Like Sweden has successfully done? What a novel idea! Daily Covid deaths have hit zero there.

Trafficking is a huge part of the sex-for-sale industry in Thailand, but only when you see the girls parents or other family members being the traffickers. Many girls from poor families have no other options than to work in the sex-trade, because they, in addition to their eventual children, are required to provide for their parents and often other family members as well. Setting up a state pension fund for the many poor elderly people, should be the Thai governments highest priority.
And where do they get the money from to set up that fund? From the proverbial money tree in the backyard of Parliament House?

If you are in Pattaya, yes they will for most immigration requirements. One agent who will do this has their office on Soi Chaiyapruek (on left side just up from Jomtien beach Rd). VIP maybe?
I believe you are referring to Tik Tok Services. https://tiktokservicesthailand.com/
They advertise door to door service

So you want the bars to open, and you want to be able to go out and party with the boys and let the world just get on with infecting itself and letting people die, really? Are you that selfish, or is this just a trolling post.
I van only answer yes. Because a person can only say "woke" things on this forum, I cannot explain my position.

Maybe it's time to abandon the entire concept of this virus being a pandemic and getting on with our lives?

I wonder if anyone in the Thai government has taken a look at what is happening in India?
-
Why not? Sounds like great idea. Worked so well the last few times it was attempted.

He forgot scenario #5:
Thailand gets the full Indian virus treatment starting in August, with 50,000 new cases every day and over 1,000 people dying. Hospitals and crematoria are overwhelmed, patients are dying in hospital car parks and bodies washing up on the beaches. Finally, the government abandons its plans to reopen to foreign tourists as nobody was making a booking anyway, and puts the entire country under total lockdown. Total foreign tourists = those who arrived in the Phuket sandbox before it was abandoned, or less than 10,000.
If that happens, perhaps they should do what the Indians did: Ivermectin protocol.

I plan to apply for a 90 day Single Entry Non-Immigrant Type O for Retirement Visa in my home country. Can anyone tell me the duration of validity of such a visa? As in how long after it is issued do I have before It expires or I have to use it? I was planning on applying for it in August and using it next February. Are they good for 6 months or a year?

I will be doing the same and i dont care if nothing is open, beats being in isolation in a hotel for 2 weeks
Agreed. I don't think there will be very many genuine tourists. Just returnees not wanting to be trapped in a hotel room for 14 days

40 minutes ago, Caldera said:The Chinese government hasn't given any indication so far that Chinese citizens who return to China won't have to quarantine at state facilities any longer.
This quarantine upon return, by itself, limits the number of outbound Chinese tourists dramatically.
Nothing the Thai government can do about this, but the fact that Thailand will increasingly be seen as a high risk destination sure won't help.
They don't quarantine in state facilities. Anyone entering China is taken to a 2 or 3 star hotel or even sometimes a 4 star. You have no choice which hotel and the "guides" in the buses wont even tell you where you are headed. You end up at your hotel and that is where you stay; be it a dump or be it a luxury facility. A fellow worker was the only Guilao (foreigner) on a bus and when it arrived at the destination hotel, the Chinese travellers refused to get off the bus. He said there was a near riot because the hotel was a dump. The police were called and they talked about half the people off. They told my friend to stay on the bus. It then went to a different hotel which was even more of a dump. Chinese people know what awaits them upon return to China and they aren't interested.

As someone who is in China having to complete 3 weeks mandatory quarantine (2 weeks in a state hotel) puts everyone off.
Coupled with an increase in media FUD that China is the safest place right now, all Chinese I know, don't wan't to leave and take the risk of traveling to Thailand or anywhere else for a holiday, especially to a country that is riddled with COVID and has a poor vaccination programme.
This news article should be filed in the section of pure fantasy.
Agreed. I am in China as well. Have been since February this time. The locals I deal with all tell me that their government is indicating that they don't expect travel issues to change until at least next summer. I had to quarantine in entry city two weeks, then destination city another week and then a final week of observation before I could go to work. What kind of dope are those Thai officials smoking? Hopium?

"Cowboy" and the "wild west" are always used by Commonwealth people to refer to anything inefficient. Wild West or not, Wyatt Earp in Tombstone in 1881 loved ice cream--and how, you may ask, could anyone get ice cream in the southern Arizona desert before the introduction of electricity? Trains packed with ice were able to make it all the way down from Alaska and northern Maine. And Paris/NY fashions were only a year behind. People could order anything by train using the Sears catalogue.
Trains all the way down from Alaska??? On which railroad would that have been on?

Although I agree with your point in general, Western politicians didn't exactly do great on this front for most of the pandemic either.
I would venture to say that is the understatement of the century

As the IP asked, what are the potential negative consequences if a person simply doesn't do 90 day reports and elects to just pay the 2000 baht fine on renewal of their extension? Treat the 2000 baht as just an additional extension expense?

I hope I can get one next time I arrive. Be great fun to put it through various torture tests like in the old Timex Watch commercials.

If it is closed again, it would be the second time around. There used to be a branch on the corner of Soi 5 and Jomtien Beach road but it closed many years ago. All of a sudden my account was at the branch in the Big C mall across from SabaiLand. Then they opened the Jomtien branch of which is mentioned in this thread.

OK, so i just uninstalled again today and downloaded Line from the Apple App store and installed it. Everything is the same. Can't use it. Can't log in either way. QR code or using email and password. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

In China for the Sinovac, it is 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the province.

Line recently quit on my Mac. I have uninstalled it and re-installed it to no avail. I can't get the QR code so I can log in. I get a pop-up stating failing to access network. I have tried with VPN on or off. No difference.
