  1. I hope the Thai motorcyclist makes a full recovery and the Merk driver's Daddy pays him full compensation!
  2. I first heard the band when I was in Thailand in 1983... the 'flute' on the intro of their song MADE IN THAILAND sort've reminded of Jethro Tull... and that song will always remind me of those early days in Thailand. I have a cassette and CD of that particular album. However, apart from the memories of that song/album, I began to think into the 90's that the band was too political, a sort've Thai version of Midnight Oil.
  3. Wear Slip-ons! Zipper and elastic..... no laces.
  4. Already have hundreds of Palestinian / Hamas supporters marching through Sydney last night. Police warned any Jewish people or their supporters to STAY OUT OF THE CITY! The world's gone mad!
  5. Just take a screenshot of the page with the relevant information. Crop it similar to A4 'portrait', Save it as a jpg. and send that.
  6. If you're talking about most of the other people's comments on this thread then we can give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you're exercising your extreme sarcasm.. OR, you've just got no common sense (much like anybody that would be silly enough to ride a bicycle on a Thai highway!
  7. Swim in shark infested waters, get bitten. The universe is trying to tell you something, best listen up. stupid comment NOT STUPID AT ALL! Common sense is the key word here. It's quite legal and logical(?) to walk along the Klong Toei waterfront at 2am with 50K Baht hanging out your back pocket... BUT YOU JUST DON'T DO IT. Cycling on Thai Highways and Roads = Deathwish.
  8. Give me a bottom bunk in a carriage with fans any day. I hide my bottle(s) of Red behind the curtain as I drink from a coffee cup. Also take on with me a small Tupperware container with cut up bread and cheese. I arrive the next morning a little worse for wear, but I've traveled from A to B and got a free night's accommodation. I always FLY back from Chiang Mai.

    The Irish Pub bakery?
  10. Did she not hear the recorded message - "..end of the walkway, erh erh erh!" ???
  11. I'm not stupid enough to blab my personal experiences on this Forum, and especially to you. I know that inmates are shackled mostly for disciplinary reasons (and not JUST in solitary confinement) as well as to and from Court appearances and medical appointments outside the walls.... all witnessed by the 'locals' in the towns as they go about their day to day business.
  12. I used to pull out the drawer from the wardrobe, turn it upside down and gaffer tape an envelope with a credit card and large denomination cash in it... I'd always leave my passport and flight tickets in the (2 keys reqd) reception safe. The old gaffer tape comes in handy! Sometimes the bedside cabinets have an enclosed space at the bottom between cupboard section and the floor .. a good hiding place. Just don't hide stuff when you bring a "friend" back to the room and you've had a lot to drink. On a tangent.. when I was staying in a hotel with my wife in Bangkok she wanted to turn the large cushions over that you sit on , that are on the lounge. she found a girl's ID card between the cushions .... Hotel room maids are 'big' on room presentation, but rarely give attention to detail unless they're working in a 4 star + hotel ????
  13. Our only choices here in Sydney for a DIRECT flight to Bangkok are THAI and QANTAS. I fly Business, and THAI is marginally better than QF. Since flights resumed post-covid you get the feeling that (whilst onboard the THAI flight) that they're 'trying' . QANTAS customer service is non existent, both on the ground AND in the sky. I wish Emirates would resume the Sydney -Bangkok route again..... until they do, I'll continue to fly THAI. QANTAS is overrated!
  14. I thought their existing planes (e.g. Sydney -Bangkok route) already had touch screens. I've used them!
  15. There is so much negativity out there on Audiophile websites regarding MQA. If you're using TIDAL you're better off using the lossless HI-FI option. If you're seeking "quality" sound from a streaming service, it all starts from the source, if your MQA version is from a crappy over compressed remaster, you're not getting what you think you're paying for! Nothing wrong with KEF speakers, I own a pair myself. I hope you have a DAC that is MQA ready. Also, not all titles are available in MQA. Go to the Steve Hoffman Audiophile website and in the top RH cnr, type MQA into the 'search' and read all the for's and against.
  16. No, what about the sloping moving walkways at Swampy that take you from Domestic Arrivals down to the taxi rank.
  17. I think we need a good steakhouse in Sukhothai! I'm yet to find a decent Eye Fillet or T-bone in this town cooked for me at a restaurant. Plenty of seafood eateries around plus the seafood in the normal Thai eateries. Muang Kaow is more touristy (by day) than downtown. Explore there first!
  18. There's nothing at all wrong with an attractive 70yo woman (for practice)... and it makes actually getting a 43yo that more rewarding.
  19. Crikey! 40 years ago I'd have to barter the taxi driver for the fare (no meters) and would agree on 110 Baht to go from the Honey in Sukhumvit 19 to Patpong. ... and the trip would take 1hr+. Now I can get to Silom from Sukhumvit in under 10 minutes using a few coins from my pocket. .... and the network just keeps growing. Here's hoping that the new Govt. will continue this infrastructure expansion.
  20. Mercenaries dying? Occupational hazard!
  21. Why not scrap the 300 Baht entry fee, and increase the *Visa exempt to 45 days again. They'll recoup the losses with the extra spending that occurs after the original *30 days.
  22. I wonder if the R.T.P. used A.I. to produce the V.D.O.????
  23. Most definitely using a reinforcing of that gauge would contribute to cracking.. especially if heavy vehicles or even a car use it. The other common problem that causes cracking and subsidence is they don't compress the base material whether it be clay, roadbase, sandy soil etc. Also the lack of separate slabbing with expansion joints in between... the crack can increase instead of being confined to the 1 slab section. On our farm, the concrete pathway between house and side wall (8ft wide) sunk at a 10 degree angle because the base was never compressed... and being very high in clay, it contracts (shrinks) during the dry/cool season. Luckily it's sloping now towards the wall, and not the house.
