  1. Can this guy say and do whatever he wants or is the government/military going to step in? Kidnap government officials, seriously?

A couple of days ago a red lunatic threatened to kidnap the 2 girls of the army chief "dead or alive".

Yesterday the reds put a 500,000B bounty on Suthep's head

    Ask yourself the same question

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

This guy is the leader of this party, the reds are not. If the PM said this, then you would have a leg to stand on.

That red leader writing threats on his FB page have to be prosecuted as now also Suthep has to be too.

Threating phisically member of government wasn't a smart move...

  2. Out of likes but I think you are spot on. I am getting so fed up of all the lies spread by the Sutheb haters as though they were facts.

Just because they were elected it doesn't make their crimes legal and just because you have a biased opinion against someone, it doesn't make it fact....

  3. I have no side in this. Only the one that benefits Thailand. But what is interesting is most of the red shirt protesters were being paid to attend. I've got many relatives who where there back in 2010, and all were paid to attend.

The current protesters are donating money to help "the cause". IMHO, a huge difference. Peaceful civil disobedience is a right of a democratic country.

That is actually interesting for me too. It is sure a sign that those people are tired of this government.

And yes civil disobedience is a right of any democratic country. But I don't believe such a lockdown would be allowed in any democratic country.

The problem is that Thailand is not really a much democratic country. Some even think that only 'winning elections' is enough to make a democratic country.

I cannot disagree sure. We cannot define Thai as a Democracy as we are habit too. Especially if prolonged lockdown of the city is admitted, and if Shinawatras are allowed to be still part of a Government, and if Suthep and Abhisit can slap face of voters, and hundreds reasons more ;)

  4. What media. I checked all the channels that had news all day yesterday and no mention of the protest, not even here in Thaivisa. I Even waked in the Ratchaprsong area and n sign of any news wan or camera or anything from the news people

I heard more about USA and Europe and other places than Thailand. it is a shameful act that people ae not informed of the situations

The article is talking about SOCIAL media...

And anyway Thaivisa was plenty of news yesterday, and I can see news on every main channel about protest.

Or you was being ironic, and I did not catch your fine irony, or we live in different countries :)

  5. "Those found guilty for such acts will face imprisonment of as many as five years."

Yeah right. Unless they are Suthep and the anti-gov protesters, they are above the Law and the Constitution. They can commit any crime they want. They have approval of the highest order and I aint gonna be the one to arrest them because that's way to high for my arse and I will only be risking my life. No thank you.

how do they know its protesters doing this and its just not a technical problem ?....if a person was going to mess with telecoms systems, they would knock them out completely, not decrease the "quality" of the signal, doesnt make sense....except to the red shirted members of TV, who see Suthep around every corner...

TV is became unreadable. Because all red, yellow, black, white make speculations and then insult each other.

Look at topics this morning. Who shoot this morning at bar? RED SHIRTS!

    Who disrupt signal? YELLOW SHIRTS!

    Grow up guys!

Depends what your definition of democracy is!

Please please, don't drag me inside a discussion about legitimacy about this government, because I wrote about it so much. You can do your research and read my previous posts.

Democracy is just one. However bad the government has done, there's no try to overthrow it buy indefinite lockdown of the Capital City.

And in the recent past, in Western countries, there are plenty of examples of wrongdone government but no coups or attented coups.

  8. I must admit the way we seem to react in Thaivisa about the things that are going on in our "guest" country, most of us are, as they called it long time ago, gone native,

We choose sides, red or yellow, and throw things around to each other that seem to me nearly like the people of Thailand are now doing.

I always presumed, being inhabitants of countries with a longer history of democracy, we grew above the use of incitements and throwing abuse at each other.

    I was mistaken.

    Kudos for you.

Too few respect for the others opinion, too much bullying and insulting.

I would like to give more contributes and opinions but I refrain myself to do it to avoid being attacked and bullied from the guys who knows it all.

Sad to note that hundred years of democracy and of civics development then are thrown away this way.

  9. seeks to overthrow the democratic principals of elections and government That's how you read: Reform before Elections?

Even though you wear Red glasses, I still hope you understand that reform is badly needed in this corrupt country. Or not needed as long as Thaksin is in charge?

Reform before Elections with a not elected council: seeks to overthrow the democratic principals of elections and government

Reforms are badly needed, but through a democratic process, not due to illegal occupation of public places and disruption of everyday activities.

I ask again, why Democrat did not make reforms back during their government? They had more than 2 years for do that. But they didn't.

Thaksin, Suthep, Chalerm, Abhisit. They all are liars, corrupt and opportunists. Thailand not need any of them.

The biggest liar is Yingluck. Have a look at the interview she gave with Aljazeera, especially the part that she had nothing to do with the amnesty bill.

why Democrat did not make reforms back during their government? Because they didn't try to give amnesty to themselves and the didn't make THB 800 BILLION disappear to name a few. You need more examples why reform is needed after 2.5 years of PT/Thaksin?

You are truly a newcomer. You see things isolated, ie without knowing the past.

Last sentence you could keep it... You judge me and not debate...

And you play who is more liar between YL and Abhisit or Suthep or Chalerm? All of them are danger for this country. Or Suthep and Abhisit are your heroes? Because if you are sided, I will avoid to reply to your posts and being bullied again :)

I know the past, I was here in 2010 (You will tell this in next post) AND I condemned Red Shirts protests back then.

    So? Who is the short-sighted?

  10. Seems Yingluck spoke to Ban, then Ban spoke to Abhisit and these conversations are in private. Abhisit's letter may be all we have to go on but it's content is pretty clear. Now it is public, let's wait a day and see if PT care to respond with their own letter addressing the arguments laid out in Abhisit's letter. I bet they won't...

Why would they bother. abhisit is an ex MP, he's not bothering to contest an election, his party and followers are supporting a movement (both financially and physically, including the BMA) that seeks to overthrow the democratic principals of elections and government. Why give him the oxygen of publicity?

  11. Maybe they are meeting to discuss the low turnout?

Who needs a big turnout when the police are doing NOTHING to stop it. I could get some boy scouts to do the same thing. The ploy is obvious - let it run it's course. They are hoping for a backlash from the public. They are hoping for unseen hands to carry out violence to put protesters off of protesting.

Take a look at the pics here. Hardly a low turnout:

    https://twitter.com/georgebkk

Besides they achieved the objective of disrupting normal activities, the turnout is far from 6,000,000 Suthep asked to come...

In any case, still things are pacific, let's pray will keep as that.

  12. Dear Mr Suthep, please answer me 1 question:

    - If you want reforms so badly, why did you not implement them while you were PM and Vice-PM with Abhisit for 3 years?

    Yours sincerely.

Perhaps at that point they didn't foresee Thaksins sister @ the helm, his cronies in key positions and Thailand on the verge of bankruptcy and the rice industry decimated.

Or perhaps he was too busy artificially inflating the value of palm oil shares so he and his family could make a killing on the stock market.

Oh, you didn't know about Suthep's dubious past? You might want to investigate it and decide how sincere he is about cleaning up politics before you post again.

By the same token, people should have even less trust in Thaksin & Co. to make genuine reforms.

So you might wan to take your own advice and investigate Thaksin's sorry history of dodgy deals and double dealings before you post again.

Suthep is widely regarded as the lesser of two evils.

If you have a cancer at your brain, and doctor as a solution tell you that can cut your head, would you be happy?
