  1. Sounds more like a visitor than an expat, if he exists at all beyond someone's imagination.
  2. My double lens replacement at Bangkok Phuket Hospital a couple of years ago cost 130k baht.
  3. Tell your tale to Herman Cain Oops, too late. You could end up receiving one of his awards.
  4. I just thought some sort of official seeming comparison may help a poster who regards opinions on health by denizens of this forum to be a good idea.
  5. Best COVID-19 Vaccine: Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, Novavax, AstraZeneca | Observer
  6. Yeah, Dancing, Prancing and Saluting. What a carry on. Learning how to walk on their knees is also a skill needed for children to understand their role in society.
  7. The Englishman, apparently illegally in the country, insisted that he and the woman go to an isolated area upstairs to talk. The Ukraine couple obviously knew where to find them, and when they came up to steal her phone and bag the Englishman restrained her preventing her resistance to the theft. There's obviously a back story to the situation, but to take her to a quiet area and then assist the thieves with the robbery makes him very much an accessary, not a spectator!
  8. Malta's checkered banking history and links with many shady Russian characters has been heavily publicised in the past.
  9. I recall when Simon leased property near Phuket Airport he had some sort of booster or backup system which enhanced the flight radar there. (I don't know details) I do recall when he left the Island it was no longer possible to track planes on the taxiways with FlightRadar.
  10. The situation with the United Nations demilitarised zone in Cyprus might hinder the use of ham radios there. Just a thought. Many may not be aware that many countries still send peacekeepers there. Australian police agencies have been providing personnel for decades.
  11. I had amended my post just before your reply. My question was a little unfair. I have been reading about your life, travails, businesses, etc on this forum for more than 16 years. You have a penchant for sharing many intimate details of your life beyond what most here would do. My recollections of your posts are that you have had various difficulties in many places resulting in a mobile lifestyle.
  12. I've seen plenty of Brits buying cheap properties in sunny Portugal on YouTube. I don't know about your specifics with ham radio licenses there.
  13. This is Thailand; they use Baht. You post is confusing and contradictory. Thailand also uses kilograms for weight.
  14. I find people who refer to themselves in the plural believe their nether regions are the source of the light.
  15. I had my second Pfizer jab last week and asked about boosters. They said 6 months and the hospital will contact me. I would think the country will have plenty of vaccine by then.
  16. I paid for Moderna at a private hospital, but have now had 2 shots of Pfizer through the expatvac scheme. Booster not due for 6 months. A local Thai now wants to buy my Moderna booking. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer it to another person? May depend on the hospital I suppose - A Ram hospital in my case. As I've received a similar product for free I don't feel I've lost anything, so I wouldn't ask for money myself, but the wife probably would insist.
  17. I had a similar message from my bank in Australia. They want to be informed of your payees full address when transferring funds overseas. To require the address of people with whom you decide to spend your money is very Orwellian. (I use Wise ) International payments require payee address From: Westpac7:09pm, 25 Oct 2021 We're updating our international payments to include additional payee details in line with industry guidelines. What's the change? When sending funds overseas, you will now need to include the payee address. For your saved payees and scheduled payments, please update the payee address by 7 February 2022. After this date, international payments without a payee address will not be processed.
  18. Even though it didn't work for you you're lucky you didn't have to try BHP's old scanner. lt was so small I couldn't get my shoulders into the tunnel! They did later purchase a bigger model and even gave me a test run to try for size. I was able to fit, but never did get around to having the scan. I also discovered there was an open model in Bangkok and thought about going there, but my doctor at the time said the open model wasn't as effective.
  19. And Australia followed them into all, just like they fight for Britain in their wars.
  20. For those who don't get it, this government doesn't want, the old tourist playground, Thailand to restart. The typical hedonistic, partygoing, western tourist is not wanted by these hypocritical puritans. It's not hard to understand who the target tourists now are, how they want them to spend their money, and how long they should stay. Absolute power always includes hypocrisy and corruption on a grand scale (shades of Myanmar, N. Korea and most other countries that seek to dilute democracy). The unprecedented pandemic, and long closed borders, have given the opportunists a chance to effect massive change for the benefit of some. A chance to go back in time to another era. As the ruling class, the Bangkok elite have little sympathy for the millions of lower class Thais who have molded their lives around the former style of tourism. They are considered to be a part of the old feudal lifestyle, should accept this, and should continue to respect and serve their superiors. It will only change with a change of government, if that chance has not already gone.
  21. I paid 3,500 for the moderna I'll probably never get. Now getting Pfizer for free, c'est la vie.
  22. Will, I registered in the first days of the program's start. Beginning of September or was it August? Not sure now. Pfizer. I noted that my call up came shortly after a new batch of Pfizer (2 mill doses) was met, with much publicity, at the airport by Anutin. The first lot didn't seem to stretch very far for some reason.
  23. You are mainly correct and my Southern Hemisphere country, Australia, meekly followed in to all those wars. The hundreds who died are just as dead as those killed in WW2. I This forum isn't yet completely Anglicized is it?
