  1. I went to test out of curiosity and pings for Oceania servers for me on 3BB fiber was 120ms average

I was too lazy to log into my American servers but was about 270-300ms easily if I remember correctly from the last time i did.

I gave up trying to play any kind of PVP multiplayer games a long time ago but I wasn't a big fan to begin with so it wasn't a big loss ????

  2. bit of some rambling here but: yeah, sometimes I wonder how business in general works here.

my landlady here has been cranking the price nonstop for years and blaming it on "electric" every time but it's still cheap compared to  back home and still 4 digits so there's not much to complain about but..

one day I got my lady friend to call the place across the street that has been renovated years ago and inquire how much they wanted for their unfurnished shophouse (4 floors, 4 rooms total, 1 very small and a medium one on 3rd floor and 2 small ones on top, plus the shophouse ground level.

they wanted 18,000 for it.. if it was 8,000-10,000 I might have taken them up on it (I'm sure the landlady here would have hated me forever tho)

I can walk 5 minutes close by and rent a very similar one for 6000 (but this one has better access)

as a result, it's been empty for over 2 years.

wouldn't take 10,000 per month, 0 per month is clearly better

The list from this site seems still up-to-date.

What I remember from other routers was the possibility to connect a wireless network adapter ("dongle") as an alternative connectivity (mobile network).

Just checked on my HG8145V5 and indeed there is some ftp server to be configured.

yeah, mine is similar, I wanted to use it as a file server/network share for Plex etc but it only worked as an FTP which was a pain and I gave up on it.

I get the same pop up everyone else who has had issues on every browser on every computer I try which is this one. And I get a slightly different pop up on the mobile app( which is currently not working atm) that everyone else has. Both options happen after the first screen.

    Screen Shot 2564-04-28 at 11.24.25 AM.png

you and me both, I have never been able to get this system to work, it very instantly gives the message you got to me as well

If I show up to immigration and show them the page pre-entered (or the app) and ask why.. they don't care, they just shrug and want to process my 90 days report and be done with it.

in my case, yes I had a 90 days report before. I suspect it might be because my TM6 is very old and/or my entry is from about 4 years ago,  I don't know

The car drives OR on petrol OR on LPG, not both at the same time.

    It automatically switches or manual.

Did they put a LPG tank in the back of the car and therefor left the petrol tank as it was?

Then ok you can have a full tank of petrol, but did you see the gastank still in the car?

Or did they took it out and you only have some left overs from it, the switch?

So no gas installation what so ever, only a switch which indicates it was once there.

LPG is cheaper but you do less km to a liter then with petrol. Also power is less on LPG.

However that said, petrol nowadays is mixed with alcohol, so also brings down km/ltr and power.

I knew they don't run on both (at the same time), was asking if there was a tradeoff to having dual system.

those trucks are only 1600cc so not exactly strong to begin with, so a loss of power isn't all that great but then again I will only be moving my stuff in it once per few years (hopefully) and nothing heavy in between.

I don't know which one I am getting yet, still perusing FB Marketplace and will ask the proper questions when i make contact

I guess I learned that some years had dual system from factory installed but i'm not sure which year they were and if it was only an option

I'm just hoping I can find one that is in good shape, clean and either on petrol only or a switch system then

if dual systems run the "same" on petrol mode as a petrol only model then it's a non issue. i thought maybe it was modified and somehow reduced.

  6. so i'm about to buy a little pickup, specifically a Suzuki Carry 2nd hand but noticed some of them are modified to run on LPG only then 50% of the rest are on a LPG/petrol switch of some sort.

I don't really like if the vehicle is "LPG only" because where I plan to be living soon there is a severe lack of LPG stations but is there any reason why I should avoid buying a vehicle with a switch?

like would the engine be less capable or anything like that?

would there be issues if i filled it once with LPG but not use it and only use petrol or vice versa?

I guess my choices is between petrol and petrol+lpg (via some switch).

which one should i go for and why

any info on this is welcome, I tried to search for "LPG" and "LPG Conversion" but kept getting rubbish results, sorry if it's been asked 50 times

  7. red plates they give you are supposed to look like this (from wikipedia)

    TargaThai NeroSuRosso.jpg

"Trade plates carry a significant number of restrictions. Drivers with red plates must seek permission from authorities if they want to use the vehicle at night. Cars with red plates cannot be driven out of the province where the vehicle was registered at purchase. Drivers must ask for permission each time they want to travel outside the specified area. Documents must be in order, with the destination and the dates of travel. Red-plated cars are not allowed to use expressways. Drivers of cars with red plates must have all car-related documents, a proper driving licence, and ID card ready for checks at all times. Police officers are authorized to stop any car with a red plate to examine the car and the driver's documents even if no traffic offence has occurred.[15]

Trade plates are made from pressed alloy, with a red background and black digits. Trade plates are one or two consonants and four digits long."

notice they are embossed and have that Thai seal at the bottom. they should also provide you a brown book that you are supposed to write in whenever you drive outside of registration province and  you are not supposed to be driving at night as mentioned above.

if your plates are not like the one above and/or do not have the seal then they are fake ones, also if you didn't get the brown book is a good indication

I got fake plates about 3/3 times only on new motorbikes so far (always the same dealer, mind you)

I knew about this issue and even went to the police station here to ask them if that was a legal plate or not but all they could talk about were my shoes and wouldn't even have a look at it.. when I showed them the a picture they said its no problem blabla. i left annoyed.

they aren't the ones that would stop me and fine me out of province, not having the green book, not having a brown book or driving at night (which I did a lot of)

anyways, regarding the holdup for plates, I asked the DLT directly and they said it was a dealership issue.. from what I understand they keep your money as long as possible in the bank to get interest on and then after 2-3-4+ months they register it as sold and THEN get the plates quite quickly.

I know this must sound like a conspiracy theory but the last time I bought a new bike they told me it would take 4 months to get the green book AND the plates which is was unacceptable for me. I was leaving for a trip across the country in 2-3 weeks.  I called their bluff and made myself to be a pain in the side to them, got people calling for me many times, went to the dealership repeatedly and being a general nuisance and then... magically, less than a week later they had my plates ready for me.

btw, my story has nothing to do with Toyota but it seems to be a popular move

With a PE visa you cannot get a 5 year licence anymore. I know it makes no sense but that’s how it is. I used to have a 5 year license prior to getting my Elite visa and on renewal would only issue a 2 year. I did this again in January and again a 2 year only ???? I tried complaining to Thai Elite Visa but fell on deaf ears ????

quite annoying but Elite Visa is just a tourist visa so you get 2 years

apparently I read on here some other people got different results but it's what we're supposed to be getting (same for me)

Thank you for opening this thread.

I have a similar problem. The facts:

    - at now in Hua Hin

    - on Sunday, 18/4, a family member takes us by pick-up to Chachoensao, ~20/25km away of the BBK-Airport

    - we have a flight ticket from BKK to CNX (Chiang Mai) for Monday, 19/4 in the morning

    - we planed to go on by minibus from Arcade bus station to our home in the Mae Hong Son Province, at the same day.

Now my question (I'm aware that the quarantine conditions may change until next Monday) :

    - must we stay in quarantine in CNX or can we just go on to the Mae Hong Son Province? A quarantine in our home/village woudn't be a problem for us.

following because I am about to do a similar trip (well, moving.. possibly)

from Phetchaburi, either driving my own pickup all the way to MHS
    or
getting someone with a bigger pickup to move my stuff and I fly in to CNX and take a minivan to MHS.

by now I've done this trip many times and the only time I ever got stopped is the one or two army checkpoints between MHS and CM

Chances are the person sorting the parcels coouldn't understand the delivery address and just stamped it "Return to Sender" rather than go to the trouble of getting advice.

that is an actual thing, i order a bunch of things from Lazada and Shopee and it's almost always the same drivers, they know me by now but when it's some obscure company or new drivers they always call which prompts me to run downstairs from the 4th floor and pass the phone to the landlady.. and almost every single time she tells me that they cannot read the address as it was written in English

also the address system here at least in some region is quite idiotic (it was the same in Cebu in the Philippines mind you) I used to live at a place which the addressa was say "513 Moo 8" and the address itself meant literally nothing (no house numbers on houses, no street names) and I was in the middle of nowhere, about 3km from the town via at least 3-4 different little sois.. meanwhile, the office where my partner was working was "130 Moo 8" in the middle of town.

in Canada if you were to Google ONLY the postal code where i used to live, it would show you exactly where I lived as its only one side of the street and even has my dad's name and phone number from the directory instantly showing

  11. I'm interested in getting an Xbox Series X but mostly because I have a 3 year subscription to MS Gamepass Ultimate which provides access to 378 games for Xbox and 257 for the PC counterpart + access to full EA Play on both

see https://www.xbox.com/en-ca/xbox-game-pass/games?xr=shellnav (there's a filter at the top)

of course, a lot of those games are on both platforms simultaneously but getting a console + new controller and not having to share my gaming PC if my friend want to play is a bonus

the only issues here is the scalper prices (around 26k at this time) and that the warranty is quite literally non existent being an imported machine

  12. btw this truck is second hand (few years back) but I must have edited the word out (I do go back and edit stuff like that) then and saw it too late to edit it..

so it read like I was getting a second one

alright well I got some good ideas, mostly confirms what I thought I needed.

I actually bought a bunch of other rubbish such as a backup camera, dashcam, replacement steering cover, phone holder, USB charger thing from lighter and prob looking to get some nicer seat and floor covers and random stuff.  just waiting to move so I can have parking space for it then imma go hunting on FB marketplace.

lots of poor people selling their stuff on there due to pandemic, can get pretty good pickups for 100-150k, worth a look!

  13. I am about to buy a second Suzuki Carry and was looking to see if there were any extra parts I should be buying while visiting the dealership for a checkup

I have already a tire inflater and a few gimmicks but nothing for a proper little tool kit and get a jack but.. should I get an extra air filter, timing belt, wheels, oil filters, wiper blades, fuses, sparkplug and/or what else?

my dad was a mechanic but he left home when I was young, I could know all this but ya

  14. for me, I always take 24" monitors for 1080p or 1440p but would go to 27" for 4k but those are mostly used for work and gaming

I got a TV recently which is more like a monitor than a TV (but it does have a tuner so it's a TV), it's the LG OLED48CX

    https://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-oled48cxpub-oled-4k-tv

it's 4K, 120hz, has G-Sync and HDR and the blacks are like it was turned off

anyways, the difference is the pixel per inch (PPI)

    on average:

    24″ at 1080p is 92 PPI
    24″ at 1440 is 122 PPI
    24″ at 4K is 184 PPI
    27″ at 1080p is 82 PPI
    27″ at 1440 is 109 PPI
    27″ at 4K is 163 PPI
    32″ at 1080p is 70 PPI
    32″ at 1440 is 93 PPI
    32″ at 4K is 140 PPI
    43″ at 4K is 104 PPI
    48" at 4K is 92 PPI

so yes, my 48" TV is exactly the same resolution and PPI as putting 4x 24" 1080p monitors together in a square

quality of monitor and viewing distance is mostly the issue. my friend has a 1080p 32" monitor (I do too) and he thought it was a good idea because it was "bigger" but you can see the pixels at a desk distance and he has asked me to resize the task bar and everything because its too big.

for my usage, I would prefer if PPI is over 100 but I can live with 92 a bit lower.. I do see pixels around 70 on the 32 but it's not bad.

  15. I agree with the above, Ryzen 5 3600 is a good base .. depending on case you should still be able to fit most video cards tho (can check the model on Google etc)

I built a computer with a R5 3600 but already had a power supply and case and I believe I spent 14k then I snagged a 1660 Super from some dude that likely upgraded to 3000 series for I believe 6500 baht

i checked recently on Facebook marketplace tho and the prices have been like 50% higher

GPU shortage is not because of Bitcoin mining (useless to use a GPU for that) but because it's in low quantity and scalpers buy them to resell them at 150-200% of the price

  16. gonna be honest haven't read all the five pages but there are two additional issues i have with driving here

the usually black SUVs that come behind you in the middle lane at like 180+ km/h flashing lights instead of switching lanes and expecting you to move and almost crash into you if you don't
the 400 IQ people that will pass you at high speeds just to cut in front of you and then instantly turn left (or right) usually to a gas station

  17. Pai is always a mess  around these times. I am not surprised it was 471 a few days ago.

I was there a few years back and my air sensor meter locked at 500, it wasn't engineered to go higher (lol)

here are before and after pictures from same location, I don't think that the second one is a 400+ day but it must have been close
I have added a black line on second where the mountain should be and third one is what you can see from the sun in the morning over the mountain

note the state of the trees, this is not a long time apart, maybe a few weeks but that tree lost almost all its leaves

  18. simple story of it is he used twitter to say "hey, the coin of the day is (insert coin) and then people would buy this coin like vultures, making it go 100-200% higher in minutes while he was buying them for weeks before (and his friends I am sure)

so they would be the one selling that coin at 200% to them, they would get rich and then it would crash quickly back to almost normal and then people would lose money.

I saw those 4 years ago and I reckon it was daily. i don't follow twitter so who knows how many times he did that.

the only thing I know is that 12 millions is peanuts compared to what he REALLY made. he could have made that easily in a single week from it.
