    You need to deal with the problems you have. Write them down on paper, bullet points and how you can tackle them, can take months and years, quicker you start, the better, good luck

    At 28 i could have stayed in Koh Tao and worked as a dive instructor, but I didn't want to throw away a good career in London, i went back, others with little prospects stayed. Glad i went back, i still had good hols every year until i decided to retire, still early. I would say it's likely a mistake to come too young because much more difficult to earn the kind of money you can get in farangland

    Good they built memorials after. i was there 2 weeks before tsunami, most people i saw working on the beach must of died, except divers it seems. I visited that police boat that was swept 1km Inland, amazing really

    i went back to Khao Lak a few years later, where thousands died, nothing there to commemorate the deaths, forgotten easy

    I've seen people who liked being alone, who became noticeably happier when they got into regular social interaction, i appreciate some won't find it easy

    It's not healthy to be by yourself day in day out, people need social interaction (on here doesn't count), sooner people realise that the better

    I've never seen it but I'm not actively looking into Thai history, they also never talk about the 2004 tsunami that killed thousands
