That's way out of my league for bike maint ....
This afternoon went to the shop to test ride the scrambler ... Was impressed ... They also had an MT07, test rode that and was even more impressed....very light and agile ...feels more like a 500 than a 700 .... chucking in the Scrambler's service costs, i'm leaning towards the MT07 ....
Will sleep on it ...

Have had a Ful Throttle since 2015, 25,000kms and counting. I paid 300K for it with 2,000kms on it, i think it was about 420K new at the time.
Pro's:
Looks great
Handles well, great fun ( not been off road on it )
Great sound with stock Termi
Reliable ( never let me down )
Very comfortable seat
Con's:
It's quite low if you're tall
<deleted> turning circle
No fuel gauge ( slightly annoying )
Hope this helps, i'm sure at Ducati they'll let you take one for a test drive.
Wow, a very interesting and informative post .....
I'm 5'10" and the second hand one i sat on at a local dealers (a red "Icon") fitted me like a glove, could "flat foot" with both feet ...
Love the comment that its "great fun" - thats what i'm looking for - So many drab and boring bikes out there......
What about servicing costs ? ive heard they need lots of money chucking at them to keep them on the road ?

Are you asking if they are good as a scrambler/dirt bike?
No, not really, cos i think using it on the dirt would wreck it ! - im my book its a road bike, that if you see a (dry) dirt track, you could go down and explore without too much problem ......

I'm thinking of getting a Ducati Scrambler - Does anyone here own one (or has owned one) ? and could tell me the pro's and cons before i jump in feet first.....

Technically you can insure it for the compulsory third party damage/injury (Por Ror Bor) insurance that's required for the road tax using just the VIN alone, for example, 50cc bikes can no longer be registered for a number plate(some were grandfathered in from the 80s/early 90s) but they are not illegal to use on the road, some would have the insurance papers in place of the road tax.
Sorry to pee on your bonfire, but any petrol engined motorcycle regardless of engine size has to be registered / have road tax / govt insurance to be legally ridden on the road .....
There is no exemption for " 49cc's" ....
If a bike has been imported (again regardless of engine size) and it can't be registered, for what ever reason - Then it can't be legaly riden on the road...
There are hundreds of these 49cc bikes kicking around - imported from Japan with no papers, so no book / plate / tax and there is an old wives tale that they are "exempt" .....
And how do i know ?
2 years ago i bought one of these said 49ers from a seller in BKK who assured me "49cc bike exempt" .....
So bike bought, but just to be on the safe side i popped into Pattaya police station with a photo of the bike, and asked for official confirmation......
Lady tourist police on the desk by entrance "not legal on road" .....i was having none of it, so asked to speak to someone from "traffic" - Guy came out, i repeated my story and showed photo - "Not legal" ..... Still having none of it, i asked to speak to his boss - 5 min later a bloke with loads of pips on his shoulders came out and i again repeated my story - This time adding that i'd been to the police in BKK and was told that "49cc bikes are exempt" ..... he was having none of it - and repeated what his colleagues had said - "if it has a petrol engine, regardless of size, it has to be registered / taxed / insured - If not the bike could be confiscated" .....
My lady used the bike round the back sois to go up to the shops, never venturing onto any "main" road - luckily never saw a policeman.....
Sold it now cos she passed her test and has a "normal " scooter that's registered / taxed / insured ......
So when buyer asked me if it was ok riding it on the road with no registration - what you think i said ? ?

Every retirement extension is signed off by the chief immigration officer at the office the where application is made, regardless if the applicant does the extension themselves or uses an agent ....
He's the boss - if he's happy with the application / paperwork and signs it off - it's done and dusted...... End of ...

Honda ADV150 ....
Rides like an auto dirtbike, light and nimble through the traffic like a hot knife through butter, plenty of underseat storage for the 7/11 trip...... f/r disc brakes, ABS and longer front forks / gas rear shocks help to iron out the bumps....
Out of town, great round the back road twisties, but obviously not suitable for high speed dual carriage way riding (but tbh, with the state of the roads, sensible speeds rule...) ...

Just renewed my 2020 Forza, it was Bt.5800.
will be paying 70% of the bike's value, tops - so hardly anything to write home about ....

The Forza is keyless isn't it, so you don't have much to worry about. That makes them all but impossible to ride off with. It also means that the ignition switch cannot be replaced without knowing the keycode.
Their relative rarity would also make them an unattractive steal.
Ride on with confidence and enjoy.
where did you gleen this information ?
6 months ago, i lost the remote key for my Honda ADV150 - a guy came out with a laptop..... over-rode the bike's ECU with a new key code and handed me a new key - 5 mins later the bike was started allowing me to ride home......

No excuse. You had 15 days prior, or 7 days post due time, to report in person. Or get someone to do it for you. You are at fault end of. Pay the fine .
I'm guessing small one, not big one .....

He can on Monday (no holiday until the 26th) and apply for the extension and be fined for 3 days or overstay which is 500 baht per day.
Immigration will do the extension without a problem after the overstay fine is paid.
Thanks Joe ..... Took him to a visa agent (pattaya) this morning - They are sorting everything on Monday - 1,500 b overstay as you said ....

I went round my pals today, and he showed me his passport .....
His Retirement extension expired today (British passport holder) and by the time he told me immigration had already shut, and apparently they are not open on monday (holiday ?) ....
My question to you learned folk is:
Can he rock up to immigration on tues and renew his retirement extension and appologise for being a couple of days late ??
Or - will he have to start again and leave the country ??
TIA ...
Got the bike now looking for a couple of "biking buddies"
