Report Thai Troops on High Alert Amidst Rising Tensions at Cambodian Border
Homburg replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
There is apparently no truth in the rumor that this is part of a campaign for new/improved/increased armaments due to a very urgent need for brown envelopes. -

Health Covid-19's XEC Variant Spreads Like Wildfire, Says Thai Health Ministry
Homburg replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just had 3-4 days of coughing, sneezing and nose running, mostly gone now. Just like a cold except for the tiredness (slept a good part of the first day of having symptoms and much of the day before symptoms appeared) and loss of appetite. So more likely COVID than a cold? No idea which variant (scariant?), I did read that it was expected that the impact of the virus would lessen both with successive infections and over time. If this was COVID then it was certainly more mild than the first time I caught this, not life threatening (in my case at least), just a minor inconvenience. So outside of "at risk" groups, it seems that this "wave" may be no biggie. -

Crime Israeli Man Arrested for Using Fake Passport at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Homburg replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
From reading the OP it appears that Thai immigration found that his fingerprints matched those of another Israeli named Mr. Kakon - but does that mean he is Mr Kakon or does it mean that he at some time had passed through Thai immigration using a passport that identified him as Mr Kakon? Perhaps his genuine passport will be found in his luggage, but there is otherwise no indication in the OP that he was in possession of another passport? These days immigration links to airline passenger data so a reasonable expectation would be that there would be an issue in Israel if he tried to change passports and enter using a name not on any passenger manifest (especially as reports that I have read suggest that Israeli airport security is far tighter than in many other destinations) so I'm not sure that Israeli immigration would have admitted him? -
Crime Israeli Man Arrested for Using Fake Passport at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Homburg replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Why would anyone do that? I'd expect that passport control in Israel would be absolutely certain to pick up a fake document, so he wouldn't be able to enter the country, Does that suggest that whatever he had in mind only required that he successfully board the aircraft? Perhaps check his luggage very, very, very carefully. -

Report Police Clamp Down on Prostitution to Protect Pattaya’s Image
Homburg replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Something apparently lost in translation here? In order to "rejuvenate" something it must have existed at some point in the past. Prostitution is illegal in Thailand. The allure of Pattaya was built on illegal activities. -
