Been hearing the same doom & gloom for over 20 yrs.  For me it's actually gotten easier to stay.

Only people need to worry, are the ones using agents, because they can meet the requirements to stay.

When the Embassy stopped issuing 'income letters', that made more than a few leave, as could no longer BS Imm w/the phony income numbers.  Not Imm change, but an Embassies change.

Imm hasn't changed much of anything in 20+ yrs, just applied the rules they use to be a bit lax on.  Only because of the scammers getting caught, so now tend to verify everything, a bit redundant at times.

The one thing Immigration did change was the requirement for 65,000 baht a month. Before it was 65,000 a month or 780,000 Baht a year.

Now it's at least 65,000 Baht a month. Not 60,000 this month and 70,000 next month. I'm worried that a mistake on my part (0r the banks) could result in one month with a low payment which would invalidate my visa. Even though I transfer over 1,000,000 Baht a year.

  2. Coffee snobs, wine snobs much of a muchness. Their way of making and drinking is the only way. Everything else is wrong.

I like cheap wine (normally called (wrongly in my opinion) fruit wine and instant coffee. That's not to say I don't like a more expensive wine on occasion (a good Barolo is my favorite, but far  too expensive to drink everyday) and a nice cup of freshly brewed coffee. They should just let people drink what they like and stop criticiising.

  3. I don't know if they are legal or not but I use HD Prime to watch (mainly) Sky and Eurosport with some BBC and ITV as well. It's not perfect but for the price I think it's good value'

Lazada has quite a choice of instant decaf.

But as I have zero knowledge about prices I can't tell what is cheap.

The local "Moccona Blue" was OK as a grounded coffee until it vanished from the shelves.

    Moccona Instant decaf 100gr 299 B.

That had gone up to 321 Baht the other day.

I had a favorite bread shop on Soi Buakhao but I'm sure there's a witch working there, such a nasty woman.

So, I tried the whole wheat bread from Makro.

OMG, it's sweetened, I can taste the sugar.
These idiots, putting sugar in whole wheat/wholegrain bread, it really ticks me OFF.

Anyone else tasting the sweetened bread

The shop is Harry's Bakers, there is another on Thappaya Road just after the Thepprasit junction (10 yards).  It's on the baht bus route to Jomtien. It has the normal range and the staff are very nice.

I don't find any of their breads sweet and I vary between their Sourdough and Whole Bread. with an occasional Baguette. If you get to The Continental you have gone too far.
