  1. It might be useful for you to know that Thailand has no "good samaritan" laws to legally protect anyone offering aid in such a circumstance.

The ethics of the situation might be an interesting conversation for another time.

OK I'll accept that BUT he is not some Joe Shmoe with basic first aid training he is a trained medic.

Personally I feel the ethics of his actions are as interesting if not more so than the guy who had the problem or the fact once again a pack of Thai cowards jumped a single guy. We all know what Thai's are like when it comes to a fight but a fellow trained medic tourist sitting back doing nothing. Thats more newsworthy....

  2. Lol para yer last night! Anyway I think you worked out going on any way sounds like I'm bail, ahhh got to work hate night shift

Wanna share any details about 'her'?

I have a feeling you will get the same sentence as before 32 days which is harsh going on what others have received but a lot less than most countries. This time mate stay in and get it out the way will ya!

Hey at least you have the choice to be able to work mate imagine if you didn't get the permission to leave......

  3. I have no idea, I can only suppose he is following the first rule I was taught, dont put your own life in danger to help someone else.

Who knows what would have happened had the "medic" decided to play the hero, the crowd turns on him as well?

I'm curious considering his choice of profession how would you feel if say firefighters took the same cowardly approach to a job they are trained in?

The Thai Motorbike Taxi Guys had No Business in this Fight.

That is probably why you don't see a report of any arrests of the establishment empolyees or owners.

It wasn't a fight, a fight is one on one, man to man.

    Regards.

It was a Thai fight so 5 or 6 onto 1 is considered normal by their standards.,....

  4. Once I am asking a question, not looking for a lesson in life. Cheers to anybody posting any positive information.

Asking for advice on TV is pretty hard to come by. This thread is now over 300 posts long how many offering helpful advice without judgement?

Remember if you choose to judge someones actions you have to accept being judged yourself so all BM's who have never done anything wrong please post and I am sure Todd1985 will actually listen to you. As for the rest of the keyboard gangsters get a life.

BTW met anyone nice on Facebook recently?

  5. Please do let me know what would make you like a story about a paramedic standing by watching a man nearly beaten to death?

I'm curious to hear about this as well.

Whats worse a drunk older Farrang (possibly causing a nuisance) and getting kicked to $hit by a pack coward soi dogs or the Farrang medic that sits there watching and not helping?

  6. It would be interesting to know if there is any legal premise for a paramedic to assist this man in Thailand? If so I highly suspect that he will not be coming forward now after this post adding even less credibility to it.

I know in the UK they are duty bound to care/assist.

Forget the legalities of a trained helper standing back and watching just hope you never need him back at home. Disgusting regardless of fault or reason someone with his skills would do nothing.

My problem with that is this - nine years in town, no previous and his first proper hiding? If he whacks women this would of happened long ago in my humble opinion. Too many holes in the story, though why am I not surprised. It's a Thai story.

You generally find the truth to be somewhere in between what 2 sides are saying. The guy has admitted he was drunk and IMO was more than likely being a pain in the ass BUT nothing excuses what these animals are allowed to get away with doing almost on a daily basis.

  7. The more they try to confuse the story, the more it detracts from what has actually happened? Is that not the Thai way?

The more doubt that can be caused the more chance these cowards get to walk as once again a 'bad' tourist has come to Pattaya and started trouble which they tried to help stop but he was going to assault an old Thai lady so they 'restrained him'

  8. personally I stay away from WS

But with all disrespect, you are probably thicker than an elephant's penis.

Unable to even negotiate a few basic problems through.

I've had disagreements aplenty in Pattaya yet have solved them amicably and with no recourse to violence of this nature.

Oh dear looks like I am also an elephants penis I always try and talk then get bored and lay them out. But once out I leave them alone to sleep.....violin.gif

  9. Seen similar before, unfortunately my friend just got milked over 3 years by an influential helper .Then a proper lawyer advised him, 200 k deposit, yet it stil took another 18 mths eventualy he just left Thailand before his case was ever finished.

Normally getting passport back just means leave while you can.

Try tilkes in Bangkok pretty expensive but good.

If his case was in a BKK court I would say using a BKK lawyer is wise. His is in Pattaya and he is finally with one of the best law firms here. Local connections always grease wheels....

  10. Yer cool chivas... I think your the first person to say that on this thread, never made a mistake in life, probably not your probably like the other 200 dick heads who have posted to my thread who haven't.

Always one mug turns up late to the show guess he was out getting his certificate for setting such a perfect example for all the ex-pats that make Pattaya such a bad place.

  11. The simple truth here and possible education for us all is - never under any circumstance have a dispute with a bar owner in walking street - it has been proven time and time again over the years that the MB Taxi drivers and others in the area are ready and more than willing to get involved as a gang using weapons they have stashed in various places nearby - they will beat you to a pulp and take great pleasure doing it

If you are in a bar on walking street and you find an error in your bill or are accused of something that you did or didn't do you are in big trouble if you try to dispute the issue - you will be set upon by the local soi dogs and end up either severely injured or dead - this sort of sh#$t goes down on the beach everyday were tourists are victims of assault and violent threats, I have witnessed a few of these attacks on WS and read about many more

This particular incident that was caught on camera offers a very close insite as to what to expect from these thugs - and for those that live here and don't frequent WS I'll bet part of the reason is the fact that it's a dangerous place

Smedley I totally agree with what you are saying problem is getting ripped off when sober you make (logical) allowances for it after all TiT right? Throw a few drinks in and its not always a case of getting brave but getting bored with the way a lot of tourists are taken for fools.

As you say and I will repeat it for the BM's that are tucked up in bed by 10pm it happens all the time. These dogs don't need provoking they hang around waiting for it. Here is a YT clip I am sure you have all seen before but shows how if its not a pack in front it will be a sucker punch from behind.

  12. Yes please. Because I can't say I make a habit of walking around Pattaya at breakfast time drunk. Do you?

Well I like a late start late finish drink so am often out 6am and thats when it starts really warming up.....

That's why 'normal' BM's don't ever see this side of things because they are at home asleep. Not knocking their choice just the ignorance to accept things do go bump in the night.

  13. Cheers para for the help! The copper got the courts to allow me to leave and come back! Read the document I pasted in the previous post

Happy to mate I only hope I have done something that has either helped you better the position you are in and what can be done to get it resolved.

You will see my first post said nothing added up but that was simply because you had not been told anything by the people 'helping'. All the mugs were calling me out as being full of BS but I was the one who said it would be better to stay away and let the all knowing critics wear themselves out slating you.

You screwed up and you know it but for a VERY rare change are prepared to face the consequences. I wonder if all the hand wringers would have the guts to do that?

If you need me to liaise with the lawyers NP you have my email.

    Be lucky.....

  14. Well there were actually TWO versions of the one side of the story posted. One source said the gent damaged a hookah, the second a snooker cue (or 'rod' as they called it).

Either way, it is indeed funny to see the moral highgrounders applying their outrage when the only vile behaviour on show here is from the Thai lads; the rest is mere hearsay.

And how nice for a rare change to get the Farrang side of it? Strange how they are never the same its always the tourists that start. Dont get me wrong I know many do but not all.

Also shame on Thai TV for slanting the report the way they did......

  15. Totally agree...they are cowards. But people seem to imply this is a "Thai thing" when in fact it is not.

But mate I live in Thailand so have zero interest in whats going on in London now. Of course no one is saying its only Thai's but this is a Thai forum so we discuss whats around us.

Quite sure if you found a Canadian forum say, there would be no bashing of Thai pack cowards......

Its social failure on a global scale but in most countries its also part of growing up and eventually out of. Responsibility comes along and gang hunting is no longer the focus. Unless you live in a country where certain people dont take responsibility then it stays....
