  1. Not too unbelievable. It's just that Thailand has a preference for American TV over Thai TV
  2. If there is no license then there will be no insurance. Glad I don't bump into any of them and probably thousands of others too.
  3. Clean the sensor window of the ac unit inside and out and the sensor for that matter, Dust isn't restricted to the just the filters.
  4. That's an interesting arrangement. Assuming your'e in Thailand, how does that work with immigration requirements. Which bank did this for you. My bank is Krungsri and they will require court authority before my wife can access my account.
  5. Hope all works out well for you and yours.
  6. A gov. dentist works for the government hospital. To find him/her, go to your local government hospital and find the dental department. If your'e not already registered, you will need to do that first. There may also be a local dentist training centre near you which will have a patient treatment facility. The dentists who work in the government hospitals frequently also have a private practice which operates out of hospital hours.
  7. There's a joke in there somewhere involving a mother-in-law. ????
  8. Second hand toilet paper too?
  9. I wish, but not a chance.
  10. It felt like an implant too.
  11. Wrong. Gov. dentists most certainly do treat foreigners. I'm not sure about crows either ????
  12. The cost was split between the three visits. First to dig out what was left of the old tooth. Second to screw in the post. Third to fit the crown which I elected to be acrylic. If I had gone for ceramic the cost would have been several thousand more (can't remember exactly). The location of the gov. dentist is opposite the central police station in Buriram. I was recommended to go there because my local gov. hospital dentist did not have the training for this procedure.
  13. Ridiculous sums of money and certainly not cheap. Price for foreigner is about 6k for a crown in gov. dentist.
  14. From reading some of the recent comments regarding BMS and chargers, please note the following: 1) The battery charger will charge a battery up to a pre-selected level. It is this which determines the maximum state of charge of the battery. It will also begin the charging process if the battery voltage gets to the minimum voltage setting of the charger. 2) The BMS is a switch (if you like) which will disconnect the battery if the charger tries to exceed the maximum safe voltage of the battery. It will also disconnect the battery if, during discharge, the battery voltage gets to the minimum safe voltage of the battery. Both of the above can be caused by some cells being better/worse than others. The BMS will try to balance all the cells by transferring charge from the better charged cells to the lesser charged cells. Apart from this the level of charge is not controlled by the BMS but by the charger.
  15. Many years ago there was an attempt to make a commercially viable sodium ion battery but at that time there was not enough financial interest in the technology and it fell by the wayside. It seems that is about to change. https://www.pv-magazine.com/2022/03/26/the-weekend-read-sodium-ion-batteries-go-mainstream/ Hopefully by the time I need to replace my lead acid Gel batteries these will be available with a good enough price/performance comparison with lithium. I was looking forward to the introduction of the solid state lithium batteries but sodium should be a less costly solution with more environmentally friendly materials and production.
  16. Or whatever is to hand at Trynottodo Thaiwatsadu
  17. HDPE pipe colours https://www.acu-tech.com.au/about-us/pipe-colours/
  18. Another police scheme to make money methinks. Police will be out there in plain clothes with cameras at the ready looking to film violations and then get paid.
  19. Agree with @Crossy There is an abundance of RCBO's out there and I have only ever seen either 30ma or the adjustable, up to 30ma, ones. There are also plenty of individual circuit RCBO devices which can fit in place of an MCB. Not cheap but a very useful idea.
  20. Not to worry I expect she has enough money in the bank. Her concerns seem to be that she now has nothing to occupy her time.
  21. Take a look at the spec. and in particular the weight of the respective panels. Then ask yourself how many big strong helpers you have available. Bigger wattage panels should take a bit less space but will need more manpower to mount.
  22. You might be screwed for the foreseeable future, but not me. I'm not Thai. ????
