  1. I am sure that many will not like my post but: what's the point to reply to trolling, baiting attention seekers?

Sure cannot put reason in them because their only target is to get attention, and make other posters nervous, maybe insult them and get suspended.

And also I feel they sure have all the interest top feel important to be the one to make the topic trashed and blocked.

So, let them tell their "ideas" and just write your ideas without replying or implying them. Simple as that.

I see that replying to them, often calls new trolls in the system, so (but that's just my opinion) I'd avoid.

To stay in topic, I am very glad of how the defense is scoring points (many own goals from the prosecution, but star scores from the first witness for the defense), though as seen as the whole system in Thailand is so corrupt and devious I won't feel satisfied till the Court will give their judgement.

  2. Statement from Wyn Ellis

Amazed by the global attention I seem to have attracted over the last few days. Due to the huge number of inquires and expressions of concern from media representatives and all our lovely friends (thank you all so much), I would like to give a brief update on the circumstances of my unexpected weekend at Suwarnabhumi Airport.
On arrival in Bangkok from Europe last Thursday, I was informed by Immigration that due to my blacklisting instigated by NIA they were obliged to refuse entry to Thailand and I would be have to return to Oslo on the next available flight (Sunday 6 Sept). I objected to this and elected instead to remain in the airport transit area for an extra few days in order to present evidence and request my name be immediately removed from the blacklist
I know there have been a lot of social media criticism of the Immigration Dept over this case, but this is somewhat misplaced. it was entirely my choice to stay to clear the situation locally. So, I want to make it clear I was never kept locked up by the Immigration Dept; this was my choice to remain so I could clear my name from the blacklist. So please give the guys a break!
The Immigration Dept staff have treated me extremely well, offering every convenience they could offer. While the holding room is not endowed with lava lamps and creature comforts, it is fairly clean and the Thai food is always excellent. I spent most of today working in the office of an Immigration official, and was brought food and REAL coffee.
Negotiations are still proceeding, mainly centred around Sunny, my amazing and fearless wife!. So I still cant tell you what's going to happen. At the moment I am stuck here, but things could change quickly.l
I have asked the incoming NIA Director (Dr Pun-Arj Chairatana) to issue another official letter to the Immigration Dept, requesting my removal from the Immigration blacklist, to no avail. His letter of 4 Sept stopped short of this, and merely revoked the original complaint. I am also still awaiting a grovelling official apology... At the every least, I would have expected NIA to issue a statement condemning the malfeasance and flagrantly malicious abuse of power to conduct a vendetta against a private individual, that is so evident in this case; finally, I am calling on NIA to confirm that it will be taking immediate criminal action against the perpetrator under Article 157.
I will provide a further update later tonight. Fingers crossed, folks, and heartfelt thanks once again for all your support. It means so much.

This statement does not really reflect one of his tweets

"Pleased to report that I am now out of custody and back in my in my home in Bangkok Yessss!! Pls send pics."

    Confused...

  3. This story resonates and has legs because everyone, retiree, employee, business owner, knows that 'there but for the grace of God go I'....everyone is only one vindictive or litigious complianant away from being in similar circumstances..

Most foreigners in Thailand want certainty: assurances that there is safety, tenure, freedom from harassment. Sadly, from the perspective of the individuals ( as well as for Thailand itself), there is a vulnerability , not only from vindictive whack-jobs but also government policy which can change at any whim or fancy.

This is a really bad news story for Dr Wym but also for Thailand

Bad news for Thailand? He was removed from immigration blacklist he was put on in 2009. Imo this is good news for Thailand and the current government.

99.99% of all foreigners visiting Thailand have no reason to feel uncertain here. Especially when they don't get involved in local affairs.

...he has been jailed for some days before he has been released...

That doesn't make me feel particularly safe. But oh well, if that's your feeling.

I can't judge your personal situation but I feel very safe when going through immigration. I know for sure they have no reason to block my entry into Thailand.

From what we know even Khun Ellis did not have anything to worry about his entry but...

I feel myself safe when going through immigration, but I personally know someone hit some influential people nerve (not on purpose) and paid consequences, so yeah, I always behave but not always consequences depends on our actions here...

Said that, peace :) We keep on our ideas.

  5. Funny (or better, shocking) to see that there are some people here, who believe (after all the visible and obvious f-ups) in the official story told by the RTP... This is like trying to make anyone here believe in Santa Claus again... are these guys for real???

Also funny to see someone still trying to make them change idea, they will never do, so better give up? /me think.

  6. Senior police officers give contradictory evidence at Hannah Witheridge murder trial

The presence of a single blonde hair, clutched in the hand of Norfolk student Hannah Witheridge after her death on the island of Koh Tao in Thailand,

has proved that senior police officers gave contradictory evidence at her murder trial.

The hair, which still had the root attached when it was found on Ms Witheridge’s body by the Royal Thai Police pathologist during her autopsy, was sent for testing.

The strand test revealed it had not come from either 23 year-old Ms Witheridge, or Jersey tourist David Miller, 24, who was murdered alongside her.

I guess that holes in foot of prosecution and RTP are bigger than the Vredefort Crater by now... I just can't believe it.

An unbelievable mix of incompetence, bullying, and misconducts.

    ...speechless...

  7. Another thread reduced to a total mess, and how nice for three posters with so few posts in their history with 95% of their post on this thread to tell us the Holy Truth on Koh Tao, Thailand and this case...

I see some pattern repeating here, and it always end in the same way, with the topic being blocked.

So, fellow posters, just keep an eye open and look with who you are going to be in an endless and useless debate. My 25 satang...

  8. ...and also this topic will be locked soon. Is so much hard to leave the trolls and the ones trying to derail the thread alone? Please!

P.s.: I did not derail the topic and I did not make any personal attack, I just wish that this topic won't be derailed, once again. And that happened because the continue bickering...

@AleG, no need to cry foul, I did not specify anyone in my post, nevertheless I was referring to you in particular. But it's well evident who's trolling and trying to derail the thread and will make it close, once again.

    End of OT. Peace.

  9. I still would like to understand why someone makes one-word-posts, when there is a "like" function that exactly allow to do that without make confusion in the thread.

But I guess that it's someone's target to just make the thread "dirty", flaming and trolling, maybe hoping that the very same thread will be locked, again.

  10. For Christ's sake... I am seriously planning of leaving this country. I can't believe the astounding sequel of "out-of-this-world" news that is coming out day by day.

I would never forgive myself to allow my kids to live and grow up in such a failed state like Thailand has become.

Time to plan and say goodbye after all that happened in last 5 years and much more in the last year and some months...

  11. Yes, they should investigate every lead, but just because they didn't review the CCTV footage it doesn't mean they didn't.

They collected the footage, so evidently they checked out the pier but for some reason didn't consider it worthwhile to review the footage from the cameras, maybe they just established that no boats left from the pier during that time by interviewing people there; it's up to the defense to ask for the reasons behind that decision and see if they stand up to scrutiny.

Okay, I guess you expressed your view perfectly. Glad to see you still see no flaws in the investigation.

  12. Very unlikely that a speedboat had left from the main pier, it is used by larger vessels; speedboats normally operate directly from the beach or from small piers at some resorts.

Irrelevant dont you think, the point is the cctv was not checked in a double murder case and to this day know body knows. We also know they were looking and checking local fishing boats but failed to check the pier cctv..............

    No, I don't think it's irrelevant.

As I said the pier is normally used for larger vessels and it would be easy to check if any left during the relevant time.

Before things get even more twisted it should be pointed that this:

"The court in Koh Samui heard that the senior investigating police chief and his officers did not believe the killer would have taken that boat, which left an hour or so after the estimated time of death of the pair.
"We have the footage, but we never checked it," Police Colonel Cherdpong said."
Is conflating two things, one the footage from the pier and two the allegations that a speedboat left the island from somewhere else one hour after the murder. They way it has been edited it makes it look as if there is footage of that boat leaving from the pier that the police refused to examine.
Having said that the defense should ask for the footage from the pier and examine it to their full satisfaction.

But for God's sake! This is a top profile murder, a freaking detective MUST follow any lead! How can this lead be left out???

How can you even think to give an excuse to RTP for this (among the thousand other) utter proof of incompetence and total lack of professionalism???
