  1. What's the point of "informing which way /one way"? It makes no difference to Thais who would ignore that anyway.
  2. "....Thailand’s most famous policeman..." Should that be "Thailand’s most infamous policeman"?
  3. Lived in London around 60 years and watched it change. It used to be a very safe city, but it no longer is. I tend to avoid going out at night in London nowadays, nowhere in London is as safe as Bangkok.
  4. R.I.P. Ms. Kamonnan Thiamphanit. London is an increasingly dangerous city.
  5. The Macavity of Thai politics. Never a dull moment!
  6. The warnings being posted here are possibly the best free advice that you will ever receive. Don't even think about it unless you have powerful, connected friends able (and willing? - and if so, how much will that cost?) to manage the BIB, various tax authorities and City Hall. Google "Pattaya jet ski scam". That will give you an idea of some other challenges you are likely to face. If you start a business there then even when you believe that you have all the necessary permits, permissions and payoffs in place you will find yourself assailed by a constant stream of "officials" (some genuine, others less so, and even the fake officials can be accompanied by the BIB to make you believe that they are genuine) with eye-watering "fines" that you will have to pay due to an alleged transgression of a law or failure to pay a "tax" of which you were unaware, or failure to get a permit the obtention of which is impossible, and even the genuine officials will hit you with trumped-up fines/taxes - because they can. As a foreigner, you are the low-hanging fruit.
  7. Good question. I could understand it in relation to the man as yet unidentified as it could assist in identification, but for Wu Lian Sheng it makes no sense.
  8. Bangers will stay cool because all that pollution will block out the sunlight! It's all good! 😂🤣😂
  9. It is already dead, it just does not yet realise it.
  10. RIP Nurisan Phromsri. It is reported that her younger brother was recently shot dead, allegedly by insurgents, but perhaps this second shooting could be suggestive of a more personal motive in both killings?
  11. I wonder if the driver's face was as red as the Ferrari?
  12. It sounds like this fisherman may be using the wrong bait?
  13. This point is in a way (almost unbelievably) actually correct, although not in the way that the it is put in the article because it is the change in the Earth's rotational speed that requires the subtraction of a leap second, not a change in "the essence of time". Nevertheless, time really is being impacted by global warming. We all tend to assume that time passes at the same rate everywhere on Earth, but this is not the case. According to Einstein's Theory of General Relativity (no, seriously!) time does not flow at a constant rate everywhere in the Universe, but will flow at different rates depending on the warpage of space-time by gravity, with time passing more slowly as gravity increases. Global warming is moving mass from the poles to the oceans and is therefore impacting gravity at different points on the Earth's surface (now reduced at the poles and increased in the oceans - mostly at or near the equator) and with it the flow rate of time at those different points on the Earth's surface. So as the polar ice melts time passes more quickly at the poles and more slowly at the equator. The difference is however incredibly miniscule.
  14. Politics in Thailand seems to have better scriptwriters than most of Hollywood nowadays.
  15. A simple equation: Thais + nuclear power = DISASTER
  16. Absolutely, but the impact on one's organs is not limited to PrEP, indeed what I wrote was: "I suggest to explore with your doc what is the likely impact on your organs (kidneys, liver etc.) of any pharmaceuticals that you choose to use frequently." It is more likely that people taking PrEP will have their kidney function monitored, but those taking other meds may not be effectively monitored, especially those who self-prescribe.
  17. Agreed, but it's very easy to obtain pharmaceuticals without visiting a doctor so many don't bother.
  18. A heads-up guys: From what I read on here I understand that a number of people do not use condoms and use various pharmaceuticals as an alternative safety measure. I have done the same for many years and it has worked well for me, but was recently informed by my doctor that this was impacting my kidney function. Her words were that "PrEP is hard on the kidneys". For occasional use an issue is less likely, but I suggest to explore with your doc what is the likely impact on your organs (kidneys, liver etc.) of any pharmaceuticals that you choose to use frequently. Stay safe all.
  19. Is there ever anything other than nonsense on this forum?
  20. An American Jewish Princess was on her way out to lunch and was standing outside her apartment building waiting for the doorman to find a cab. A schnorrer comes up and says "Hey lady, I haven't eaten in 3 days!" "So force yourself!"
  21. An elderly Jewish gentleman was crossing the road (after finishing his soup from the earlier joke) and was unfortunately hit by a cab and was lying injured in the road. Someone calls 911 and an ambulance is on its way. Whilst waiting a lady takes off her jacket, folds it, and puts under the mans head. "How is that?" she asks him, "Are you comfortable?" his reply "I make a living..."
