[15]
Trade plates are made from pressed alloy, with a red background and black digits. Trade plates are one or two consonants and four digits long."
notice they are embossed and have that Thai seal at the bottom. they should also provide you a brown book that you are supposed to write in whenever you drive outside of registration province and you are not supposed to be driving at night as mentioned above.
if your plates are not like the one above and/or do not have the seal then they are fake ones, also if you didn't get the brown book is a good indication
I got fake plates about 3/3 times only on new motorbikes so far (always the same dealer, mind you)
I knew about this issue and even went to the police station here to ask them if that was a legal plate or not but all they could talk about were my shoes and wouldn't even have a look at it.. when I showed them the a picture they said its no problem blabla. i left annoyed.
they aren't the ones that would stop me and fine me out of province, not having the green book, not having a brown book or driving at night (which I did a lot of)
anyways, regarding the holdup for plates, I asked the DLT directly and they said it was a dealership issue.. from what I understand they keep your money as long as possible in the bank to get interest on and then after 2-3-4+ months they register it as sold and THEN get the plates quite quickly.
I know this must sound like a conspiracy theory but the last time I bought a new bike they told me it would take 4 months to get the green book AND the plates which is was unacceptable for me. I was leaving for a trip across the country in 2-3 weeks. I called their bluff and made myself to be a pain in the side to them, got people calling for me many times, went to the dealership repeatedly and being a general nuisance and then... magically, less than a week later they had my plates ready for me.
btw, my story has nothing to do with Toyota but it seems to be a popular move

With a PE visa you cannot get a 5 year licence anymore. I know it makes no sense but that’s how it is. I used to have a 5 year license prior to getting my Elite visa and on renewal would only issue a 2 year. I did this again in January and again a 2 year only ???? I tried complaining to Thai Elite Visa but fell on deaf ears ????
quite annoying but Elite Visa is just a tourist visa so you get 2 years
apparently I read on here some other people got different results but it's what we're supposed to be getting (same for me)

Thank you for opening this thread.
I have a similar problem. The facts:
- at now in Hua Hin
- on Sunday, 18/4, a family member takes us by pick-up to Chachoensao, ~20/25km away of the BBK-Airport
- we have a flight ticket from BKK to CNX (Chiang Mai) for Monday, 19/4 in the morning
- we planed to go on by minibus from Arcade bus station to our home in the Mae Hong Son Province, at the same day.
Now my question (I'm aware that the quarantine conditions may change until next Monday) :
- must we stay in quarantine in CNX or can we just go on to the Mae Hong Son Province? A quarantine in our home/village woudn't be a problem for us.
following because I am about to do a similar trip (well, moving.. possibly)
from Phetchaburi, either driving my own pickup all the way to MHS
or
getting someone with a bigger pickup to move my stuff and I fly in to CNX and take a minivan to MHS.
by now I've done this trip many times and the only time I ever got stopped is the one or two army checkpoints between MHS and CM -

Chances are the person sorting the parcels coouldn't understand the delivery address and just stamped it "Return to Sender" rather than go to the trouble of getting advice.
that is an actual thing, i order a bunch of things from Lazada and Shopee and it's almost always the same drivers, they know me by now but when it's some obscure company or new drivers they always call which prompts me to run downstairs from the 4th floor and pass the phone to the landlady.. and almost every single time she tells me that they cannot read the address as it was written in Englishalso the address system here at least in some region is quite idiotic (it was the same in Cebu in the Philippines mind you) I used to live at a place which the addressa was say "513 Moo 8" and the address itself meant literally nothing (no house numbers on houses, no street names) and I was in the middle of nowhere, about 3km from the town via at least 3-4 different little sois.. meanwhile, the office where my partner was working was "130 Moo 8" in the middle of town.
in Canada if you were to Google ONLY the postal code where i used to live, it would show you exactly where I lived as its only one side of the street and even has my dad's name and phone number from the directory instantly showing

I'm interested in getting an Xbox Series X but mostly because I have a 3 year subscription to MS Gamepass Ultimate which provides access to 378 games for Xbox and 257 for the PC counterpart + access to full EA Play on both
see https://www.xbox.com/en-ca/xbox-game-pass/games?xr=shellnav (there's a filter at the top)
of course, a lot of those games are on both platforms simultaneously but getting a console + new controller and not having to share my gaming PC if my friend want to play is a bonus
the only issues here is the scalper prices (around 26k at this time) and that the warranty is quite literally non existent being an imported machine

btw this truck is second hand (few years back) but I must have edited the word out (I do go back and edit stuff like that) then and saw it too late to edit it..
so it read like I was getting a second one
alright well I got some good ideas, mostly confirms what I thought I needed.
I actually bought a bunch of other rubbish such as a backup camera, dashcam, replacement steering cover, phone holder, USB charger thing from lighter and prob looking to get some nicer seat and floor covers and random stuff. just waiting to move so I can have parking space for it then imma go hunting on FB marketplace.
lots of poor people selling their stuff on there due to pandemic, can get pretty good pickups for 100-150k, worth a look!

I got like 2-3 different connections to my here over the years and never had problems.. they do sometimes want 1 year in advance payment (probably not a rule) but it was something like 8200 baht for a year for Fiber 1000/400 with 3BB, peanuts really if you need it for work. even if its only for a few months. my friend back home pay more than that for 3 months
just be aware that Chiang Mai is a polluted hell hole for about 3-4 months of the year (February to May at least)
If you don't care about your health and/or like to hide inside with an air purifier for 3-4 months then it's fine I guess.

If it includes a spare tire and the kit to change it, I would buy nothing else extra until I needed it.
oh no, buying them. if a spare tire + kit is the only thing worth buying then it will be that.

Something new is happening...?
in Phuket
Posted
both true but the issue with number two is the delays, I keep seeing they will get 10 million doses of X, Y and Z but they say Q1 2022
by the time they would get 100 million doses of anything that works NOW (Delta? etc) then the virus will have changed and it won't be effective anymore
they would get 100M of Delta variant vaccine in like June next year and by that time they would have the Echo and Foxtrot variant..
Israel had very high % of people vaccinated with Pfizer and I saw news a week or so ago that 40% of the new cases were people that were already vaccinated.
now it's "Vaccine was 39% effective at reducing infection risk and 91% effective at preventing severe illness, Health Ministry says"
