would a golf car not be 1000x safer than a motosay ride ?

That's right, they are much slower and more stable than a bike ridden by somebody who hasn't got a bike licence or ridden one for 30 years. I did think of buying one in Pattaya but as I live in a condo charging it would be a problem. I bought a little 3-wheeled electric scooter instead. I can take the battery out and take it upstairs to change it. Whether it would be legal or not didn't cross my mind.

  2. I went to Villa this morning and bought two. They were 900g. each.

So much for Villa's accuracy in describing them. Mind you, they are more of the size I actually wanted when I started looking. One of them is sitting in a pale of water to defrost and I'm going to roast it later.

The baby chickens have been available on my Villa App since you posted (at the Avenue). As said before they are only 149 baht not 170 like you posted and I just checked and there's about 30 in freezer opposite the deli counter.

These come in a clear plastic bag with no marketing packaging like big companies do...up to you but I won't be buying any lol

Thanks. I looked in the freezer but it didn't click on what I was seeing. I will pop in there tomorrow.

  4. I want to cook small chickens, not the 1.5-kilo ones that most supermarkets sell.

I seemed to remember the Villa had them on their website, so I checked. Yep, there they were 300g 170Baht and in stock. So I went to Villa today and found the 1.5kilo ones, could I find the 300g ones NO.  Asked the staff at the meat counter and they had no idea what I was talking about I don't mind them being out of stock but it does piss me off to get there only to find the information on their website is wrong.

So does anybody know where I could buy these baby chickens?

  5. My PC needs some work on it. It's running so slow it's ridiculous. Sometimes it just comes out of a page when I'm trying to do something else. The trouble is I have no idea what to do. I use Glary's (Free edition) but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there a computer expert in Pattaya who would come to my condo and sort it out? Obviously, I can't pay them (if they're an expat) but I can pay their expenses.

Or, is there a shop in Pattaya which if I take it there can sort out all the problems? I don't mean TUK.com. I bought my PC at Liberty Computers and they used to sort out my problems but they don't seem to operate the same way anymore. There was a shop near Big C that did home visits but that closed years ago.

I'm deaf (hearing aids) and would much prefer somebody at home who speaks English to explain to me what's what.

I know at some stage I will have to upgrade to 11 but my system doesn't meet the requirements so I need some advice on that as well.

  6. Last week had a problem and HD Prime said to sign in with .com instead of .me. Afterwards worked fine. 1 o'clock this morning signed out from my PC after watching the cricket on HD Prime.  9.30 this morning tried to sign in account was blocked.

I used to pay monthly (at 7/11) but sometimes had a problem sending the money so I paid for a year. I'm regretting it now. I still have 6 months to run.

  7. Since typing that I have been looking at seat charges at EVA. $60 each way. So that takes the gap back to 10,000 Baht again, It seems I can't win.

Of all the flights I have had over the years (albeit the last one was 10 years ago), I have always had an aisle seat. At my age now with a weak bladder and the need to stretch a few times, I need an Aisle seat. As this is probably going to be my last trip to the UK (and my last flights) I was hoping that it would all be plain sailing. No such luck.

  8. Thanks to all of you who replied.

As I will be staying with various family members who have their plans for the summer I am waiting for their decision on the best time to come to fit in with everybody.

Because of this, I am still looking for flights. My original thought was July into August but that's out.

The more I looked the harder it came to find the cheapest. The gap between CE and EVA is sometimes only 4.000 Baht. If that ends up it will be EVA and not CE. I'm not tight but 10,000 is too much but 4,000 is acceptable.

  9. I am not sure where to post this so If a moderator wants to move it be my guest.

I will be flying to the UK (Heathrow) later in the year and the prices have jumped considerably. EVA 43,000, Thai 62,000. So I started searching. China Eastern doesn't look too bad considering it's 10,000 Baht cheaper. My only concern is the procedure in Shanghai. Will I be a Transit passenger with my luggage checked all the way through or will I have to go through customs with my luggage and then check in again? Has anybody flown with China Eastern to London recently?

If it's the Customs route how long did it take and was there enough time to do it comfortably?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    PS Do they serve alcohol?

  10. I drove 300,000 miles in my last job before coming here. I had 3 accidents, each one caused by people who drove into me from behind. The cause every time was the same, not drunk just not paying enough attention to one of the most dangerous things we do. Of course, I'm ignoring the most dangerous place of all. The Kitchen.

You don't seem to be the brightest candle, kill the street dogs and possibly all the snakes too, is the opposite; the rats are multiplying uncontrollably....do you understand this.....I think not really:cheesy:

I can remember a TV programme on British TV years ago. They showed a village in Thailand that was catching snakes and selling them. The only problem was that the snakes kept the rat population down. They were being overrun by rats.

  12. Sorry, feeling a bit thick, I understand printing a 12-month statement at home and taking it to the bank. They then give you 2 letters to take to immigration, What two letters? One is obviously a balance on that day what's the other one, and what happens to the 12-month statement do you still take that to Immigration?

And does it work at Jomtein Immigration? Every time I go there there is always something I'm short of.

    Thanks
