  1. It happened to me. I took another phone, put the SIM card in it that I registered with and opened line. On the login screen it asked for phone number verification, I entered the number, got a verification code, sent it. Got logged in on that device. And this deleted all line data on the previous device.

Perhaps someone could confirm but I was told that police would need a warrant naming the person in question, in order to carry out a urine test. I remember this was big news a while back when they stopped people in the street in BKK.

Also could be a big problem if you are on some sorts of antibiotics, painkillers etc.

They need a warrant but people don't know their rights so the cops don't care about the warrant.

I don't know what was the problem with the urine test. People complained about it. I think it was fun. When I was stopped in bkk, I took my d@"$ out and told them that that's what they told me to do. They insisted on me giving a sample there and not back at the cop shop, so I obliged. But then they got mad and sent me on my way. They also called me a buffalo, but I dunno why. I am a law abiding citizen. I was asked to pee.

  3. The Chinese tourists <deleted>. It's interesting because the same cannot be said about Chinese people in general. I've been to China several times and have friends from there. They are some of the coolest and most intelligent people I've ever met. It is only these low life degenerate individuals that accidentally tend to be backpackers, that act in ways that make even dogs feel sorry for them.

My body tells me I should live on a diet of chocolate cake, crisps, braised belly pork and whisky.  Do you think I should be listening to it?

Of course the body can't be trusted.  Tastes developed in an evolutionary period when, for instance, sugar and salt were rare.  Foods available today are very different from those of our evolutionary forebears, and our body's natural desires simply can't be trusted.  So, of course listening to one's body is "woo".

Of course the body can be trusted! it's your mind that tells you to eat chocolate etc because it tastes good. your body will never tell you that. if you don't know what you are talking about then educate yourself and come back later.

Colonel Mustard in the Library with a candlestick !

The burning question would be, if he did take too many pain killers, did he know he was taking them ?

It is quite possible that he did indeed take too many (perhaps washing them down with a favourite beverage despite the usual warnings to not consume alcohol and prescription medications at the same time). Wouldn't be the first time someone ignored the directions and thought "well, if 2 are OK then I can probably take 4 and they are probably just playing it safe with the no alcohol warning so a couple of beers (or shots of whiskey) are probably OK too".

Of course it is also possible that maybe he didn't know he was taking them as they were being fed to him (in food and/or drink) without him realizing it.

At this point in time however I think Col Mustard has to definitely be considered because "why not" ? We don't know enough to determine what really happened so why not go with the long shot ?

no he probably didn't know he was taking painkillers. He thought he was eating chips.

Listen to your body isn't science, it's woo.....for most rational people. You can do many things about your diet and you'll still feel better. It takes physiological evidence to put one on the right track. Maybe I don't have the ability to hear my body, but I know how to try something and see how my body reacts to it.

I choose nothing more hardcore than reducing calories from carbs and increasing calories from fatty foods, with protein and veggies/fruit controlled to reasonable levels.

I find the science behind this makes it credible and a good way of controlling blood glucose, insulin levels and fat deposition. Exercise and training on top of this is beneficial, of course.

The thing is: the low fat paradigm is debunked.

This isn't a fad. It's the real thing. The science is there, despite what some have said in this thread.

High carbs....put in processed food to replace the taste/satisfied feelings lost by reducing fat....lead to spiking insulin levels and ultimately insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes.

High carbs also lead to increases in the type of cholesterol which is the main cause of heart problems related to diet.

An LCHF diet is the way to go, for health and fitness.

I think we're on the same track. I largely agree with what you say.

lol. listening to your body is not woo. It's just how it works. The body is the most sophisticated system ever created.

Don't you think that paying attention to its needs is a bit more than woo? LMFAO.

  7. It may work. It may not. Everything is individualized! One of the posters mentioned above that he was on a keto diet for years then switched to high carb and lost quite a bit of weight easily. That's about keto. I train every day and experimented with everything under the sun. They say high carb is a must if you train regularly. Not true. On a high fat diet I was equally strong and big. They say a lot of protein is a must. Not true. I was equally strong and big when I cut my protein intake in half instead of consuming obscene amounts of it.

What you need to listen to is your body, not something that you read on the internet.

These days everyone knows everything but most people are still out of shape, unhappy and broke.

Your body already knows what it needs. Pay attention to how you feel after you eat the food. If it feels good it is beneficial. If it feels bad then it works against you. But very important, it's not about how it tastes! It's about how the body feels.

The global image of the US was at 64% favorable after the end of Obama's term.  Way down now.  But still at 49%.  So some must still have a positive image of the US.  And a still a long way to plunge if Trump keeps up his antics.

  9. I travel a lot and stay at different hotels all the time. I prefer the expensive ones because I am cool. And I noticed that many of these upscale guesthouses such as Hilton, Marriott etc are constructed in such a way that I don't need to use the A/C. The whole building is covered in glass like for example the Hilton in Bkk, and one would assume that it's extremely hot inside the room but it's actually cool. The A/C is not turned on, but it feels like it is. I have noticed this abroad as well. They use some special material that doesn't allow the heat to penetrate.

Anybody knows what that is or what methods or material they use? I've never asked them.

And why is it that the usage of solar panels are not so widespread in Thailand? With all the heat these people have access to, they could collect enough energy to run all the strip clubs without spending a dime.
