  1. If they have an international fugitive arrest warrant and show up at the border.....

Are you still missing that he was not arrested for piracy?

Nope, I am not missing that.

Great job for arrest the fugitive. I hope that is clear, he was not involved in piracy, and I am well aware of it.

I just make a little comparison on how things are not quite right here... There's all kind of crimes at the daylight that is not prosecuted.

Law is not enforced. RTP corruption is clearly there to see in everyday life. Just read the news everyday and you will see how many examples.

I just wish this country could be much better, because I love Thailand and (many) Thais... That's all.

    =End OT=

  2. The hypocrisy of Thailand I see as I walk along silom seeing "dozens " of "pirate movie and music "vendors selling unhindered.

And again he was not arrested for piracy

    Visa irregularities?cheesy.gif
    Fugitive convict warrant

So what about arrest also the lot of guys on the street selling pirated movies and music album copies? Catching them in the act? Or maybe they pay police for "protection" already so that is not much viable?

  3. Is there anyone who knows where to find this item in Bangkok?

I have a coffee moka from Italian maker Bialetti. I have now to change the gasket as it's worn due to use.

I saw they sell on amazon, but nevertheless to say shipment costs and duties would make it stupid to buy it there.

Here is a picture of the item:

Thanks in advance to whoever can help me out! smile.png

  4. The police submitted DNA test as the only evidence and not a single witness was present. That's why Koh Samui prosecutors returned the case to Thai police to find further evidence.

    This speaks volumes...

Stupid comment!!! Do you believe they waited that some hundred Tourist come look when they do it? If the DNA match 100% it is enough evidence!!!

Calm down buddy... Did I offend you? I just expressed my opinion here... blink.png

You can express yours without resort to insults, if you want to debate with me. But I doubt that.

Edit: if you think the part in bold is stupid you should have blamed who made the report, not me.

  5. Huh ???? try reading the OP before trolling.

Perhaps you missed the fact that the prosecution files are not subject to discovery.

Well at least it was hard to understand who your "Huh?" was directed to.

I guess to the report at the link I posted...

Anyway, in my opinion (and it's strictly my opinion, I want this to be clear) you give too many things for granted.

E.g.: prosecution files are not subject to discovery.

This is Thailand, and with the right hooks that could not be true. Just sayin'... I guess that if you lived here for a while you should be aware of that already.

  6. How does this DNA result clear him of murder, it might clear him of any sexual contact with the girl, certainly not clear him of any other involvement. What a useless and stupid headline / statement.

Not totally "surprised" by the statement / headline as it seems DNA was the only evidence that police presented to the prosecutor...

    Huh???

    Did you read the link?

The only evidence presented to the prosecutor is: DNA match...

That means for police, DNA Match means guilty of murder - DNA not match means not guilty of murder.

So... following police reasoning he is not the murderer as DNA does not match.

  8. LATEST

DNA testing of Varot Toovichien, the son of influential Koh Tao village headman and owner of AC Bar on the resort island, by the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Police General Hospital showed no match with the DNA samples found on the slain British backpacker Ms Hannah Witheridge, and samples collected at other scenes.

But the police said they have to wait for the testing results of three other hospitals, Chulalongkorn, Siriraj, and Ramathibodi.

Woah, in less than 24 hours we have the first results. From Police General Hospital though.

I am glad to see here in Thailand we have such advanced tools for DNA Analysis.

Wonder why they had to send some batches out to Singapore in the beginning of investigation... Or they weren't?

    Oh well...

  9. Yes OK however I stated "If I was in his position and had his means I would have dug up all the proof possible when the rumours started". Again a case of the obsessed posters picking out bits they like to twist.

I said " yes Ok however".

Please learn the quote function, you should know how to by now.

    Missed again.

Please take your issues with the quotes to the forum support desk. I am using the app and they are fine from my view.

This is ot but... It's you making the post with messed quotes, so I guess you are the one that have to ask forum support desk to check where's the problem. Or did the world turn upside down lately?

    Fine from my view.

This is not what we all see...

So let say: you drive a car. From your seat everything works ok, you can drive and reach your destination without any problem.

But outside everyone else hear an unbearable noise that makes everyone uncomfortable and it's not ok for the road laws.

Who has to bring the car to check? Just asking...

    Call the traffic police.

Thanks for the answer... It told a lot about you.

  12. Reading the multiple topics here one thing comes to my mind.

Why in the heaven are you posters replying to the 2 extreme wings here?

Every topic is messed up from their one-side-only bs (the RTP fans and the hooligans-apologists), it remembers me of the same exact thing happened during the protests in Bkk, with two factions making forums unreadable.

At least if those 2 groups want to go on with their nonsense and proceed in their crusade, let them go on, and hopefully some action will be taken at some point...

In my opinion (just to stay in topic) the only sure thing is that the RTP showed a total and utter incompetence glazed with unprofessional actions throughout the whole investigation.

They completely made the whole thing a disgrace. I am not involved in the investigation, but for what I have been reading and from some opinions got around, I can tell this story will have (sadly) to go on still for a long while. I don't think the 2 Burmese to be the culprits, I think of a bigger story, maybe involving them as well, but not as killers...

Sure the behavior of headman's family makes think a lot. Many things does not add up. And now this new test (Thanks RTP to be present and giving a press conference with who should be impartially tested) does not change things, almost at all. Who was cheering for the RTP and headman, will go on to do it, who were dubious won't change their mind...

    Time will say...

  13. Presumptuous a little here? You say what is real for YOU! The others says what's real for THEM.

I refuse to say anything about this topic, because it's obviously so complex and intricate that is so hard to find the truth.

Sure you have your opinion and others have a different one from you, but boasting you say what is real, it's a hyperbole.

    71..

Reality is not as subjective as that. Real are things like the legal system that precludes the UK police from doing all the things in Thailand that the conspiracy theorists are crying for.

Allow me to say, I read about this story for long since we had the sad news of the assassinations.

Many times I read real things from both your side, and from who does not embrace your views.

So I may well say: you are not the only one to say real things here. And it's not a good point to call who has different views from you talking insanity.

By the way... I go back to my "limbo" and I will continue just to read about the topic, no much sense to express an opinion here without being lynched.

  14. No thanks 3

You are welcome to use the ignore function.

I know the conspiracy theorists would like to be able to run wild with no voice that speaks out against that insanity : but a few people are willing to say what is real.

    I am one.

  15. Oh my God... I wonder what are requisites to be a Thai journalist.

Do they even have a vague idea on "How to write an article"?

Not any single quote from the UNHCR envoy, and let people think she todl what the journalist wrote... coffee1.gif

And that's one of the many, look at UK Ambassador that for some Thai Newspaper praised the RTP for the perfect investigation, when that has been totally denied from the Ambassador later directly on his Twitter account...

  16. A bit of advice for who stresses on the fact that everyday life is normal under martial law... you should see things in perspective.

For who is a tourist coming to visit here, being Thailand under martial law means no insurance coverage for certain incidents...

That sure doesn't help... Oh but TAT want to even promote the splendor of Martial Law! coffee1.gif

  17. must be on one great salary...

Yep, same as the Army ones, how do they do it?

Didn't the PM just say they could come from wealthy families or maybe married a wealthy wife ?

Yeah, and did some of the top military brass submit a case to avoid to check their assets and make them public?

Corruption is so endemic that I cannot see an end of it in the short-medium term...

Oh and RTP is a real farce...Lots of examples in last weeks, if we really needed any.

  18. Come on everyone on TV .. if you want to be sure about this then we need 10,000 sigs to move on it to petition the British Embassy and British government for another independent investigation, all people want is real justice and closure for David and Hannahs families, that means 100% without doubt .... get enough voices and the UK gov will have to open an investigation if they havnt already behind closed doors.

We can make a difference for once, all it takes are for good people to do something....

    https://www.change.org/p/the-government-of-the-united-kingdom-independently-investigate-the-horrific-murders-of-hannah-witheridge-and-david-miller#share

Please Moderators im asking you on behalf of many do the right thing and let this link stay.

Great post here... an independent investigation is owed to the family of the 2 poor kids, and to shed light on the facts, avoiding that someone is being sent to rot in jail instead the real culprits.

Of course if the Myanmar workers will result to be the real culprits may they rot in jail until the end of their days!

    Signed!
