  1. I found this article on the internet a long time ago.

Then for some reason I have stumbled on it over and over again.

Thought I would let you know about it guys..all of you who are into riding like myself and cannot stay away

from that wicked thing on two wheels that is so much fun but also so dangerous.

Everyday I go out and hit the roads I watch thai drivers on motorbikes and no offense towards them but

I always do the opposite of what they do and the way they drive.

Dont even get me started on this one but we all know well what I am talking about.

As an example they never wear a helmet. Me, call me crazy but I never drive without my full face.

    http://www.msgroup.org/tip.aspx?num=170

It doesnt matter that these are US statistics. .I do believe the case is even worse here

Ride safe guys, its a world of fun..but dont be reckless and take care

  2. I have just tried my SGS 3 on a friends fresh install of Linux mint 15, and no joy.

A search on Google for Linux Mint and MTP brings up a lot of links, and this one is from one of my favourite sites.

I hope it solves your problem.  As for my own installation I have installed and uninstalled so many test items it is now time for a fresh install so just because it works for me does not mean it works out of the box, but I understand it should.

    Edit extra link added

If it does not work for you out of the box here is another possible solution

I opened a root console, followed the instructions given in the articles you linked..and the magic happened right after. Now it works!

    Thanks!

  3. Politicians are mostly post turtles

When you are driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top of it; that’s a post turtle.

You know he didn’t get there by himself

    He doesn’t belong up there

He doesn’t know what to do while he’s up there

He is elevated above his ability to function

And you just have to wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with

Wish i could like this on a daily basis as its so true.

  4. Thailand previously had that first buyer car scheme, tricking people into something that they knew would not work.

Then when it comes to public transportation, thats all about money as well. They want to raise the prices but when it comes to service and their standards are a joke.

Despite that, the gov always finds a way to further drive prices up.

I really like this country but it is sad to see, that the gov is slowly tearing it apart.

  5. From my experience Dtac is a good and reliable operator, i could recommend it.

If price is not an issue, then i would go for either the 3Gb package which costs 650thb for a month or the 5Gb package and that is 890thb per month.

The official speed is up to 42Mbps so if you are going to stay downtown, you cant miss with Dtac.

    Good luck

  6. Switzerland is a beautiful country but no doubt they found a wicked way to emerge. I tend to think that they initially didn't want it to turn out this way but its kind of an aftermath.

A long long time ago Switzerland was nothing but a small country surrounded by mountains and covered by loads of snow all year.

So they had to come up with an idea to survive and succeed..and there you have the most elusive banking system this world has ever seen.

But I dont think that this it what they wanted to achieve: attract people with ill gotten fortune. It was just inevitable.

By the way the article was about the incident of Oprah..the country just got a brief introduction in the beginning.

And when it comes to Oprah I dont know what she is worried about.

She should have learned to ignore low life creatures like that shop employee a long time ago.

  7. There are no Samsung drivers / add-ons for Linux required.\

You do not state what version or kernel of Linux you are using.

In the past 2 years or so, Samsung (and other) mobile phones have changed from connecting to a PC using the USB Disk Drive protocol, to using MTP (Media Transfer Protocol. introduced by Microsoft. (Does that answer your question smile.png )

Linux kernel support for MTP has been poor but is slowly improving, but is still by no means perfect. For example if you are using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS MTP support is probably not installed as default.

As of Ubuntu 13.04 with the latest kernel updates, when I attach my SGS 3, the phone opens up a window and I can browse both the phone and the memory card. From there I can view and copy files in either direction. However I cannot open files that are on the phone / memory card (e.g. Photos) via the PC without first copying them to the PC.

Personally at this time I find using a Wi-Fi connection with an app such as Air-Droid or Kies Air installed on the phone much easier and better to manage files between the phone and the PC.

The only time I connect my phone by USB to the PC so I can work on it is when I need to use that Awful Kies programme, which fortunately is now very rarely since most updates are OTA (Over The Air).

Note I cannot get Kies to run under Ubuntu using either Wine or Virtual box / VMWare and it is the sole reason I have a dual boot system.

As for the problem with Firefox, I have never experienced that on a recent phone. It has all the hall marks of the Thai font not being installed / supported, but whether that is a phone or a Firefox issue I am not sure. Have you tired another browser? I strongly recommend Dolphin Browser. Although I am a firefox user on the desktop, on the phone I believe Dolphin is far superior.

    Hope this helps

Thank you for your answer, very helpful indeed. it did give me some clues about the problem.

I use Linux mint 14 and I am about to upgrade it as a newer version of this distro just got released.

I have never experienced the lack of displaying thai characters with any other browser, its a strange issue.

    Nice day

  8. Totally agreed.

Streetfood is absolutely unhealthy and unnecessary. I know that the people who eat it they do so because its cheap but i would rather buy oatmeal that doesnt even need to be cooked and cook my own chicken or whatever choice of meat. Or some canned stuff.

Thats still healthier and would not cost more.

  9. Man I have been trying to figure this monk out.

How he did what he did. The guy stacked so much money and became so wealthy in a matter of years that even crooks dont achieve in a lifetime.

Sure I read about the allegations that he did this and that to make money in shady ways but if one heard about the details of his story then its clear that he was into something much bigger than what the newspapers reveal.

Luxurious mansions and Maybachs under his name, cheques issued by US banks under his name with huge amounts on them that can be cashed any time and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

    That's game ain't it.

  10. I played around with a colleagues SGS4 today - firmware was updated last night - and had no issues with Chrome. Can you de-install it, then re-install it? Maybe stop all other apps. Do you have enough memory available? I searched XDA and didn't see a lot of threads re: FCs with Chrome.

Chrome (on Android) used to blow, but this (current) version seems to be pretty good. Still wouldn't use it - Dolphin is just too good - but still better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Dolphin is indeed good....I use it on my Onda 9.7" tablet the great majority of the time...on my S4 I just use the standard Android browser and sometimes Chrome.

Both of you seem to stay away from Chrome and use other browsers. I would be curious why, because as far as i am concerned Chrome is a very good browser, and beats most of the competition to stone age.

  11. I have two questions - help me out tech-savvy folks, would you?

First whenever i connect my SGS4 to my laptop the Windows recognizes it, but Linux doesnt.

Its weird, coz Android is Linux based still, if i want to be able to use it with the computer, i am forced to use Windows.

Its not good because i dont like Windows, i use it when i really need to, and that happens when Linux doesnt want to display certain porn sites properly.

Of course my Windows is original, as no counterfeit is available in this country. crazy.gif.pagespeed.ce.dzDUUqYcHZ.gif

Any ideas related to the solution arewelcomeani.gif.pagespeed.ce.WEO6J5z5nm.g .

Secondly, The Ffox on my SGS4 doesnt display thai characters. I only see squares..nice ones tho but i would like to have them replaced with thai characters

    if possible.

    Thank you for your help

I cannot uninstall the Chrome as it was pre-installed by the manufacturer.

All i can do is install or uninstall the updates. Or disable Chrome, that actually helps when it gets me mad i just disable it and calm down afterwards

when there is no Chrome is sight.

I did a lot of research on it as well - including XDA, didnt really see anybody with this problem.

I have noticed that it tends to Fc when a lot of tabs are opened.

Most of my memory is available by the way, but even it if it wasnt i dont think it should pose a problem because i use Ffox as well, which is more memory consuming and requires more space too, but that one works like a charm.

  13. Dave2 from the Chiang Mai forum brought this to my attention though seems to have been around a couple of years.  The photos below supplied by Dave2 show the road show in Chiang Mai.  So, what do you think - will it help or will people be too afraid of the dark forces to use it?

When first heard about it I thought cool, we are going to have spots set up all over the the city, giving us a chance to bribe authorities.

But then they talk about tracking my bribes online?

    Whats happening to the world?

  14. I live in a generally well to do area now, but there are 3 "shacks" who seem to be squatting on the land they are on. All the dogs in the neighborhood are well behaved, each house having one or two, except those belonging to the squatters. Not only do they have no less than 50 dogs, but they turn them loose on the streets to terrorize everyone in the neighborhood, ripping through garbage, crapping everywhere, howling 24/7, and chasing every bike that drives by, and every person walking by.

Today I go out and there are a handful of little newborn puppies running around in front of one of the shacks, and I'm thinking, what is wrong with these people? This is the 3rd place I've lived in Thailand were the poorest in the area had all the dogs from hell. These people literally live in shacks and look like they belong in a refugee camp, but they raise packs of street dogs and let them breed. I don't get it. My Thai partner says it's a karma thing, but I don't buy that. All the other Thais around us only have one or two dogs at most.

Assuming there is a real reason other than they are pet hoarders, does anyone know why those who can hardly feed themselves always have an army of wild dogs?

Without any disrespect intended towards them, poor people tend to have a poor mindset by all means which makes them irresponsible individuals in general.

More dogs but dont have the means to feed them.

More kids but dont have the stability to raise them well etc...

    Some people are just hopeless.
