  1. "If anyone notices any suspected illegal foreign taxi drivers please call the 1584 hotline. A taxi driver in Thailand is one an occupation only for Thai citizens and not for foreigners." Of course I will. I fully support the friendly and affordable legal services.
  2. It said Krabi, not Phuket... Koh Hong is in the Krabi area.
  3. Brought in by their own buddies, that are just the same. The irony ????‍♂️ As for Chuwit: What a brave man. A legend. Are there t-shirts with him on it?
  4. That is pretty clear as cake. For someone with limited knowledge I actually do understand what to aim for now. And indeed, the option for a 12v fan could make things way easier. A bit the direction that was already mentioned by @Denim More things to consider... Thanks!
  5. Looking into that as well... Thank you. Although would prefer to get this set properly working if possible.
  6. Hi, We have an outside shed quite a distance away from the house, for which we got sold a solar set from our local electrician shop. We only want to run a fan (60w , 220v) and a light (5w, 12v). Let's say for 8 hours a day. As I did not know anything about solar, I was advised. And now I think not well advised as I start to read more and more. The problem is that after a few hours we run out of power, due to the voltage drop of the battery. So the guy sold us a 60w panel, a 20ah gel battery, charger controller 10 amps and a 1500w inverter. My thoughts are that the inverter is way to heavy. We would never require more than 100w on this system. So does this drain most of the battery? What would be the ideal combo here? The calculators and formulas do my head in ???? Thanks in advance.
  7. Prawit will need 2 deputy PM's to support him... while walking...
  8. This could be easily summarized with one word only ...
  9. NEVER ! leave your passport anywhere. You are actually not allowed to as stated by your government. Not even immigration can ask you to leave it with them, unless you are being detained or some other legally serious situation.
  10. You are contradicting yourself. If it is law, it will be considered fact. Plus you show here yourself that Airbnb itself is not illegal, while you said it is. A bit of nuance needs to be added when making a brief statement like you did. “The Hua Hin ruling has made it clear that short-term renting on a daily or weekly basis to tourists is illegal,” says Chris Potranandana, a partner at the law firm Strathmore Litigation and Asset Management. “To make it legal, the hosts need to have a Hotel License.” Source: https://bk.asia-city.com/city-living/news/heres-what-airbnb-ban-really-means-bangkok/
  11. Airbnb is not illegal in Thailand. Also not illegal to rent per night. It all depends where you do your fact checking. Reminds me of some global thing we had recently... Fact: I rent out a property for years already, PER NIGHT. I report to immigration by app and I have a license from the authorities. They came by and checked the house. A year or so ago Airbnb has held online seminars for Thailand hosts. It's all possible. You just need to have your place registered and pay tax. These are true facts.
