Reading through the pages of this topic it amazes me how those red inclined can come to the conclusions they do.
For instance how can a coup possibly benefit Suphep ?
In case of a coup do you really believe the army would install him in any position of power ?
Not a chance, they would lock him up along with the shin gang, those who haden't fled the country.
A coup would start a war with the armed faction of the reds and here is only one person who could benefit from that, or thinks he could, by coming back as the great peacemaker and savior.
There would be a good chance those in the south would chime in as well leading to complete devastation throughout the country.
Suthep knows it, the army knows it and they have no intention of letting it happen. There is only one who wants it and he is well out of harms way.
How could it possibly benefit Suthep to arrange to have his own people shot at ?
He wants to get as many people out on street for the shutdown as possible, how can shootings that instill fear in those who may want to go, by making it dangerous to be there, achieve that ?
There is only one side that can benefit from a low turnout and they may think that trying to scare people off is the way to do it.
What is the point of having an election if it cant possibly achieve the result of a government being formed?
Only one answer, Yingluck step down and take some of her worst offenders with her, then take the EC advice and hold an election in May.
And in the interim get stuck into formulating reform plans.
I will not debate the beginning of your post because the possibilities are infinite.
But for your last Q/A.
RT@BPbreakingnews: PDRC: Election postponement pointless

Yeah ok I'm gonna seize a major city, capital of Thailand and disrupt the lives of millions of people but I don't want to see any violence. Yeah ok Suthep.......GET A LIFE !!!!!!!
They did it before. Learn your history
The reds, on the other hand....
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
So if there have been criminals disrupting other people lives one time, now your team have to score 1-1?
Fantastic,

I will suggest people to do their own csi.
Hahaha! RESPECT MY "
VOTE"TS!Ok thanks for your impartial pictures
Remember that everyone have right to protest, not just the side you like
As I believe the most of protesters that we saw since November are spontaneous and believe in their ideas. I see the same way also this protest. But you can turn it as it is convenient for your views.
Maybe you should prove that candle protesters are really paid by Thaksin, but let's pass on it.
End of discussion, at least by my side...
Let's hope tomorrow will not be a disaster.
I have never mentioned other people have no right to protest. Did i?
They of course have the right to vote for Thaksin.
When you ask me a question earlier, I have not answer to you directly.
I have expected your argument.
Maybe you should PROVE that candle protesters are really paid by Thaksin, but let's pass on it.
I would agree with you on the last part, let's hope tomorrow will not be a disaster.
It's getting more colorful as days goes by.
Red, yellow, black, White
You did reply me.
Not directly but quite explicitly.
Hahaha! RESPECT MY "VOTE"TS!By the way. I tend to respect everyone's opinion, as long as they will not become violent and disrupting other people life.
Living and working in Bangkok, next days will be really hard for me and every other people, Thai or foreigner, that will be influenced by this nonsense.

At last, real students doing what students throughout the World do - supporting the right to vote and defending democracy.
A change from those middle-aged thugs that Suthep passes off as "students", hell bent on fighting, shooting and looting, in between beating up taxi drivers, that is!
"Respect my vote" will be the slogan that saves Thailand from slipping down into the cesspit of fascism, Suthep style.
So it would be better to have the fascism of Thaksin if PTP had been able to rewrite the constitution their way! I guess we shall see how the students react come Monday, whether they will still be peaceful or not! Frankly some look too young to vote!
IMO, while the "Respect my vote" is a clever slogan to use, I feel it is aimed at the international community for political reasons. Why aren't the slogans in Thai, because PTP are desperately trying to prove they are democratic to the international community.
-
Is this the "white" group "RESPECT MY VOTE"?
haha...
Respect my vote in the name of....democracy?
Or in the name of...TS?
The poor lady in the video has no idea. She really thought they want election in the name of true democracy.
red=white
white=red
So you imply that Thaksin organized those candlelight protest?

How is that an interview???
Again: not a single question about the "what" and "how"!
Same "toilet paper" Thai journalism of every ordinary day. Nothing new, unluckily.

About the rice scheme this Government has only to blame itself. If the plain was not sustainable, is not credible to complain against EC because not approve a new loan. Enough is enough. they should take their responsibility and end this disgrace.
Sure if new election will take place on 2nd February, I see much less vote at the horizon for PTP...

Why the desire from so many to tear up the constitution? Just let politicians finish their terms please...
maybe it be because the constitution was written by Thaksin for Thaksin, hence he always win. he wrote the rules.
You are being sarcastic, I truly hope...

Those idiotic red shirt thugs are at it again.sigh. Those idiotic yellow shirt thugs are at it again.
Group of red shirts attack PDRC supporters inviting people to join rally

Seriously... I feel like being at a playschool class. Grow up guys...
Thugs are on BOTH SIDES! Who attacked first does not matter. BOTH are armed and dangerous.
To say that wrongdoing is only one side is just blind and factious.
Rather odd that your other previous posts don't reflect your last as well as that you didn't confront the first quote when it was made with your latest sentiments.
btw, the law does recognize that it does matter who initiates violence.
Rather odd that you don't understand how in the first post I was stating that someone was having itchy hands and wanting to write something against a faction and did not wait 10 minutes to read a post. Some people sided, got an orgasm reading about violence and did not lose time to write nonsense post.
If in your opinion who shoot guns is ok, good and saint, well we are good. I am not an idiot and I know about law. I am talking about common sense (something that I hope you have) and I was noticing that both factions have people wanting and provoking violence, NOT talking about law.

Why it's embarrassing? The Election Commission offered the way out of the current crisis by urging Yingluck's government to delay elections in order to stop violence and save lives. Absolutely logical and reasonable suggestion. Yingluck's government did exact opposite and pushed for further confrontation.
Do you think anything would have changed if election date would have been moved? Looking at Suthep requests, nothing would have changed imho.
You couldn't be more wrong. If the elections were scheduled for May 2014 or later the amnesty bill would be definitely killed off. Democrats would not have boycotted the elections and all other moderates who support Suthep at the moment would not have any single reason to continue supporting him. They know that the amnesty bill is not dead and buried. It takes 180 days. It is obvious that the puppet PM and her government were dishonest about their intentions hence continual political crisis.
Wait wait: so what you are saying is not only a postpone of election date, but also imply YS to step down from he caretaker role. That changes everything. But I would not expect that to happen.

Forget elections on 2. February, they never will stand the laws...And the most Thai dont want it, get it ...
no we don't 'get it' as most Thais WANT the election and a small group of morons are trying to shut down democracy with the Democratic Party (sic) falling into the trap and trundling along after Master Suthep like lapdogs
the EC are wavering around like straws in the wind - it's embarrassing

How can call him traitor? He just exercise his right to do civil disobedience. That anyway should bring him to immediate dismissal, given the incompatibility with government.
There's nothing so bad in the whole fact. Sure is a signal that Government is losing cohesion day after day.

Why are the signs in English, So Johnathon Head can read it I suspect, I it really surprises me how the BBC has become so one sided as Fox in the states, regardless of your opinion, if any on these shinagainas in Thailand.
It really highlights how the BBC is no longer a credible news source for anything. I used to kind of trust the BBC compared to the others.
Did you lost all the signs written in English by the anti-government supporters?
Everyone has the right to express opinion and protest, in the way they like as long as it's not violent and disrupting.

At this point we are receiving daily assurances from the PDRC that the protest will be peaceful, as well as daily counter-assurances from the Yingluck administration to prepare for violence. It is clear that the administration is far more threatened by the prospect of a peaceful protest than a violent one, which further underscores what appears to be the intent of the administration to confront the protesters. The preparations for the peaceful protest appear to be very detailed, as well as to take into account the ugly reality of the overnight sniper fire attacks on them. They clearly are not going to allow the people on the street - who it should be noted, are the people of Thailand - to be victims of vigilantism. The people who need protection are the protesters, not the legions upon legions of fully armed riot police. In terms of this suddenly invented law that it is somehow illegal to have a gathering of at least ten people, I suppose Thida ought to be worried. Her rallies contain at least ten people.
I completely disagree. Government has only to lost in case of violence. Army will sure intervene with a possible coup, and public opinion will turn all against government.
Who has hopes for violence, is only Suthep. A coup is his only hope, because Government won't give up if protest will keep pacific.

Your 'gifted journalist' works for PT so his comments are hardly surprising....
And I don't believe a word of what you said after that.
And with this post you lost all your credibility...

Bangkok governor should explain why he did not try to talk into Suthep head ( as seen as he paid a courtesy visit not long time ago ), and let him understand that indefinite block of 7 areas of Bangkok is ruin for many people that have to go to work everyday and the least problem will have is to have to stay on the road 2 or more hours more for reach their workplace and turn back home?
Protesters have their rights and I agree on some on their points as well, but not on the way of this new protest.
I will be also forced to use Mass Transport for reach my workplace, praying God they will not think to cut also MRT and BTS at some points.
Here someone criminalized and is still criminalizing red shirts for their block of Ratchaprasong, but exalts the next protest? Double standards?
I blamed and cursed reds for what they have done back in 2010 and in the same way do the same to who is organizing disruption and searching for military intervention once again. Give voice to the real people, not to powermongers, using people again for their advantage, like back in 2010.

It's because the deep polarization, the overwhelming corruption, the thick lying faces that this kind of thing will never finish.
To condone someone because his rival was condoned in the past does not help at all.
Thaksin is the evil here, but Suthep and who backs him is not an angel sent from above.
We know how things are and who accepts the fact to replace a serial killer with an assassin for change things, then should rethink about it.
There's only a way to resolve the empasse: life ban from politics EVERYONE involved in vote buying, corruption and abuse of power.
Done that, keep the rule for all new cases that will come in the future.
Court that will have to decide on cases like this have to be proven independent and without any connection with any parties.
So then: out Sutheps, Shins, and all the worst parasites, something better will be in sight.
Yingluck and Suthep are more childish than my boy going to playschool. Defending one or another is a lose-lose situation.
Edited because: clicked on quote instead on reply

If Suthep and his loonies get their way you won't have a vote.
In numbers: The TRT and Dems had respectively: 15,744,190 and 11,433,762 people vote for them. A difference in % of the population of resp. (TRT, Dems) 48.41% and 35.15%. (say 13%) This was NOT reflected in the seats in Parliament by the self dividing rule of the TRT who changed the constituencies. (TRT/ Dems) 265 seats against 159 seats or in seats 106 (!!). If this had been in the range of anything like 225 to 196 this would have been a fair and acceptable result. (the difference being about 13%) or in seats 29. Read that again: The difference in what would have been an acceptable and fair divide in seats was 29 but it became 106 !!! This would have allowed (just an example) the Democrats to team up with some other parties and still form a Government. Besides in the opposition it would have given them lots more control. Any more questions??
Is there any reason why you are repeating this same post hijacking topics around? Even when your comment is not related to the post you are replying?
I understand your point of view, besides that electoral law was not changed by the democrats. If it was so unfair, why they did not make an electoral reform during their government?
Anyway... I expressed my
