  1. I'm guessing none of this gentleman's family went to a foreign school right? don't drive foreign cars? watch foreign TVs, let alone get foreign medical care? clothes, computers? and all that jazz?

nationalism is, actually, what destroys nations - we need a more inclusive world not exclusive. This "I am Thai" nationalistic arrogance does not help this country as much as "I am American" or "I am French" so what? our poo all smells the same

Ah the old colonial attitude of if it wasn't for us they would still swinging in the tree's line !

The truth is always in the middle... Sure khun Pathonpong is on the ather edge...

And I don't see in binjalin post anything wrong, he only spoke about him and his family, nothing arrogant toward all Thais.

And binjalin made a good point: All ultra nationalism is dangerous, not only Thai ultranationalism.

  2. He's a vet. Wow. Should I bow to his superiority because he went to chula? Wooooo. He must be weely weely smart..

    What got up his nose?

While the TVF "red-shirt farangs" remain anonymous, I recall those identified and deported in 2010. Relatively speaking, he most certainly is really smart.

He also happens to be engaged in an occupation for which I have a lot of respect.

Red shirt farangs? Anonymous? What are you talking about buddy?

And which respect you can have on someone put some similar rant on the net?

Please note that he hates all "farangs", no distinctions, so you are included...

    Merry Xmas...

Please note your assumption is not supported by the given facts.

Anonymous; it means we have no idea who is posting here, though some do with a bias to a corrupt regime and a willingness to accept Thaksinist propaganda combined with a simplistic 1 man-1 vote policy which over-rides all other facets of democracy.

And it doesn't surprise or dismay me at all that some Thais may disapprove, not so much of TVF, but when they appear at red shirt rallies and protests.

Do you have some numbers of foreigners involved in Red Shirt protests?

Do you think the hatred against foreigners is because of that?

  4. You just say that you are supporting yourself. Then if they want proof show some form of proof that you have funds coming into the country from abroad. The best proof would be a Thai bank book showing transfers in.

This is going to really hurt a lot of English Teachers that have been using the ED visa while they teach.

The only income they have is teaching but they are not going to be able to show it.

This is also going to mean more work for Embassies as they are going to have to verify the income much like they do for us younger folk.

Should be interesting to see how this works out.

I agree though with all the abuse it is about time they did something to resolve the abuse.

If you have an ED Visa, you cannot work. So teachers, must get a Visa accordingly to the reason they stay in Thailand, that clearly is NOT an ED Visa.

  5. I've just watched the Child's Play pentology with my girlfriend, as these are her favourite farang movies (I got an intellectual one).

According to Chucky, violins are bad, not violence.

As long as you're happy with it, enjoy violence then...

World is nice because people can have different opinions, so your comment was welcome... As long as we respect each other.

Just for the record, I am all for mutual respect, and a fictional killer doll doesn't really influence my views. I was just trying to create some levity.

Lol, sometimes I miss the irony or the humor in posts... That's the bad point to not be a English born speaking, I guess.

My bad if I misunderstand your post then...

    Cheers!

  6. Violence is always wrong, by both sides... Whoever did it, sure didn't help the cause.

  7. Hopefully all the guilty murderers will serve jail terms enough to see the jail walls collapse for their age.

A little funny thing: when protests begun some poster said, the majority wants this government out, government does not have any support anymore because no one shows support on the streets for them.

Then they came to Bangkok, and... someone else condemned them to come to build problems...

I am sure not me, not any other poster here has any right to say when someone can or cannot come to Bangkok to protest. Civil protests are a right for everyone.

Pity that in the Ramkhamhaeng clashes, both groups showed to be composed by thugs, lowlife people, and both sides did not make anything to avoid what happened. It could have been much worse, if brilliant minds like Jatuporn, Suthep and the rector of Ramkhamhaeng University would have continued to play like playschool children accusing each other and let their supporters killing each other.

  8. The numbers are way down. On both sides. The dems are frightening the majority with autocratic rule. The Shins have disappointed everyone, including their own constituents.

A contract seems like a good idea, if people sign it and are legally bound to adhere.

The devil is in the details. I for one hope they solve this with all concerned having a say in policy. Both sides are very far from the Middle Way that the Lord Buddha espoused. The see saw is broken, and it seems neither side wants balance.

Stop this stonewalling, please. People are going to get hurt if you cannot compromise.

This is one of the most balanced and with most common sense posts I read in last two months here.

Compromise is the only way to go out of this situation, and serious commitment to make reforms to make everyone in Thailand have same rights, and make democracy works at its best. Not democrazy like it is now.

Hatred and threats (by both sides) just make the country goes one step toward the abyss...

    My kudos to you.

  9. Thailand needs some reasonable, level headed people to be part of this reform process, Suthep and his bloodthirsty zombie sheep are the most unbalanced segment of Thai political society, they should be banned from any politcal contribution until they can calm down and behave like adults.

I have quite a few friends attending the current protests. They are not fans of Suthep, but want changes. And they are hardly bloodthirsty nor zombie sheep.

I guess Moonao was referring to leaders of protest and security/extremist thugs participating at protests. Sure the majority is just tired of the actual situation and protest in opportune way.

But the hatred, the strong words, the verbal violence and the absurd requests of Suthep, sure don't help the movement.

I myself, agree with the general motives of protests, but totally against Suthep's Inc. ways.

  10. So sorry for Abhisit and Korn, I would like to see someone with modern ideas and with skill for reform Thai politics, but IMHO they should not side with that fanatic S.

I hope reason will prevail and reforms will be done (not from PTP, because they will never do), but I feel like a chance have been lost already when Abhisit was PM... Now will be so hard, too hard,

  11. ^ i think abhisit and korn (and any other reasonable people among the democrats) should consider making a fresh start away from all the robber barons and other various shysters

this is 2013 and with the power of the media (especially social media) it wouldn't take long to establish themselves if they offer what the majority of thai people really want (albeit subconsciously)... i.e. a modern positive forward-looking and non-divisive democratic government with sensible economic policies to achieve equity for all thais (regardless of shirt colour)

I totally agree with you. This country and these times, need balanced people that can make reforms for avoid that game of power like this we are watching now and these we watched in last 7 years will go on.

Abhisit and Korn are respectable and with a good background for do that, as long they are not mixed with Benito wannabes.

If they can cut their relationship with who doesn't need the good for Thailand but for themselves, they are a good base to begin with.

  12. I would still like to know how Cartalucci's opinion is truth and wisdom, and Nostitz's one was considered red propaganda.

If we still have some balance we would say they are the two paladin's of two sides. Both of them based in Bangkok, both of them biased in the opposite direction. Nothing more than that.

It's not Cartalucci's opinion, it's the facts and the links he provides which actually back up what he says. Follow the links and read it. Or post the counter argument if you think he is making stories up.

If you like, you can search my previous posts, have plenty of facts and links that proves he is just doing the dirty job as the other biased press do in this country.

By the way, I am not telling he is wrong, but as in all biased articles, he shows only a face of the medal, and never got to write anything against Suthep.

    From here my comment...

Telling he is biased is different to tell he is a liar.

  13. the news is, this article is from "Tue Dec 3, 2013 6:21PM GMT".

it comes from the iranian government news agency based in tehran - the bastion of democracy.

thanx very much for heads up, editors, and for my lost time

Nonsense ! The fact that it comes from an Iranian website is irrelevant. It comes from a journalist based in Bangkok and reiterates what the same journalist said on the Landgrabber website. This is the truth from someone who lives here, not some nonce thousands of miles away who can't be bothered to research the facts. It is a very knowledgable and well written article that I believe to be the truth. Keep it up Tony !

  14. Tony Cartalucci ??? Who is thsi? A friend of Silvio Berlusconi? Too much alcohol already? Or just to near to Suthep??

Tony Cartalucci is nothing more than the yellow counterpart of the German journalist and photographer that was lynched for weeks on this forum (Nick Nostitz)...

There are lots of articles on the net where you can clearly see his bias smile.png

  15. This is doing my head in now.

It changes every bloody couple of hours, they are off, they are on, they are off again.

Get this bunch out and replaced with someone that knows what the hell they want.

This makes Thailand look a joke to the entire world.

Wouldn't it make sense to get rid of the whole lot of corrupt Shizens and re start with people like Korn. No families from any side involved, especially running the job from abroad.

I agree... If only would be possible a reform where any subject involved in corruption or abuse of power would be excluded by politics on a life term, would be a great thing...

But sincerely, I think even my kids in their life will not see that. Sadly.

  16. This article and several of the responses are simply typical of the mentality that pervades this country. Politics create the environment that we all have to co-exist in and Yingluck's son is no different than any other son in this country. However he does represent the fruit of the poisoned tree which is a condition the Shiniwatra's have brought down on their own head through the years of political malfeasance , outright corruption and their masquerade of omnipotence. It is a fact of life that children will always have to bear to some extent as to the actions of their parents .

I see no threat of any consequence being made to this over privileged little lad only that owing to the actions of his parents and her entourage that his environment may well have to change.

For you and all the others that commented:

If you do something wrong at job, and your boss argue at a meeting that if you do that again, your son will have to fell hungry because his dad will be sacked, how you will feel?

For God sake. Put a boy in a freaking political context is a total distortion and out of context.

Then if for you all it's good, no problem. Maybe I am the one that think it was unfair, and totally disgusting. I will keep my idea.
